Multiple staff were always close by, checking on us, refilled drinks etc. The owner came out to talk to us and brought samples of their Mac & cheese (delicious) and the sweet potato crunch ( insane. A great dessert). The brisket sandwich I had was delicious. Generous meat serving and fresh lettuce and tomato. Very good flavor with nice contrasting texture and tastes. Our meal was brought to us within 7 minutes of ordering. I have no suggestions or ideas for improvement here. This will be a favorite for us. This is a fun farm appointed , rustic setting. DId somebody say chicken?…read more I have been shopping at this Ingles for years now and I have watched as they have evolved into a grocery powerhouse. They have better produce than ever before and they now carry more organic items than just about anybody in the area. And, to top it all off, they have just completed a massive upgrade to bring in Starbucks, a pharmacy and an Oriental fast food counter next to the regular deli. I have to mention the original deli, though, because it is so good and so affordable. For around $5 you can get a meat and 3 sides and the food is good. I recommend the fried chicken...I love fried chicken. Go early for lunch, though, because after that the food sits up and gets old and crusty under the heat lamps. I wouldn't try to make a supper out of it. The store is always clean and bright and it has been my experience that I can find some things at Ingles that I cannot find at other stores...like Earth Balance spread, for example. There are others, but none come to mind at the moment. Another benefit to shopping here is the meat market. When you get a whole chicken at most stores, no one is there to cut it up for you. But Ingles has a meat department and they will cut up a chicken (for example) into individual pieces for you at no charge. This is much cheaper than buying a chicken already cut up into pieces. (bet you didn't know that...haha) Ingles is competitive in terms of pricing. They are not as cheap as Walmart's neighborhood market, but they do compete with Publix and Bi-Lo and Food Lion. I continue to be a fan of this Ingles and will continue to support it, as long as they continue to cut up my chicken for free. : ) (I really don't eat that much chicken)

As sides we had the Brunswick stew, Mac and Cheese and cheesy hash browns. The Brunswick stew is less chunky and more fine. The flavor was good. The Mac and cheese was very creamy in a white cheese sauce. It was really good. The hash browns were full of flavor. I would definitely order the Mac and cheese and hashbrowns again but probably would skip the Brunswick stew. Not that it wasn't good. I would just try other menu items first. Just FYI. No alcohol. A half hour after we sat down another server showed up with our food, which they somehow messed up. My friend ordered the kids pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw and a banana pudding. They brought the coleslaw ON the sandwich instead of a side of coleslaw. Explained it to waitress number 2 who took the sandwich back to get it corrected and bring us some pork rinds. A couple mins later reappeared with pork rinds and a kids pulled pork sandwich with the coleslaw on the side - like a 1 oz bbq sauce size plastic cup of coleslaw, not a side order of coleslaw. My friend just shook her head and let it ride because now it was almost 45 mins after we sat down. Our receipt wasn't itemized so we couldn't even check to see what we were charged for.
