Honestly, might go to and favorite sushi spot out of anywhere else. The food is incredible. I always crave the Anna roll, and the nigiri is top-tier. Cannot go without getting calamari. Madison S. went above and beyond. Her service and knowledge of the menu is truly extraordinary. It really does make such a difference when the waiters have extensive menu knowledge and are able to answer any question you have as a new-comer. We are new to the area and already found our go-to sushi spot. My party and I were recommended the gyoza appetizer, the signature Harney Penos as a starter with misos with mushroom (great broth). The gyoza was golden brown and cooked perfectly, the stuffed jalapeños were delicious, and the misos with mushroom were a nice touch. We loved that we were given the option of deep frying, pan frying, or steamed with the preparation of the gyoza. We trusted madison with the rest of our order and were not disappointed. We got the sea bass truffle nigiri, tickle pink nigiri, sassy salmon nigiri, and the unwritten. Then came the award winning rolls The bruce lee and the Ana, and also the sea spider (she recommended truffle oil on top which was INCREDIBLE) and the Orange crush. David the Manager is terrific here!!! We are new to Oceanside & it was our girls weekend getaway. We walked the town looking for a place to just listen to music, dance & enjoy some pupus and drinks. David came by to talk with us- thanked us for being lively and told us about the following night was either Reggae or DJ choice and even said he'll RSVP a table for us!! Visited Oceanside for the 1st time and ate here our 1st night in town. I almost didn't due to the hostess. I asked her if the restaurant had a full bar and she said they didn't. The food is great! The cocktails are okay as is the service, but I'm still giving it 5-stars because this is the most fun sushi restaurant in Oceanside! The wait staff is very polite, but the service can be a little slow. I'm SUPER excited for the lounge that they're opening soon and will be back to hang there for sure. Rolls we loved: Culichi Wa, Bruce Lee, Ana, Rollz Royce and Mellow Yellow. Even my non-fish eating husband liked the Culichi Wa and Ana rolls. WoW. This is the only spot I get my sushi from when I'm in Oceanside! I just got back from vacation and ordered from here 3 times . I usually get the Philadelphia rolls. The salmon is so fresh and they always make the rolls perfect. You get a good amount of rolls per order too. I ordered some fried chicken rice for my mom the last time I went and she said it was too spicy for her. It had more of a bite than traditional fried rice. The atmosphere is great here! They had a band when I came in and it was busy. The restaurant and bathrooms and clean and the servers and hosts are very accommodating. Takeout took about 30 min and you can tell the food was fresh. Back in July or August 2022 we came here in the evening, our second time coming, as the food was decent although the music is loud and not a great ambiance. Wish I knew her name but our waitress from the Midwest was great but that was the only good thing about this night. Soon after we sat down, some random guy walked in and took a seat next to us without checking in with the host or anything. He proceeded to talk nonsense to himself and clearly was intoxicated on what I'm not sure. He then orders food, tells the waitress to pick a table and let them have it, odd but she agreed. He then walks out, without paying, which we were relieved because I was not sure what he was capable of and was clearly out of his mind. Now here's the disgusting part*** he either vomited or urinated, I'm not sure as there wasn't a smell but there was a liquid (not a drink was spilt) on the bench seat next to us. Next thing you know the kid busing tables comes by and starts wiping the mess up with a NON-DISPOSABLE towel. I tried to tell him that's some kind of bodily fluid and it needs to cleaned properly but he doesn't seem to understand English and I'm sure it didn't help that he was wearing earbuds either. I told the waitress who was going to tell him or did tell him but to my HORROR he was using that same towel to clean other tables!!!!! Plus he didn't even finish cleaning the nasty bench of the mystery liquid! It was still there waiting for the next unsuspecting customer to come sit on that filth. The location and ambiance is great. Went on an early Saturday night and had a DJ playing-we enjoyed that there was music. Staff was friendly but lagged on taking orders and bringing out food. This place is very overpriced, rolls were small and were $17-20 the most I've ever paid anywhere. The Sashimi was fine, chicken fried rice was bland, but disappointed in all 4 rolls we ordered. We sat asked if we can order that wasn't on the menu and the waitress says we have a full bar order what you want and we asked for 2 drinks they couldn't make it. Finally I asked for a drink that was on the menu and they didn't have any matcha. I ordered another drink from the menu the lychee martini it was so gross I couldn't even drink it. My friend ordered sake and wasn't impressed. The sushi bar and chef was nice and made everything perfect. Then we had to leave and the waitress took forever to let us pay our check. The feeling is one of courting power drinkers (as evidenced by the very drunk and belligerent men at the bar) and casual diners. Staff are easily overwhelmed by simple orders or any requests, but cheer customers who say they're there to drink a lot. Food is ok but not special. It's very obvious no one ever really orders anything but a few rolls as anything else seems to stymie the kitchen and the wait staff. Update on my review with my most recent experience as of tonight- I called (like I usually do) to place a to go order at 8 pm and was told "we aren't taking any to go orders right now" I have always placed them around this time of the night about every other night and never had an issue.
