Silo 19 Automotive - Reverse of faded 1984 Cadillac Regi Expired 06/30/2009

    Silo 19 Automotive

    (1 review)

I purchased a 1984 Cadillac from Silo 19, Norman Walker last December 2023. I sent the payment in…read morefull, and sent a friend to go get it as per agreed schedule Norman promised there was a transferable registration in the glove box. No regi was present, no proof of ownership, no bill of sale etc I repeatedly called and texted Norman, and he finally "found" said regi, and told me it was "faded", and weeks went by, no regi is mailed to me So I called Bangor Maine State Police to intervene, and magically, regi shows up. And I asked Norman repeatedly for him to ask car owner to get me a current regi, (Norman is selling on behalf, maybe consignment?), and Norman tells me owner "is like 99 years old". I asked several times for a current, or duplicate regi, and same "he's like 99 etc..." I asked Norman if he could transfer ownership to his name, a simple bill of sale procedure in Maine, costs under $100. But only a Maine resident can transfer, so I couldn't, and Norman seems to stall... So now I've finally got regi in my hand, (months have gone by), it is in fact badly faded, only portions are readable, and my motor vehicle obviously won't accept a 14 year old illegible document, which I presented it to my New York DMV It's now April, I call Norman and after ignoring me for weeks, he finally answers (and asks why I sent Police), and gives me (illegible on faded regi) owners last name I immediately Google Paul Tre......y, and he died October 29 2011. He was 86, not "like 99" So I get it, Norman wanted to sell this Caddy for, I guess, Pauls son, or family, who knows? He never told me any truths, and why would I believe anything after months of lies, ignoring me, and 2 State Police interventions? And to rub salt into my wound, the head gasket blew 30 miles from my home, after a nice 300 mile drive. I wonder if Norman knew anything about this issue? Above are the facts, no exaggerations or personal attacks. If I've erred, I would like to be corrected

    Silver Fox Automotive

GivesNo Fox Auto My truck lost its power steering and I was…read morelimited to where I could have it towed nearby, so I chose SilverFox based off the reviews and being assured it would be done by the time my family and I returned from vacation. I even called again on Wednesday and was assured once again it would be done by Friday as my family and I were flying out of town and absolutely needed it back the next Monday. So... fast forward to Monday the return of our trip, my wife and I, 3 kids and 6 bags of luggage land back in Bangor. Upon landing I call... no answer. Call again, no answer. Again, no answer. So, we figure maybe they are busy and cram the 5 of us and 6 bags into an UberXL and head over to try to reach them that way. No one there. At all. Lights off, no one home. Luckily we had the Uber driver wait so she took us to Dysarts to eat. I called. No answer. Tried alternate numbers. Nothing. As we were supposed to be heading out to Sugarloaf for the week I had to rent a car at $120/day. Well, because of the late start and the storm that rolled in, the roads were washed out, so we overnighted in our seasonal camp in 24 degree weather. I stayed up all night feeding the fire so the others could sleep. By morning I was not a "happy camper"! I called mid morning and they answer telling me they were sick. (Please note the other google review given the same excuse, take from that what you will.) I tell them I am 2 hours away at sugarloaf will it be ready by 12:30? Otherwise I have to pay another day for the rental car. "No, end of day." I don't even bother asking the obvious question on why it wasn't already finished. One more night in our 20 degree cabin one more night without sleep. One more $120 rental car. Wednesday comes, at least the roads to sugarloaf are open so I take my family to the warmth and showers of where we were supposed to be staying. I call on the way once again to see if it would be finished by 12:30 or if I need to once again pay for another day of rental car. Guess what? Nope. Not gonna be finished. End of day they tell me once again. So Thursday comes it's finally finished. So, as my family enjoys their day on the slopes, my non-refundable lift ticket goes unused. I head over to drop off the rental car and Uber over to SilverFox. I ask them if they could apply the 10% discount they advertise on their website for a good review. (The mechanic did a good job was thorough and very nice). Todd the owner replies "You can use that on your next visit." Hahaha ya okay Todd, after: $500 for rental car $200 in extra Ubers $150 lift ticket $XXX.XX for staying awake 2 nights stuck in our 20 degree camp -- you can't even do 10% off? Not a Foxing chance buddy. So here's the full review. -20 stars if I could.
