Harness Cycle has been a part of the Hingetown (Ohio City) community for years. More recently (a few years ago), Harness Cycle moved into the Vitrolite building dreamed up by the Harness' founder and her business partner. You'll find this indoor cycling studio on the first floor of Vitrolite. AMBIANCE: Enter into the lobby with reception and lockers. There's also a small shop. Go to the back room/cycling studio. The space is always pristine, has a lot of natural light, and lack of clutter. It's like a little getaway to go to the Vitrolite - experience Patron Saint Cafe for after ride bites (accessible from the same building), unwind at the Soul Space yoga studio (same building, second floor), connect at the Matriarchy (same building, second floor). Venture out in the neighborhood too - Verbena for mocktails, Larder for forged menu items, Risng Star for a good cup of coffee, Roaming Biscuit for best biscuits in the city. STUDIO: I routinely visit the space for events. However, I haven't cycled in the new space, just old space a while ago. This was my first cycling studio. I knew absolutely nothing about cycling (don't even ride a bike), I went super hard during class and had a tons of fun. As a newbie, I did not feel intimidated. The website easily guided me through bike reservation and shoe rental prices were known upfront. I was able to remain in the back. The class was high energy and fun! The studio has a website page dedicated to the newbies to make the process less intimidating. The place is great if you're a beginner! SERVICE: The service at Harness is always friendly. I feel like I can always ask the most simplistic questions and get responses in a patient, friendly manner. Beyond just friendly service, the team here built a community. People don't rush out of the space but rather linger and connect. People form friendships in this space. There are plenty of events for Runners Club and others to further foster community. It's truly a place where you'll find your people. MEMBERSHIPS: The studio allows drop in rides and memberships. Circle Memberships offer anywhere from 12 rides per month to 12 rides per year. The memberships are priced $88-$288 per month which is comparable to gym pricing at top tier gyms. You'll get different perks like free shoes and guest privileges. A few of my friends have memberships (live in Hingetown), and really love their experiences. I'll be joining this year to once again experience SISU sauna! SISU SAUNA: Seasonally, Harness Cycle partners with SISU Sauna. The Finnish mobile sauna is transported to the patio. You can visit the sauna as a member before or after your ride. You just have to let the front desk know, usually first come first serve basis. The sauna is about 200 degrees and can fit about six people comfortably. A lot of people walk in their gym clothes and find it comfy, I also go in a swimsuit. I've been to this sauna multiple times and remain obsessed. It has perfect dry heat, cedar aroma, and just transports you. I'm sauna connoisseur and highly approve of this one! The urban sauna experience is so fun! I always anxiously await SISU's return! It's literally the best part of my year! PARKING: There is no dedicated parking. You can find street parking in the area but plan for extra time. Other options include Church and State parking garage, Transformer Station (hours might be restricted), and parking lot by the Quarter. The latter parking lots are paid via app. I highly recommend this space if you're looking for community. EAT. SLEEP. RIDE. REPEAT. INTERIOR -- This is an AMAZING studio! They have one medium-size spinning studio and a small retail space in the lobby. The retails space sells tops, leggings, and other small items. There is also bathrooms and showers. The cycling studio has towels on all the bikes which is helpful because you will or should SWEAT alot while riding. I visited the Ohio City/Hingetown location on 4 June 2019 (Tuesday) and 7 June 2019 (Friday). I had free classes to use thanks to my friend Leslie N. who is a member. I was so happy to experience Harness Cycle because right now, the prices of the classes aren't in my budget. CLASS EXPERIENCE -- I had a wonderful time spinning. The classes here are 45 minutes long. The instructors I had for both classes were filled with high energy and they used great music. I noticed more women than men in the classes so I'm not sure why that is because spinning is a great cardio workout. The class format takes you through a warm up, a spinning session of uphills and downhills with some sprints mixed in sometimes, and then a cool down. Before the cool down, you'll do some weight exercises with mini dumbbells (for the arm muscles) - this lasts for about 5 minutes. The dumbbells are only 3 pounds which is much lighter than what I'm used to using. The light weights are used because you will be balancing your body on a bike as you do these weight exercises. Plus, you'll do plenty of repetitions so you'll still get to tone your arms anyway. The weights are always my favourite part of class in all the spinning class I've taken in the past in other cities because I love lifting weights. CLASS SETUP -- The instructor will help you set up your bike so if