Came to Harold's on a food tour with some friends. We ordered an 8 piece mixed chicken bucket and ate it there. I thought the chicken was delicious. It was very juicy and crispy. As far as eating there, not the greatest, but you definitely get to eat the chicken while it's fresh. There are two counters and a couple of chairs to sit and eat. If I'm in the area, I would come here again! read more

Harold’s Chicken - Lemon pepper chicken! - Chicken Wings Near Me - Oak Lawn, Illinois

Stopped in the 95th street location with friends. We shared an 8 peice mixed fried chicken bucket. It is primarily carry out, so only a counter with a few seats for dining in. We made is work. I saw three employees working, in total. When I placed my order, I was told 25 minute wait. There were already people waiting for orders, and we were not in a hurry, so no problem. Our order came up after about 25 minutes, and the chicken was hot, crispy, and moist. It was exactly how I wanted it to be. We ate onsite, so that may have helped. I would eat here again, and feel comfortable recommending this location. read more

So let me start by saying I will never eat at another Harold chicken I don't care what anybody says in Chicago. It's nasty. It's been years since I had Harold's chicken and I am in there waiting on an order because I do DoorDash and I look and I'm like I'm trying again and I'ma see how it tastes. I ordered catfish and wing combo. I told her I'm putting them sauce on it cause I don't like still drowning, no sauce and all that I don't really care for the mouse sauce these people I don't even know how to find the right words for what they did to this food because I see why Chicago is like mouse sauce on their food like they're drowned their food under that sauce because the places that they go to the food, don't taste worth nothing and this is one of those places first of all I waited 45 minutes on a catfish and two wings $17 and some change when I get it the first thing I buy into is the catfish I mean did you just like putting the salt under the table or like you just don't use soft no seasoning what's what's going on with this, so I'm like let me try the chicken and see if that's a different ain't no different. They just taking to meet at the pack throwing it in the grease putting it in your tray and give it to you. Nothing no taste in nothing not the meat not in the crust on the chicken or fish nothing so needless to say I'm not never going back took too long to make some nasty food so many other things I wanna say about it but it's just nasty. Probably the best thing was the bread that I did not even eat. I am going to like take it home and hope that my husband he said maybe he can drive in some barbecue sauce and eat it as for me I'm Over it and Harold's never again if you're from out of town, don't believe the hype if you don't believe me order that chicken without no sauce on it and see how it tastes thank you read more

I am a Chicagoan, born and raised. I am not a Harold's fan, and before you assume I have never had Uncle Remy at all. Harold's I have had in the past have been flavorless and needed the sauce to give it any hint of flavor. I know Harold lovers say you have to order it with salt and pepper. If I have to go into a restaurant and ask them to salt and pepper my food I know that's not a place for me. This Harold's chicken wings were perfectly cooked and seasoned without the need for any additional instructions. That's great. What's not great and why I will never return is that my wings had enough feathers on them to fly away. Eww, Yuck, Gross!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The food was overcooked. They barely put any mild sauce on anything. I probably will never go back to this location. read more

New location and it was delicious. Service was friendly, menu was clear with all prices listed. The place was nice and clean. My chicken wings and half dark were seasoned well and included just the right amount of mild sauce. This location is in a strip mall and there is plenty of parking. I will be back! read more

The same excellent quality fried chicken you expect from Harold's, and customer service is always good. It can take 20 minutes or more to get your order, but your order is always fresh so it's worth the wait. read more

If you are searching for REAL Harold's chicken, this is NOT THE PLACE. Sorry, I was really wanting it to be Harold's but it is NOT. Does not taste like Harold's at all, and even the cold slaw was bad. French fries also failed the taste test. The staff was good and the service wasn't too bad, BUT BOY THIS FOOD IS TERRIBLE! read more

I am visiting Chicago to see a very sick relative. My family stopped in to get dinner for the night. Our hotel is close by...we've never had Harolds and we were excited to see what all the rave was about. Sylvia walked us through our order proces...she was sweet patient and she made our Harolds experience great! We are from Arkansas. read more

The service was fantastic and Silvia was super helpful! What a great energy and welcoming experience!!!!

4.5/10 the wings were not fried hard as requested, the fries were just okay, and they are very stingy with the mild sauce! Back to the ORIGINAL owned Harold's I go. read more

This place was actually pretty good. They were busy a With lots of folks who seemed to be repeat customers. That's how I knew i chose the right place, then the food didn't disappoint. Great job, great chicken. read more

Tried the new location and was a little disappointed. Wings had just a drizzle of mild sauce. One of the wings literally only had a drop of sauce. Fries seemed a little undercooked. Wings were a little overcooked but I like them like that so no complaints there. New location so probably new cooks and staff. Will give them a few months or so before thinking of returning. Unfortunate since I live in the area read more

Harold’s Chicken - 6 piece wings with mild sauce and lemon pepper - Chicken Wings Near Me - Oak Lawn, Illinois

Ordered and paid for Order on12/24/25 in advance. I requested that my order be ready for pickup on 12/25/25 at noon when I got there, my order not found, I was told it will take 15 mins. to drop the chicken in and cook it. I waited almost an hour for my order. It was fried too HARD and everyone couldn't eat it. I was so disappointed. I don't plan to go back to Harold's chicken in Oak Lawn neither are my friends. read more

Absolutely terrible. If there was an option to rate this place A zero I certainly would. It was as if a regular trained staff had walked off the job and a bunch of people came in to run the place because they had no idea what they were doing. I believe this location is relatively new but that should not be a reason for such Poor Service and food. I had never been to a Harolds and was looking forward to it. What we ended up with was comically soggy French fries, over breaded and overcooked and therefore dried out chicken which was borderline uneatable. Oh and the coleslaw looked like a container of soup. This location is obviously a franchise, but apparently the parent company four goes any formal training. This experience was so bad I will not give it a second try: one and done. read more

Second time going and again Messed up my order and never gave me my extra mild sauce .

