I've taken barre classes before in the past but it has been a while since I took one so I couldn't wait to lift and tone my body. CLASS -- The instructor was awesome. I can't remember her name but I think it was Becky. She started off class with a quick 5-min warmup, a 45 min class, and then a 10-min cool down. The class consisted of small movements which are effective to strengthen the core and lengthen the body. We did pushups, held planks, used weights, and then used the bar (a wood rod thing) to do leg lifts and a type of squat exercise that ballerina's do. You don't have to be a fitness pro or super fit to attend the class. I normally prefer high-intensity classes that incorporate weights and cardio but barre was a nice change. It is a good option for cross-training. The class is meant for all levels so for example, if you don't want to pick up weights then you don't have to use it. SERVICE -- I felt welcomed at this studio and the front desk staff member was friendly. Since my friend and I were new, after class, the front desk person explained the membership options to us. It is about $69 a month for 4 classes which is not within my budget right now. One class is $25. I recommend Pure Barre Rocky River studio or any of their locations. This is an exercise class that you can manage and isn't too strenuous. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly face and was explained how everything would happen in the class! I was nervous to come alone but even the people taking the class welcomed me and made sure I was comfortable. Emmanuelle walked me through everything and was attentive, couldn't have asked for a better instructor. They are apart of the class pass through Cleveland so I can't wait to come back. My son was a member broke his thumb and was not allowed to cancel his membership. How money hungry…read moremust you be to have a broken thumb and still make you pay for boxing classes? They still kept his membership active even after asking him to pay with a broken thumb. He continued to pay. Once I noticed he called again and went in, spoke to the owner RJ who had him fill out paperwork to cancel. He did. Then charges started back up a couple months later. He is now in Colorado he has called, wrote the owner an email. No response. He has disputed the charges but just horrible service. Buyer beware.

Her persistence finally wore me down this past May, and she bribed... errrr convinced me to attend a class with her. By the end of the 8 round class with trainer RJ I was hooked. As a former collegiate athlete who had really let himself go, because well... Chipotle... this was what I needed. Now, not only am I a member, but our kids are too. I even train individually once a week with trainer Matt who is amazing. Matt, Wilkins, RJ, and all of the trainers truly love what they do and it shows. If you want to change your life for the better and challenge yourself while doing it, set aside your fears and doubts and attend a class. They'll even let you try it out for 3 days before you commit.

I moved to Austin, TX in December and called to cancel my membership, after attempting to cancel online and being unable to find that option. It went to voicemail and I left a message. I never heard back from them, and ended up getting charged again in January. I called again and emailed requesting the charge be removed. Again, no response. I got charged AGAIN in February. I emailed again providing the past details and requesting the January and February charges be removed. Still no response when low and behold, I WAS CHARGED IN MARCH. Once in January is one thing. I get it, your busy, it happens in February, that stinks and a I'm a little put out. But there is no excuse now. I have been charged over and over, all the while attempting to follow up directly with the business. I attempted to be proactive and cancel prior to being charged at all to avoid this whole mess, to no avail. Now I am stuck with all the work of disputing these charges with my bank.
