This was my first experience at harness cycle. I LOVED it! They offered a free class for the community so I signed up with a friend and it was awesome. The instructors name was Gus. He was energetic and had a mix of music to hype you up during your ride! It was my first time so naturally I had no idea what I was doing. And the one girl helped me! So nice of her. Seems like a great community. I wish they would have 5am or 8pm classes. Maybe in the future. Prices for these types of classes are always on the more expensive side but it's honestly what you put into it. If you attend and work hard, your money for the class will be worth it. Location is in hingetown right next to saucy brew works. Clean inside. L opera available. Street parking. Shoe rental available for the bikes.

    I love this!

I was introduced to Harness by Yelp back in February and I have been keeping in touch ever since. This little gem is located in the up and coming Hingetown neighborhood. Most classes are 45 minutes of climbs and sprints to the beat of the music with some upper body work. The whole room is dark which really helps you get in the zone. You have the option of bringing/renting (3$) cycling shoes or wearing regular shoes. It is your choice but I recommend the cycling shoes. The Bike: When you go for your first ride show up a little early so you can figure out what the height of your seat should be, how close you should be to the handle bars and the comfortable height of the handle bars. The friendly instructors are always more than willing to help with this task. Signing up: These classes are a hot commodity and there is a science to getting in. The schedule for the week opens at noon on Mondays (you can buy a series package that will give you access to the schedule on Sundays at noon.) You basically need to be ready exactly at noon I have seen all the classes I want gone by 12:06pm. However, they do offer a waiting list and every time I have been on it I eventually got into the class. Cost: Classes are 15$ and they offer different packages on their website. They also offer happy hours classes on Fridays for 5$ and two free community rides (usually taught by an assistant instructor) during the week. I would suggest those classes if you are unsure about cycling or on a budget. Instructors: I've had so many of them at this point but I think my favorite is Kristin O. I just felt like she married yoga and cycling together in her class. All the instructors bring great energy and motivation. Most of them take the time to learn your name and really make you feel welcomed. The only criticism I have is some have a tendency to tell you how much time you have left in your ride. I know that motivates some but I would rather not know. Conclusion: take a ride at Harnesscycle you won't regret it!!

In case this review does not do Harness enough justice, go check out my reviews on their other location! PROS -Downtown location! Ever since they announced a downtown location, I had been patiently waiting for their new location to open. Living downtown, this is a shorter commute for me. And I can imagine that it's much more convenient for those working downtown to snag a bike before or after work, or even at lunch. And for those who need it - there are showers so you can get back to work-ready after your ride. -Great space. The new retail and locker space feels much bigger than their Hingetown space, so everyone's not on top of each other getting ready for class. The lockers are also pretty sweet - no need to bring your own locks and, if you bring a USB cord, you can charge your phone while you ride. -Same great ride. Even though there may be more bikes and the layout is different, you get the same great Harness ride that you get at the Hingetown location with the same great (and some new!) teachers. You still ride in the dark with the pack to the beat of the music. -Note to beginners. If you've never taken a spin class before, Harness is a great place to start. The trainers will set you up on the bike and walk you through the basics. And if you feel like you need a little extra help, they often have an introduction to spin class you can sign up for as well. CONS -Class schedule. Understandably, the downtown location has chosen classes that could appeal to both residents living and professionals working downtown. I prefer later classes (6:00p or later), so the schedule is not always ideal. But the good news is, Hingetown is not far away and I can always jump on a bike there! BOTTOM LINE -If you are new to Harness or it's your millionth ride, you will get a great ride with a great pack!

