Great and friendly service. And good food. The restaurant was not crowded when I visited and my order was prepared quickly and correct.

Edited to add that I'm seeing this establishment is only here to profit off of blacks, which they…read morefeel superior to. Most of the comments call out there poor customer service as well as questionable, predatorial behavior. Stop having people unfamiliar or afraid to interact with people in roles where they have to INTERACT WITH PEOPLE. Typical stuff, not being respectful when presented with ordering mistakes, trying to charge people for silly things like bags for each sandwhich, etc. Things that NEVER happen in white areas. Absolute trash. Poor quality bread that was like a doughy shake. Got the large. Poor quality bread made it a diabetic fright. And it was disgusting. Meat was carne asada. I got a sandwhich that's supposed to be shaved meat. The Sweet Steak is a specific sandwhich. Imagine drinking an Horchata that was made of coconut milk. That's how weird it is to have you try to use your recipe for sweet steak. Isn't from your particular culture. Obviously you couldn't be bothered to research and respect the culture that this sandwhich comes from. Like you're going to tell me how it's supposed to be made? Cruz? Are you from this planet? A coconut horchata, or a buttermilk horchata, or a mayo horchata, or a cauliflower horchata - none of these are what you can get at 99% Mexican restaurant. Is carne asada usually ground beef? Just coming from SoCal it's like you're being deliberately obtuse. Really hope you take the time to think about this. It is absolutely bizarre hermano. You look absolutely bizzare to people with time to think about why you are choosing to make these decisions. Moreover it's disrespectful that you're not even trying to figure out why things are popular the way African Americans cook it. Weird and Trumpy to say the least. I avoided another spot owned by my non-black brothers because of the tendency to get frozen fried chicken in retaurants. It's unfortunate that this place is attempting to profit from the name Home of the Hoagie, a historical black female owned restaurant, yet they only supplicate the experience with poor quality. Didn't even know Home of the Hoagie used cheese. Quality is subtle like that. This place had their cheese sloppily added to the sandwhich. It's like they don't care about the community they are serving this crap too. It's really a bad look. Another "Hoagie" shop I didn't go to was also because the people making the food didn't seem like they even appreciated the food enough to replicate it with the care and degree that made their shop famous. If Mr. Cruz wants my business, take the time to replicate, at least the quality of Home of The Hoagie. All that great customer service doesn't help if your going to sell Greasy Spoon to make that quick dollar. Brought my friend from Europe here thinking it might be anything like Home of The Hoagie on 111th. You lost out on those dollars. Lost on some international good will. He's told his countrymen about Home of the Hoagie. Wanted to see if I could save some time by trying out your spot Cruz. Ended wasting time as the food was sooo terrible. Just feels disengenuous that you take the name to profit from it yet can't respect WHY they are considered the best. It's hard work that got them the coveted title. Else your name would be Cruz's Soul Carne Asada. Threw the 2nd sandwhich in the garbage without opening it. Fries both were the pre-frozen cheap stuff. Fries that I asked for sauce had hardly any! lol This is a greasy pop up. It won't last. Somebody got money, hired people they knew but failed to do anything else that could help their business. Home of the Hoagie is older than me for a reason! They are good. Even after the owner passed away. If you call ahead there's still some wait. After this horrendous experience, I'll wait in the long line, shut my mouth and like it.

I had received warm reheated fries with sauce but they weren't freshly cooked. They will…read moreacknowledge you when you enter the establishment majority of the time.

I was greeted by friendly employees at two counters, one for Andy's Sunflower cafe which sells coffee and tea, and one for food (Ain't She Sweet). I had no idea what to order so I asked the teammate at the counter and after discussing my spice tolerance, decided to go for the Jerk Chicken Wrap since it's so popular. It was a bit spicer than medium, which I was warned, but it was worth it. The chicken was juicy and tender and I was impressed by the freshness of the other ingredients as well as their tortilla wrap selection! The chicken gumbo was also quite tasty. I would order both again. The prices were reasonable, it was a $3 upcharge for a side of soup. I sat in the restaurant to eat and enjoyed the music. I think I might have found my new lunch spot!

The clam chowder didn't have a lot of cream to me, but the clams weren't tough. You know usually when you eat clam chowder, it kinda taste like you're chewing bubblegum. The clams were so tender!! I was very surprised. The banana cake is delicious and moist. It's heavenly!!!!!! My jerk wrap was amazing! The chicken was cooked perfectly and it didn't have too much jerk sauce on it so it wasn't salty. It was delicious. I highly recommend Ain't She Sweet Cafe at either location!!!

First time I came in got southwestern chicken soup. Spicy without being overwhelmingly hot. Lot better than progreessos version of the soup. And a grilled cheese that came with fries. Grilled cheese is an outstanding sandwich one that I don't eat as much since I'm not a kid anymore but it felt all warm, gooey brought back childhood memories. Second time I came got jerk chicken salad. Flavorful, zesty. The jerk chicken didn't have the taste from like an actual jerk place but I liked it. I got the Maplewood fat pug for a beverage. It also looks like they sell beer to go.

Food is fantastic. Price is high. Service from Nick (owner) was TERRIBLE…read more I was a long-time (20+ yr), loyal customer up til I was yelled at by Nick because I spoke up about consistently receiving orders much later than promised via online orders. I had placed many online orders for pick-up on my 30min lunch break, to ensure I had proper time to drive to, pick up my food, and quickly drive back from the restaurant. After a few pick-ups took around 20mins after promised time, I was pretty upset. I was told they only start making food once the person is there to pick it up, so I asked what's the point of placing an order online and receiving a pick-up time, when the food only starts to get made once you're at the restaurant to pick up? That's when the owner stepped in (My family and I have had many pleasant convos with him before at the old location), turned red, bunched up his face, and legit yelled at me "What do you expect? Do you want your fries to be cold or do you want them fresh?" (I was taken aback, and responded "I expect my order to be ready at the time indicated"). He told me I could go elsewhere. I get it. I was receiving consistently poor service and was upset when I asked the cashier about timing, so he stepped in to defend his worker. What I don't get is how you can tell a customer to go somewhere else when they're expecting their food at the time promised (or at least within 5 mins...I'm not THAT picky). Perhaps my expectations are too high?
