WOW! I don't even know where to start - this place is heaven on earth. Walking in for my first class, I was welcomed by Becca. She is SO friendly, down to earth and helpful. She got me checked in, found the right shoes for me and showed me my locker (which has your name on it for newbies!) She got me locked into my bike and set everything up for the perfect ride. The bike came with a dry towel ready to go and slots for both a water bottle and phone! The class itself (Connect) was so energizing and fun. Courtney has a positive attitude and took the time to say hi prior and ask me about my experience after. I didn't feel pressured to keep up, but the music was so upbeat that I naturally did. I will definitely be eyeing her schedule for future classes! After the staff had wet towels to help you cool down - such a sweet touch after a gnarly sweat. Becca took her time to ask about my interests and get to know me more. I don't know about you, but that 100% makes a difference in my decision to come back. I heard they also have great bathrooms with goodies like dry shampoo and great lighting if you are on the go after your class. If my review wasn't apparent enough, I was over the moon with my experience! I signed up for 8 classes a month right after. Wow! I was visiting from out of town and decided to check out Cyclebar to get in a workout. The owner greeted me as soon as I walked in to sign up. Keep in mind this was at 5:45am in the morning. He was able to get me situated and walk me through the studio. The studio was modern and clean with a nice free locker room area. In addition they had water on tap (lol) and coffee for after class. My instructor was Courtney. The class had about 10 people in it (super early! I was impressed) with a range of fitness levels. Courtney did an awesome job of waking us up and pushing us through. What I loved is that she continued to motivate us through the workout vs telling us when to change our gears/etc. The music was also lit!! I was jamming to every song and continued to ride to the beat! Overall the class was amazing and a fun way to workout while having fun and continuing to push myself. If I lived in Beachwood I would definitely become a regular at CycleBar! Do yourself a favor and wake up for Courtney's 6am class!!! read more

WOW what an interesting concept. Stationary bikes made fun. Never though I would be a stationary bike kind of guy. Well when you have pieces of meniscus taken from both knees it's a good idea to incorperate less impactful exercise programs. Biking is great as far as that is concerned. It also helps strenghen the surrounding muscles as well. Boom stationary biking is now a part, of my fitness régimen. And by golly it's boring. The kind folks at Cycle bar have taken some of that monotony out of the equation and make it a party. They accomplish this by blasting music, showing how much energy you are producing and present that on a board electronic board comparing you and your fellow stationary bike enthusiasts. So basically if the loud music is not enough, an enthusiastic instructor is not a enough, well what no better than shame is more motivating. I had the opportunity to try this method durring a fitness crawl. Much to my surprise it was kind of fun. I liked to so much that I started to take these classes up at my work gym. What I can say is the cycle bar is much nice, louder and mor comfortable that what they have up at the gym. My butt hurt like hell after I completed my class at work. I've been to many spin classes over the years and the classes here are some of my favorite. The studio is similar to a Soul Cycle studio. After you check in and choose a bike, you can pick up spin shoes to borrow. In the area by the lockers, there is a "bar" set up that has cold towels, hair ties, breath mints, ear plugs (all the essentials!), plus bananas and apples and a beer-style tap of either cold water or room temperature water. In the actual studio, there are two large screens (one on each side) that play music videos during most of the class. I find the classes seem to go faster by watching the music videos!There are soft weighted bars on the handlebars of every bike that are used during the arm workout part of the class. (What is great about having a weighted bar instead of individual hand weights is that there is less worry about hitting your neighbor because the workout has less of a space requirement). What is really neat is that all of the bikes are interconnected electronically and the two screens will cut to a leaderboard during a race (there are usually 6 or so races during the class that can range from 15-45 seconds). During the races, you compete against everyone else in the class based on how hard you pedal and how much resistance you use. After the class, you will receive an email telling you your stats for the class overall. It's fun to compare your stats between classes to see how you are doing. I found a good deal on classes at this studio with a Groupon, but what is also helpful to know is that your first class there is free (you'll get a free water bottle too) and they also have deals for new members. read more