you don't know how to do so, just ask. You also need bike shoes which are $3 each. This is the only thing I don't like about the studio because $3 can add up. I wish the studio provided complimentary bike shoes instead of making riders pay for them. However, if you want to come here often, it is best to buy your own cycling shoes. You need the kind of shoes that clip on (snap) unto the bike. You can't just use regular sneakers on the bikes. If you're new, there is a waiver you have to sign that releases the studio from any liability if you get injured. Nearly all gyms or fitness studios have this liability waiver. LOCATIONS -- In addition to the Ohio City location, they also have a location downtown which I've been to as well (free class) thanks "The Beauty Boost" organization hosting a female fitness gathering. PARKING -- There is street parking only so try to arrive to class 10 mins early to find a good parking spot. NEIGHBOURHOOD -- The spin studio is in a lovely area of Cleveland called Ohio City. The new Quarter apartments on Detroit Ave. is less than a 3 min walk away. After class, stop on by Beet Jar JuiceBar on the same street to try their signature Bravacado sandwich (vegan), a protein ball, or a refreshing juice. Bigmouth donuts is another option if you are craving something sweet. It is located on W. 29th street (the same street as the spin studio) and the donut I have tried there (Lemon Raspberry) is yummy. I love the energy I get after taking a spinning class. So many good endorphins are released from the body after exercising. I encourage you to come here if you want to burn calories and sweat. This was my first experience at harness cycle. I LOVED it! They offered a free class for the community so I signed up with a friend and it was awesome. The instructors name was Gus. He was energetic and had a mix of music to hype you up during your ride! It was my first time so naturally I had no idea what I was doing. And the one girl helped me! So nice of her. Seems like a great community. I wish they would have 5am or 8pm classes. Maybe in the future. Prices for these types of classes are always on the more expensive side but it's honestly what you put into it. If you attend and work hard, your money for the class will be worth it. I was introduced to Harness by Yelp back in February and I have been keeping in touch ever since. This little gem is located in the up and coming Hingetown neighborhood. Most classes are 45 minutes of climbs and sprints to the beat of the music with some upper body work. The whole room is dark which really helps you get in the zone. You have the option of bringing/renting (3$) cycling shoes or wearing regular shoes. It is your choice but I recommend the cycling shoes. The Bike: When you go for your first ride show up a little early so you can figure out what the height of your seat should be, how close you should be to the handle bars and the comfortable height of the handle bars. The friendly instructors are always more than willing to help with this task. Signing up: These classes are a hot commodity and there is a science to getting in. The schedule for the week opens at noon on Mondays (you can buy a series package that will give you access to the schedule on Sundays at noon.) You basically need to be ready exactly at noon I have seen all the classes I want gone by 12:06pm. However, they do offer a waiting list and every time I have been on it I eventually got into the class. Cost: Classes are 15$ and they offer different packages on their website. They also offer happy hours classes on Fridays for 5$ and two free community rides (usually taught by an assistant instructor) during the week. I would suggest those classes if you are unsure about cycling or on a budget. Instructors: I've had so many of them at this point but I think my favorite is Kristin O. I just felt like she married yoga and cycling together in her class. All the instructors bring great energy and motivation. Most of them take the time to learn your name and really make you feel welcomed. The only criticism I have is some have a tendency to tell you how much time you have left in your ride. I left a review for the Harness Cycle studio in Ohio City, but thought the downtown location could also use some love. I LOVE Harness for its insanely fun workouts, tight-knit community, charismatic instructors, and friendly management. I only take classes once a week, because I know I personally can't handle so much intense cardio. But DAMN, the post-workout endorphins I get from class are amazing. You can't go wrong with any of the instructors. So far, I've taken classes with Natalie, Logan, Maggie, Alyssa, and Sara. Nothing but positive things to say about the energy they give off during class, as well as their killer playlists. Today was my first visit to the downtown location and I am in LOVE. I work downtown so this location is perfect for me. The space is bright with lofted ceilings so it feels big but still cozy, the same feeling that you get from the Hingetown location. There are plenty of lockers (all with a built-in lock), showers (2 for women...can't vouch for the men), two separate changing rooms, towel service (for the classes AND showers), and