First and foremost, I seen someone review this place on Facebook. They advertised a buy one get one free 6 wing, which is initially why I came in. Not once was it mentioned that it is only honored on weekdays but no biggie, I already made it there so I ordered. I noted, the place smelled of sewage, someone else noted it too. Huge turn off, I said to myself I wouldn't be back due to that alone. Food didn't take long, no more than 15 minutes. I asked for a 6 wing *fried hard* lemon pepper and mild sauce. I'm pretty fair, so I will say it was seasoned well; however, wings were NOT fried hard-- they were actually soggy. Barely any mild sauce, mostly on the fries, virtually none on the chicken. Even the bread was stale. Overall, not worth it. Take the extra trip to 91st and Ashland or on Sangamon. Note: it's not owned by AA which I wish would have known beforehand. Definitely speaks volumes why the food wasn't great. read more

Just left this place , and it's a hard nooooooo for me!!! Different owners that tried to mimic the original Harold's chicken recipe. Don't be fooled. The chicken was overcooked and doesn't even look or taste the same. Too heavy on the salt, seasonings and stingy with the mild sauce. Fries were also under cooked. Note, when I walked in and saw who was cooking the food, I should have turned around and walked back out. read more

Warm Service, Good Chicken, Room for Improvement I had a very warm welcome as soon as I walked in the door at Harold's Chicken on 4709 West 95th Street, Oak lawn, IL. The lady at the counter was so kind (possibly the owner), and I let her know upfront that I hadn't had great experiences at other Harold's locations. She assured me, and the service definitely stood out here. The chicken was cooked to order, which I really appreciate. The staff was also very attentive while I was there, I saw the cook bring out samples for another customer so she could see what her order would look like before deciding. That was such a nice touch that you rarely see anymore, and it showed genuine customer care. The facility was clean, and the people were professional and welcoming. My only critique is that the gizzards were cooked a little harder than I like and could've used more seasoning. The fries also tasted like the oil may have needed to be changed. That said, I may have just caught them before a fresh batch. Overall, the kindness, cleanliness, and made-to-order chicken make this Harold's worth another try. I'll definitely give them one more visit to see how it goes! K. Brown read more

This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had. The first time I called my order in, they were switching shifts and left my food sitting on the counter completely exposed. Even after I told the cashier the order was mine, she ignored me and continued assisting everyone else in the store while my food sat out getting cold. They claimed to remake the food, but it was still terrible. I decided to give them another chance and returned three days later. I called in the order again and asked if it was ready. The employee said yes and that he was preparing it. I then watched an Indian employee grab my order and hand it to another customer without even checking the ticket. Instead of admitting the mistake, they tried to tell me my order wasn't ready. Unfortunately for them, I heard the cook say he had already given it away. The man in the front eventually admitted the error. Overall, the service is careless and unprofessional. It's disappointing to see this level of disrespect and lack of attention to detail, especially at a Harold's that primarily serves African American customers. I won't be returning. read more

The service as well as the food was great. The food was fresh out of the grease. I highly recommand them.....

They do not listen to the instructions for customers orders. On top of that, their fries are never cooked fully.

They don't serve real catfish and the frozen catfish fillet that they do cook and serve didn't have any flavor the menu u should state that it's fillets ithe wings had many feathers on them I believe they get business because it's the only wing shack of it's kind in the area but I wouldn't go back read more

I knew something was not right when I got my order. I've been eating Harolds chicken for 40 plus years.i can smell it a mile away that sweet, tart irresistible flavor was missing. Then I opened my order and tasted it. I was highly disappointed no Harold sauce. Seems this establishment is using regular hot sauce and generic mild sauce. If I'm going to pay 17.00 for 6 wings they better be the real Harolds wings with the trademark sauce. Do not insult my taste buds. I will never come back. I got a refund. read more

Quick service and right off of the main Street! You can smell it in the air on 95th st. Just thought I'd try this new location

I love there customer service and their chicken is amazing and if you have not made your way over there, you need to get there

great service, easy process to do order ahead and great food! Great environment to be in!

The food is good and hot. Sometimes they forget your sauce, but other than that, I don't I love their food.

Fake overcooked catfish! Learn how to cook catfish! If you don't know stick to what you know how to cook . We called to voice our complaint over the catfish fried order and were told we did our part ! The hell you did ! read more

Who runs out of shrimp at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Friday? A lot of people don't eat chicken. I think they are under staffed. They can and need to do better. The sauce was watery. 3 for me. read more

Went in a second time on 11/29 for the BOGO 6 piece wing special. This time the one slice of bread and the tiny cup of Cole slaw is not included which is very chincy and disappointing. After placing my order I returned to the cashier and asked for an extra cup of bbq sauce as they were very dry the first time I had ordered them a week before. The girl was very polite and agreed but the manager/owner overheard and berated her in front of me ordering her to charge me for them. I paid the extra charge 90 cents but there was no need for this woman with a major chip on her shoulder and poor attitude to behave so poorly and unprofessional. This nasty woman should be working in the kitchen and not dealing with the public as she has zero people skills. I will not be returning to this location. Unless you enjoy dealing with attitudes and greasy, tasteless chicken you should avoid this location too! Good riddance!!! read more

this location is amazing! food always hot and fish! Service is also great! Must try ASAP