This is a great studio if you're looking for a fun and challenging spin class. The interior of the facility is like new. Plenty of lockers available to store your personal gear while you get your sweat on. I love the ice & room temperature water on (draft) tap to keep you hydrated before and after. They even have coffee for you after your morning class. There is a small selection of CB branded athletic wear for purchase if you want to really dive deep into the CB culture, or just forget your workout clothes one day. If you're a morning person, or even if you're not, get your butt up to take Courtney R.'s 6am MWF classes. Her playlists are always on point and she does her best to get you energized and pushing past your fitness goal. Let me tell you, it's not easy to get people excited about working out at 6 am but Courtney manages to do it. Will definitely be back for more of her booty kickin' enthusiasm. They do not have showers like some other studios, so don't plan on getting a workout in before work without stopping back home first. read more

Just took my first CycleBar class and loved my experience from when I walked into the door till I left drenched in sweat. I had done cycling classes before at a local gym, but it was nowhere near as intense and fun. The gym is super clean and has all the amenities you could want. You register and reserve your bike prior to class online and just check in on iPads when you walk in. The coolest part is you can choose to have your class ranking (based on your power rating) public/private. For competitors like me, seeing where I am among others gives me a little extra motivation. There are plenty of lockers, a water station, towels, and even hairs ties for the sometimes forgetful folks like me. My instructor was great. She was intense yet super motivating. Her song choices were a mix up of today's hits and some early 2000s classics (a little Xtina anyone?). Music videos play while you're riding which is a great distraction when your thighs are on fire! I loved my experience so much my friend and I both bought the 10 classes for $99 (normal drop in rates are $20/class). Can't wait to go back! read more

I'm sorry, I've given cyclebar many tries but it's boring. I love cycling but I just cannot come here anymore. The playlists aren't good and I've never seen any instructor with any energy. I dislike the new bikes and I'm extremely disappointed that the weights were missing for the ride. It's unfortunate because the environment is so welcoming and cute but the class is just not it. Also the ride was supposed to be with 2 instructors and it was just 1. I was kind of hoping that with 2 instructors there would be more energy and choreography. Instead there was 1 instructor, no weights, little to no crunches, no pushups, no tap backs, literally just riding a bike. I can do that on my own with a better playlist.. I'll stick to grooveryde for my classes. read more

Cyclebar is amazing! It's the perfect combination of Soul Cycle and Flywheel but at a fraction of the prices. Similar to Flywheel, your metrics a tracked throughout the ride, and you can see your progress as you peddle. After the class, you can use the website to see your progress over time. Each workout is intense and I've definitely been able to see proof of how much better I've gotten since I first started a year ago! All the instructors are great, but they each have their own unique style so you may have to try a few to find the best fit for you. The other thing I love is that there are so many free amenities: free shoes, towels, hair ties, and water. The best part is the chilled towel at the end of each workout! read more

Great facilities, amazing staff! Went there with my team and they greeted us knowing we were new. They walked us around the facility, decorated lockers for us and made sure we were all set up. They saw that it was my teammates birthday and wished him a happy birthday during the class. They stayed around to chat after the class, everything contributing to why this place is so great! Attended the Holiday ride on December 24th for my first experience at the Beachwood Cyclebar. Loved the class, however hated the rap music with F- Bombs blasting. My daughter went to Jacqueline's class on December 26th, and had the same problem. Lotsa mother-F..ker lyrics with racial slurs included. The profanity really ruins any sense of peacefulness. Beyond impressed with this place. Premium cycling at its finest. You walk in, sign in on an Ipad, and they provide shoes, locker, cold water in a Cyclebar - branded water bottle you can keep, hair ties, bananas, apples, etc. So far so good. Enter the cycling studio to find really nice Schwinn spin bikes that they help you adjust to fit you properly. 2 big screens pump out music videos and the sound system rocks. Our instructor gave really good motivational cues. You see real-time ride stats on a board and competition is encouraged (you can opt in for this). What I loved was the 90-seconds or so of darkness and quiet reflection. It allowed me to plug in during the 50-min class. Our instructor Anglea was fantastic. She is a beast. And she gives cues in RPM, power, etc a d she is a great motivator. After the class they email you how many estimated calories you burned, avg mets, and your overall rank. Yeah, this chick ranked #1 in the class. BOOM. But then again I am hyper competitive...just go. You will love it. I have memberships at CSU and Lifetime and I will gladly pay for classes at Cyclebar any day. The only small ding I give this place is...the seats on the Schwinn bikes. They are narrow and not as comfortable as wider seats on Keiser bikes. read more