plenty of water stations to fill your bottles. They offer fewer classes downtown, probably just because of location & limited parking (damn, is parking ever limited downtown), but they also run the majority of their larger events at the downtown location, which is bright, open, & very modern- & sleek-feeling. Located with The Garfield, an upscale apartment complex, this Harness location has a very different overall vibe from the original spot - but it also still has that intimate, community-driven Harness feel that makes the original location so beloved. The downtown location is perfect if you live or work downtown or are in town on business. Walk-ins are welcome but advance sign-up is encouraged, just in case classes are full, & you can rent shoes for just a couple bucks, if you don't have your own. Bottled water is available for $2, showers & lockers are free, & they provide complimentary earplugs, hair ties, & mints at the front desk, should you need them. Before or after class, get your shop on in their retail space, which sells Lululemon workout gear, Harness branded products, headbands, socks, & location spa goods. I love this cycle place! Whenever work brings me to Cleveland, this is my go to spot for my workouts. It's conveniently located close to everything in the city! And my SPD cycle shoes work with their bikes so I can use my own shoes. They also have shoe rentals for those that don't have their own. And they sell Lululemon so that's always a plus. read more

I've been coming to the Harness Cycle studio in Hingetown for a little over a year. I absolutely love the classes and the instructors, and while I was excited that they were expanding to a new location in 2017, I was also a bit wary of the parking situation. For those that don't work downtown and can't easily walk to get here, E 6th might be a bit of a challenge to get to. The first time I came I gave myself my usual 10 minutes to find parking, put my stuff in a locker and set up my bike, however I ended up not finding a parking spot and missing the class. The next couple times I came really early and was able to find a spot. Given all the construction currently happening on E 6th, it's expected that there will be some hiccups, but all that being said, the new studio is absolutely gorgeous. It is most definitely an improvement on the original location, and I say that with a lot of love for the Hingetown studio. I think they've definitely taken some of the downsides of Hingetown and improved upon them with their Downtown location. One of the biggest things I noticed is that there are two separate doors to the actual cycle room. Why is this important you ask? If you've ever visited the Hingetown location, you'll notice that where there's two classes back to back it's absolute mayhem getting from the doorway to the lockers to the studio because there's only one doorway, so everything bottlenecks right there. With the two doorways at the downtown locations, those that need to shower can exit the door that's closest, and those that leave straightaway can leave the opposite door... problem solved! I also noted that even though the restroom is a shared space, there seems to be a lot more room. Lastly, the lockers are down a really long corridor with a nice view of E 6th and there's plenty of room to squeeze by someone if they are getting into the lockers. All in all, the studio is very beautiful and I love that they've created spaces for people to sit and talk before or after class. As for the classes themselves, the studio is rigged for sound and I love how the bass really shakes the room during an intense class. You have the same awesome teachers and same amazing energy. I'm still a little bummed that they don't offer unlimited months, but they did offer a few good specials when the downtown studio first opened which I definitely took advantage of. Whenever I find myself getting a bit stressed from work, I know I'm due for a spinning session. I would say the only downside to this location is parking, but again give yourself some extra time if you can and you should be okay! read more

Ever since they announced a downtown location, I had been patiently waiting for their new location to open. Living downtown, this is a shorter commute for me. And I can imagine that it's much more convenient for those working downtown to snag a bike before or after work, or even at lunch. And for those who need it - there are showers so you can get back to work-ready after your ride. -Great space. The new retail and locker space feels much bigger than their Hingetown space, so everyone's not on top of each other getting ready for class. The lockers are also pretty sweet - no need to bring your own locks and, if you bring a USB cord, you can charge your phone while you ride. -Same great ride. Even though there may be more bikes and the layout is different, you get the same great Harness ride that you get at the Hingetown location with the same great (and some new!) teachers. You still ride in the dark with the pack to the beat of the music. -Note to beginners. If you've never taken a spin class before, Harness is a great place to start. The trainers will set you up on the bike and walk you through the basics. And if you feel like you need a little extra help, they often have an introduction to spin class you can sign up for as well. CONS -Class schedule. Understandably, the downtown location has chosen classes that could appeal to both residents living and professionals working downtown. I prefer later classes (6:00p or later), so the schedule is not always ideal. But the good news is, Hingetown is not far away and I can always jump on a bike there! BOTTOM LINE -If you are new to Harness or it's your millionth ride, you will get a great ride with a great pack! read more

