6 piece wings and fries

Overall the food was very good, exceeded my expectations, and the cashier was very welcoming and hospitable. I enjoyed it a lot and it was a good introduction to Harold's without having to drive to the city. The place could use a bit of cleaning, but overall food was great and I would definitely be coming back.

Chicken Wings with mild sauce. Fast, accurate and still my favorite chicken joint.

We called in our order. The food was ready at the promised time. Everything was fresh and hot. We were greeted as we walked in. Everyone was friendly.

Catfish and Wing Combo

I got the catfish and wing combo and I would say it was ok. It was hot and made fresh so that definitely helped but we waited over 30 minutes for food when we were the only ones there. We liked the lemon pepper seasoning but I wasn't a huge fan of the mild sauce or the coleslaw that gets served on the side. If you're looking for good wings I wouldn't say don't go but we've had better.

Gizzard and wing combo with mild sauce

I was skeptical about patronizing this particular Harolds location due to several of the comments and reviews left by other Yelp members; however, I'm glad that I gave it a try for myself! I am born and raised in the south of Chicago, so Harolds was pretty much a staple in every neighborhood that I went to. Now living far north, the drive to get to this location took me over 30 minutes - so my expectations were high. I was greeted by the cashier as soon as I walked in, and I ordered a gizzard and wing combo. I waited less than 10 minutes and opted to eat there in the restaurant. The staff checked on me to ensure everything was to my liking and my meal was hot, fresh, and flavorful - with a perfect amount of sauce on top. I will certainly return when I'm craving a little bit of my hometown staple!

Ok. Harolds Chicken #41 in Schaumburg. One of my co-workers mentioned that there was a Harold's Chicken not too far from the job. I was out for lunch and had a taste for some good ole chicken wangs. When I pulled into the shopping lot. I wasn't for sure if I wanted to get out. It looked a bit shabby and ran down. I took a chance and went inside and place my order. The prices are a bit pricey. 4pc wing dinner for $10.00 ridiculous. I ordered the $5.00 snack deal 2pc wing that comes with fries and small cole slaw. My food was freshly cooked and crispy just the way I like my chicken. Except the Cole slaw it tastes like it was sat out overnight and put back in the fridge. The young gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and polite.

"Small" catfish dinner.

I get take out catfish every time I see it practically. I was here once before, a few years back, and generally had a favorable impression of the food and value. Most places I get a "small catfish dinner" which pretty universally consists of 3 fish filets, fries, and a piece of white bread or roll. Not so at Harold's today. Including tax, over $14 for the "small" which in their minds, is one small filet of fish along with the fries, a slab of white bread on the bottom to soak up all the grease. But the flavor was still good. I just feel a little cheated on the quantity. Another quirk, both times I've been, they don't have tartar sauce or lemon available for the fish. They offer "mild or hot" sauce, ketchup, or ranch. Neither of those choices appealed to me. I'm a pretty regular fish customer at Franks in Hoffman Estates, or Chums in Algonquin. I'll stick with them from here on out.

Four Wing Snack Pack

If you're looking for good and fast service, this place is not it. But the wings were good. Ordered the four wing snack. The cole slaw was, not even kidding, served in the same size cup that you sometimes get ketchup in. So "snack" is an appropriate menu description. We waiting for 45 minutes for a 4 wing snack. Was it worth it? That is debatable but my fiancé seems to love the wings so I gave it a 4 star instead of 3.

Food was unbelievably dry, basically like mcdonald's. I'd probably prefer mcdonald's.

The lady I spoke with on the phone was super sweet, friendly, and patient since it was my first time ordering. I really appreciated how helpful she was! I can't say much about the ambiance since we only did pickup, but the food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous. The prices were also very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and I'll definitely be coming back to try more! Definitely recommend this spot if you're craving Korean fried chicken! Everything was fresh, hot, and packed with flavor! The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. The tteokbokki was also amazing--spicy, flavorful, and the rice cakes had the perfect chewy texture. The fries were crispy and seasoned really well too.

Gloves are available if you don't feel like getting your hands messy. A bit pricey but quality is good. Ambiance is very casual. Order at the table, pay at the counter afterwards.

We ordered mild because my husband doesn't like things too spicy (I love spicy foods) it came with a sauce we picked the buffalo sauce. When we got our order the tenders were definitely not mild.... I only caught it because the total went from $14.99 to $19.99 and when I checked there was a $2 tip. So I removed it. They don't even bring your food to the table. The fries had a bit of a kick, but were great with the dipping sauce, and they also recommend getting the coleslaw as a nice cool down. Last note - this place is in a strip mall so they've got tons of parking, but it's got more takeout vibes inside. Maybe 3 tables with counter service.

I'm going to…read morepreface a bit by saying there aren't enough great or even good quality places for fried shrimp and fish in the burbs. That said, this place impressed me upon my first visit. I stopped in for lunch to pickup a large order or shrimp and fries. I was greeted by Elizabeth initially. She insisted that I upgrade to the plate instead which included cole slaw and potato salad for a small extra fee so I proceeded to lock it in. Shortly after, her husband Kenny greeted me and we had a friendly talk for a while. They hooked me up with an additional side and drink (they did not have to do that) which I thought was a very kind gesture. My food came out prompt, hot and fresh. I ate a few shrimp and fries while there before hitting the road. Everything was crispy, seasoned well and appetizing. I ate the cole slaw and potato salad later at work and enjoyed each. Overall, this is a business I'd certainly return to in the near future. Cost is very competitive and on par with most places so this is a reason to further recommend them. To the owners, thank you for an excellent first impression. Hope to see you again soon!

It was so crispy, fresh, the shrimps were perfectly battered (hate when they hide the shrimp between 10 layers of batter), the lettuce was fresh and surprisingly not wilted by the time I got to my destination. I'm not one for cheese on my po boys, and almost got it without, but im actually really glad I kept the cheese on. -Sauces were all great, the Roumalade is where it's at though. I could've really just had 10 of those and been happy! The tarter was a bit less zesty/tart than what I'm used to, but I ended up putting the hot sauce in it and it was delicious -peach cobbler i have yet to try, but it looks so glossy and creamy, will be eating tonight! The service was really just the cherry on top. Elizabeth, the owner, is the one who greeted me, and she was just a doll. She's a sauce queen, like me, so she made sure I try every single sauce! And gave me the peach cobbler on the house as it's my first time there. She's just the sweetest! You can tell her, her husband, and her son just have so much fun together. I'm just so warmed by my experience there, as she went so above and beyond, AND my food was impeccable. I'm quite the critique with my food, and only rate honest to what I feel, and this place deserves 5/5 stars hands down.