GROOVVERYDE WOODMERE IS NOW RYZE + GRIND…read more I cannot say enough about Ryze & Grind .. every time I'm in Cleveland this becomes my home gym. Todd runs this place like a well oiled machine without creating a cold environment. It's located on the second floor of the building, up the stairs and on the left (across from the water fountain). Just follow the sounds of music and laughter. COMMUNITY Everyone at this place is so damn friendly! My very first visit here an older lady with beautiful white hair (another member) told me exactly what I would need for the class and welcomed me personally. Every time you enter you're greeted (by name if Todd is behind the desk). They even hosted a community happy hour last week, providing food and drink tickets to everyone who went. I met so many new people who attended classes at different times so it was great! VARIETY No matter what you are into they have a class at a time that works for you: Barre, Spin, Bootcamp, Weightlifting, Circuit Training, Yoga, etc. My personal favorite is the REVOLUTION class, which combines spin and bootcamp, it is not for the weak lol. Beth and Todd usually teach this class and it is challenging every time. You typically need 3 sets of weights (light, medium and heavy) and you'll do as instructed in the allotted time before hopping on and off the bike for sprints and climbs . INSTRUCTORS When you enter you'll see some lovely new photos of every instructor. Todd is my favorite with Halley (yoga) a close second (her goose is very soothing). I love that they are all diverse, with unique styles and all have great playlists to push you through class. ENVIRONMENT The space is very well lit and I love the spin room with the LED lighting. With fresh paint and their recent rebranding, the place looks awesome. The large room they use for Circuit Training and Yoga holds assault bikes, row machines and a variety of dumbbells. They even have awesome merch, I'm interested in getting a shirt next time I go. Lockers, towels, hair ties, mints and ear plugs are always provided / available. Energy drinks are available for purchase. If you're looking for a new gym give this place a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Come ready to work cuz you'll definitely be a sweaty mess when you leave. ‍

This review is specifically for the downtown location (which doesn't have it's own listing)…read more I came here with some friends to try out a spin class. This place may be one of the best places to do it because you can get your first class free, how amazing is that? I have never been to a spin class and I was lowkey terrified. My goals were as follows: 1. Don't fall off the bike and 2. Don't stop pedaling until told to stop. Right from the start of just walking into this place everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. They relieved me of my nerves, answered all of my questions, and helped me set up my bike to my height and strap my feet in. I rented shoes for $2 because of the aforementioned, possibly irrational, fear of falling off of the bike. Kaitlin was our instructor and she was great, very energetic and encouraging. She also showed variations to some of the movements for those who were less experienced with spin classes (because let me tell you the getting up and sitting down movements are a lot harder than they look when you do them while pedaling) which I really appreciated. I was happy that the class also incorporated arm exercises and wasn't just leg focused. Did this class kick my butt? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. If you want to try a spin class - definitely come here. If you don't want to try a spin class but looking for something else? They have a number of different classes that all look fantastic - check out their website!

I received a free class thanks to the Class Pass App. which gives out a free 2-week pass to new members. The app. allows you to book several fitness classes from different gyms and studios. SPIN CLASS (between a 3 and a 4 star rating) -- I visited for an evening class in March 2023. The vibe/energy of the class wasn't as strong as I wanted. While the instructor (Maria Z.) was good, she wasn't too high energy the whole class. The class also started about 4 minutes late. I think if there were more people in the class that I would have had a better experience but there were alot of empty bikes inside which wasn't too encouraging to push myself harder as I biked. I noticed that I wasn't as excited throughout the whole class when I normally am very upbeat for a spin class and I don't think I was tired. It was just the slightly low-energy vibe of the class. There were only about 5 other women in the 6:30pm class (no men). From the number of people who came out of the 5:30pm class (males and females), there were alot more people in that class. The 5:30pm probably had more energy. SERVICE (5/5) -- This was good and I appreciated the instructor helping me set up my bike to the right seat position relative to my height. I was also given shoes for free to use (first class = free shoes) but I think normally you have to pay for shoes. I normally frequent Cycle Fly in Lakewood but Psycle is a fine option too. I just prefer Cycle Fly. **** - 35/150 total reviews in 2023 - 586 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 19 March 2023

Located in the Van Aken district, it's really an idyllic location. After class, you can grab a healthy bite at the neighboring Nature's Oasis and stroll the area to shop. Bonus: FREE garage parking! As I've stated in my Woodmere GrooveRyde review, SO many fitness studios claim inclusiveness but don't always practice it. GrooveRyde does. When you have a physical limitation, it's a giant leap to try something new and you almost always are disappointed. After trying my first class with Zosimo in Woodmere (and having him be respectful and kind towards limitations) I felt confident to come back and try Shaker Heights. I did a class with Jessica and she was beyond helpful. I arrived early and she was sweet enough to help me set up my bike and answer several questions. I can only vouch for the 50 minute cycling classes but reckon I may try yoga or other class offerings soon. I love that the lighting is kept dim and the wall fans are strategically placed in all four corners. I also appreciate that you get to choose your bike of choice when signing up for your class online. The bike assignments are also posted on the class door so there shouldn't be any confusion upon arriving. Towels are provided (another amen!) which is incredibly helpful because you WILL SWEAT.