I was an original fan of the Harness Cycle in Hingetown and now a fan of this location too. This new space is really gorgeous. It's modern, spacious, bright, and shiny! Girls at the front desk are friendly and always ready to help it seems like. Lockers, showers, towels and everything you need to get out after a class. There are some retail items available as well. I think they had a lot more brands before that I was interested in but seems like they downsized their selection. My favorite part about this location is that I'm able to walk here! Parking isn't that great (the one time I drove here) but maybe they'll have something worked out with one of the garages in due time. The Hingetown studio holds a special place in my heart but this location is definitely worth seeing! read more

For your first class Harness recommends getting to the studio 15 minutes before. However, I would suggest 20 minutes for anyone that has never been to the studio/spinning. I say this because your first class you need to make sure that you have the right size for your shoes, which if you are renting cost $3, learn the setup of the studio, figure out the right height of your bike, and learn to clip in and out of the pedals. The nice thing about Harness is that if you notify the front desk that you are new to spinning they will take you through these steps and help you set up your bike. I would note that after your first class you are going to be very sore and exhausted. My first class I thought I was fine until I unclipped from the pedals. My legs were shaking and the whole next week my legs were sore. I had trouble sitting and walking. To alleviate this issue I began to stretch for ten minutes before and after class. I highly suggest that anyone taking a spin class do this. I found that while the spin class did end with stretching it did not fully stretch the muscles that I needed to stretch. I do not have many negatives about Harness. Since taking my first class I have continued to go to spinning class once a week at Harness. But, one down side is the $5 reward you receive for completing 5 classes. This reward is based off of how many classes you do not how many you pay for. Unfortunately, for me I was unable to attend a class I had signed up for so I transferred the class to my brother. So my brother received the reward despite me paying for the class. In other words I wish that the reward was based on the amount of classes that you paid for, not the actual participation. Also, I wish that they offered more beginner classes. About once a month Harness offers a free beginner class to go over basics. However, I have never been able to get into a class because they fill up so fast. Harness is one of the reasons that I have lost 35 pounds! My whole family and a couple friends all have tried out Harness or have become regulars. It is spinning with a yoga type atmosphere! They ride to the beat of the music - which is awesome, and the spinning workout really targets the whole body! Anne and her staff try to make sure that everyone is getting what they need to out of the workout. Towels are supplied, shoes can be rented, and occasionally there are freebies - Rising Star Coffee or chill pops! In addition, they really are trying to build a community - with free yoga on Sundays and Running the Bridges on Wednesdays! The new Harness Cycle digs is UH-mazing! The building is beautiful and in the perfect location for those that live/work in the heart of downtown Cleveland. They're running a few community ride promotions [FREE RIDES!] so hop on 'em before this place is slammed this winter. The space has a unique touch to it with beautiful architecture, plenty of locker room space and two showers (in the womens) with shampoo/conditioner and blow dryers. So I workout a lot. I run, I do yoga, I box. You name it, I'll try it. That is, except for spinning. I haaaaaate spinning. Or I guess really I just hate stationary bikes. I despise them. Or at least so I thought. I only ever used to use stationary bikes when I was in college. I was by myself, listening to some barely audible radio station over the gym speakers, I was surrounded by bros and cardio bunnies, and I was facing a concrete wall. Needless to say it didn't exactly motivate me to keep going. I think the longest I had ever actually managed to stay on a bike was all of 5 minutes. Then I discovered Hingetown, and with that Harness. To this day I don't know what on earth motivated me to sign up for a class. Maybe it was the cool logo and sweet apparel, or maybe it was the infectious personalities that work there. Either way, they got me in the door. I was a little nervous right before my first class... who am I kidding, I was really nervous. This was a level of cardio far beyond me, and I didn't want to look stupid. Thankfully the instructors and fellow patrons were so nice and accommodating. They walked me through setting my bike up, gave me a tour of the facility, and reassured me that I could do this. They were right. Once the music started pumping I was instantly hooked. Sure, it was tough, but the encouragement and motivation I got from the instructor throughout the class kept me going. Before I knew it the 45 minute class was over. After that, I haven't missed a week. I typically go at 5:30am on wednesday and once either Saturday or Sunday if I can manage. I love it here. Every time I leave I feel empowered, and excited to start my day. Not to mention Harness is doing a lot for the community and bringing people together, and we all know I am a huge advocate for Cleveland. I love Harness Cycle! I've been a regular for about 3 years now and it is still a great workout after all the classes I've taken. Each instructor is so different, so I recommend trying out as many of them as you can to find whom you fit best with. They offer a ton of classes at very convenient times for the average working person. The studio is clean and welcoming. Everyone knows my name. The workout is intense but you can tailor it to your fitness level. Not only do you spin it you also do push-ups on the bike and lift light weights. Harness is also very engaged with the community and neighborhood and they participate and host various events. They're really committed to creating a community based on movement and fitness and helping people live healthy. I do wish they did a monthly unlimited package rather than set number of classes, but that's really my only complaint. Definitely get to Harness for a workout! read more

After happily riding my bike all summer long, I sadly packed my bike up the winter (Yes, I'm too chicken to ride in the cold and ice!). So I was beyond excited when Yelp announced the Yelp Quirks out events, and they included a spin class at Harness Cycle. Sign me up! The first thing to mention about Harness Cycle is how nice everyone was. They were all helpful and friendly, making sure our bikes were well adjusted and that we all had proper footwear (The bikes at Harness have clipped pedals, so they have a selection of compatible shoes). Then we were off and spinning! The studio itself is really cool. They keep the room dark, which is awesome if you are at all self-conscious. Then there are lots of fans around the room, and speakers to pump in some lively music. Our instructor was also great, keeping everyone motivated and giving clear instructions. Having been to a few spinning classes before, I can easily say that Harness Cycle is my favorite studio. I will go back for another class as soon as I possibly can, and highly recommend it to everyone else! read more

AMAZING! I was visiting Cleveland for a weekend and stopped in on Saturday morning for a ride with Danielle. The space is beautiful and the class was awesome. High energy, great music, and an awesome workout. Everyone was super friendly and helpful showing me around and Danielle took the time to introduce herself to everyone she didn't know before class and called out words of encouragement during class. Very welcoming place. I did the 101 intro class; it cost just $25 for 1.5hr of instruction, bike set up and a 30-minute ride plus a free water bottle or reusable shopping bag. Making it a really good deal, the price also included your first real class after the 101 which they let you book in studio before anyone else so you are sure to get the date/time you want - something that may become a future problem for people not buying the 20-class package which comes with early registration privileges. If you are an early riser the 530a/6a usually have space open. I've not experienced all the instructors yet, but I liked the couple that I have already. The music is good and for the overwhelming majority of the time I really feel it helps me go where the instructor has intended. The classes here are quite different than the ones I've experienced at the gym I go to. These classes include a lot of out of saddle time, a lot of "jumps" and the use of 3lb dumbbells for delivering quite the bi/tri/shoulder burn. A few other smaller aspects of the studio earn it five stars. They rent shoes for just $3 and are willing to put the small charge on a card instead of just taking cash. They have a free water bottle refill station. They offer two shower areas as well as two bathrooms if you need to change or shower after an early morning class on your way to work. (The space is pretty small though so if you have any pre-ride prep you need to do get there a bit early.( I also love that you reserve the exact bike you want online in advance. I for example hate the ones over the air vents (#30) so I can be sure to avoid it. read more

I began going to Harness the past couple of weeks and have fallen in love with the studio - If you want an intense and sweaty work out - this is your place. The instructors are all great and super motivating. I love how they let you know their go-to music on the website as well. I've tried SoulCycle a few times in LA - and this is basically the exact same thing - only cheaper! :) When it was my first time - they did a really excellent job of introducing me to the place, helping me get my bike set up and help clipping in my shoes. I took my first ever spin class here through a Yelp Elite event which was geared towards beginners. I really enjoyed the experience, so thought I would start going to the spin class offered at the gym where I'm already a member. I quickly realized how good I had it over at Harness Cycle...there was a NIGHT AND DAY difference between the quality of the class, how much fun you'll have, and the welcoming & encouraging nature of the instructors. I vowed to never go anywhere but Harness Cycle again, and just enjoyed my second class this morning! Thank you for lifting your students up no matter what skill level! I'm going to start with the obvious: if you're wondering if Harness is more expensive than a spin class at your local gym, you are probably right. However, as someone who has tried both, I can guarantee you that Harness is SO much better. Super friendly staff, amazing (and challenging) instructors, a great storefront inside, and honestly the best cardio workout I've ever gotten. I love that the owner of Harness is a Cleveland native and a great role model for other women! My favorite instructors are Spies, Sam and Danielle. Spies and Danielle are probably the best for someone trying spinning for the first time. Harness also offers Spinning 101 classes frequently to teach beginners the basics, and there are also discounted classes for new riders, so plenty of options! I was visiting from out of town and had lunch plans downtown and was excited to see I'd be able to squeeze in a noon ride at Harness. I had a little bit of trouble finding the entrance to the studio (I did not know they were located in the lobby of The Garfield) but after a quick call the friendliest desk attendant was able to point me in the right direction. Checking in was a breeze; they had my cycling shoes ready for me, asked if I was new to the studio, and gave me a brief tour of the beautiful space. The instructor Allyson was awesome and made sure I had my bike set up properly before class. The ride was invigorating, challenging, and centering all things you could hope for in a great ride. Other studies in the Cleveland area did not have shoe rentals or towel services and I feel these details really set Harness apart. I can't wait to ride with them again on my next visit to Cleveland. read more

Thanks to the yelp quirks out series I am hooked. This place is just great. 5 are hard to get out of me because I feel there is always room for improvement. This spot has everything I need and want out of a workout plus Great teachers and great music. I would like to complain that the classes I want fill up quick but that would just be my jealousy talking. I've been going to Harness for about a year now. I started by signing up for the 101 class with Danielle. I have to admit that I was very nervous about trying something new, but she immediately made me feel comfortable and relaxed. In the 101 class you learn proper bike set-up, terminology, form, and then have a shorter 30-minute ride. You also get a tote and early booking for your next class--all for $25! I was immediately hooked and have been a regular ever since. There are a variety of class times to accommodate almost any schedule and the instructors are fantastic, upbeat, motivating, and friendly. In each class you ride to the beat of the music in the dark, which really helps you focus and tune out the distractions of the outside world. One of the best parts about each class is the use of 3-lb free weights, which create an extra challenge and help with muscle building. I would highly recommend either renting spin shoes ($3) or you can purchase a pair through the studio and they will install the SPD clips for you. They do offer cages for regular athletic shoes but having done both, I can say there is a huge difference with the spin shoes and it makes for a much more comfortable and effective ride. The studio also provides towels and hair ties (which I've made use of several times!!) Bookings open every Monday at noon, unless you purchase the 20 class package. The classes fill up SUPER fast, but if you end up on a waitlist, don't worry, enough people cancel at the last minute that you will very likely get in. I haven't been to other spin studios in the area, so I can't really compare Harness to anything else, but I can say that my experience there has been extremely positive and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a fun full-body workout. read more

Harness is a lot like SoulCycle with a more "Ohio/local" feel to it! Every time I go, I walk out feeling tired but refreshed and ready to take on anything! My current favorite instructor is Andria but I haven't been to all of the instructors yet. If you are in the mood for a fun but challenging workout, I would definitely recommend Harness. Love! It has become a tradition of my boyfriend and mine to stop in while in town visiting family. Always a great time and killer workout. We leave DRIPPING in sweat! The front desk staff is always welcoming and helpful. Our first time attending we were given a tour of the small but stylish space. Instructors are well aware of who is new and more than willing to help set up bikes for first timers. I would recommend checking online before going to class to ensure a bike is available. Great place to catch a spin class! They have free towels and a water bottle station. You can rent the click in cycling shoes (yes, that's a technical term). The instructor was knowledgeable, upbeat, and encouraging. She was more than willing to help out novice riders. The ride was challenging but went by quickly. I liked that there was a song that incorporated an arm workout with small weights. The music was great - and the room is dark, so don't be timid! read more

Before I even came to the studio for my first ride I had great customer service. I had a couple of questions about my first visit so I sent a message over Facebook and Gina took time Christmas night to answer them promptly. Plenty of parking on Detroit or W 29th. Cool neighborhood. I was immediately greeted by Sam, who was very friendly and accommodating. The lobby is large and full of awesome branded retail and such. First time riders should get there 15 minutes early to sign a waiver, get shoes (free your first time) and get acquainted with the studio. Water is $2 a bottle but they also provide a filtered water fountain if you bring your own bottle. They have lockers with digilocks like most gyms to store your gear. One solo shower, one solo bathroom and one combination shower/bathroom. Towels for class are provided. The instructor, Sarah Filipic, was setting new riders up on their bikes. Once we were all ready, she killed the lights and we were off! Warm up, sprints in and out of the saddle, hills...you name it. We did some choreography on the bikes like tap backs and push ups as well. 2 songs were dedicated to arms with movements like bicep curls, etc. No obliques, though. Sarah was full of smiles, energy and humor, challenging us to turn up the resistance and motivating us to keep pushing forward. I appreciated how she reminded us to keep our core engaged. She emphasized riding to the rhythm and a sense of community - riding together as a pack. Loved that. Music selection was good, with some seriously fast bpms for crazy crack jogs! Unbeknownst to me, I also happened to be riding next to another instructor named Katie Spies. Her energy motivated me to push even harder and her perfect form kept me in check. Can't wait to take her class! 45 minutes flew by. I had a great experience at Harness. The studio was exceptionally clean and customer service was on point. The class was challenging and fun. I've already booked my next class for tomorrow! read more

I attended Harness cycle for the first time recently and participated in the house ride during their happy hour on Friday which cost only 5 dollars. To rent their cycling shoes, which I highly recommend, was an extra three dollars which you pay when you get there. It was an absolute blast!!! Allow me to start with the process of signing up. I had not purchased a class series pack so I was just attending as a drop in. When you visit their website, you must register online. The schedule for the week opens at noon on Mondays and you HAVE to be ready to sign up right at noon to ensure a spot. If not you will be placed on their wait list. There are times I tried to sign up at 12:07 and classes were filled. It is that popular! The studio is located in Hingetown so it was very convenient for myself since I am a downtown resident. The studio supplies towels, a nice water fountain, and cubbies to put things at no cost. The class itself was an amazing workout and an all around great time. I had Katie S. and she was extremely outgoing and motivated. She played really upbeat, loud music to keep you going and almost allowed you to forget you were getting such a good workout. The lights are dimmed during the work out, which I really liked because it allowed each rider to really focus and not daze off. During the ride we did all sorts of speeds, movements and even an arm workout. The only thing I wish the teacher had addressed was what she meant when she said "tap it" through out the lesson. She kind of treated this class as if everyone had participated before and I had not. I kind of picked up that it meant to turn the nob to increase resistance and to turn it a full rotation when she says that. Other then that I have no other complaints and really liked the experience. The studio itself it very girly and fun. There are some really adorable workout clothes and accessories in the front. I will definitely continue cycling here weekly. read more

I was invited to a free event by the studio on 04/18/19. The instructor was great. She had tons of energy and she pedaled very fast. It was fun to challenge myself and keep up with her. I burnt almost a 1000 calories in just 45 mts (as per my fitbit). So, you can imagine how good the instructor 's energy was. Overall, I enjoyed the 45 mt session and would recommend the studio to anyone looking to lose some serious weight. Unfortunately I dont live closeby, otherwise, I would have gotten a pack with them!
