Life Time Fitness is a huge lifestyle gym and health center in Beachwood. It can't even be compared to any local gym, it's far superior. During my initial visit my tour guide referred to it being like a county club. Right on - upscale and relaxing vacay vibes. I have only remained a member for a few months due to life events and health circumstances. I was always very enthusiastic about visiting Life Time! AMENITIES: The club is very clean and every part of the experience is well designed. Everything you need is there. For instance, you'll get all toiletries and towels for your shower or sauna visits. The club well serves a variety of guest groups catering to their unique needs. Parents can use childcare service. Millennials can utilize pickleball courts. Retired folks can partake in a fun Arora aquatic program. There are numerous amenities: full salon, cafe, co-working cafe, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam room, pickleball courts, rock climbing, Pilates studio, personal training, yoga studio, chiropractor, cold plunge, outdoor bar, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, workout area, cryo, and a lot more. You almost need a lifetime to explore them all! It was an immediate "yes" for me in terms of joining. The gym is very spacious, you never feel constrained at any times of the day. My favorite amenities are the outdoor pool and Club Lounge (co-working space). The outdoor pool is Olympic size pool with comfy lounge chairs and lounges. There is zero entry part and swimming lanes. Robust Arora program (open to any ages) offers fun water aerobics activities. The classes are so high energy! The pool was even open into October this year. Loved the pool! Co-working space offered me a lot of flexibility working from the gym and taking a break to enjoy the amenities. The internet speed is excellent! CLASSES: Classes can be conveniently accessed via Life Time mobile application. Sign-up is easy. Timings are suitable for various schedules. EVENTS: Life Time hosts plenty of events for members creating a communal feel - karaoke, swim nights, and even tequila tasting. Some feature a DJ and cool decor. While most events are free, you'll pay for drinks. PRICING: Prices match the amenities. I paid almost $200 per month for a single membership. Not everything is included in your membership (Pilates for instance), but most things are. You get some discounts (such as the salon, the cafe, and personal training) during your first month. It's definitely a pricey investment but also self-investment. CANCELLATIONS: Membership cancellation is very easy. I was able to cancel my membership via the app. I was sad to cancel my membership but life is lifing. You also have an option to pause your membership and partake in online workouts. DOWNSIDES: To be honest in my review, few issues exist at Life Time: - Concierges are not always pleasant. I had this experience, my guest did, and other members mentioned it to me too. The service is very dismissive. You will constantly get referred to the app, attentiveness is rarely a thing. - Cafe prices are outrageous and far higher than at any other health cafes. I recently paid over $40 for a power bowl (Shoyu-Sesame), protein balls, and a smoothie (Açaí Bliss). It's convenient to have a cafe onsite, but prices are wild for the portions and mediocre quality. - Open hours for the amenities are ever changing and unclear. It's hard to figure out when the pools are open or when cafe outdoors is available. Employees I've asked about the open hours were equally puzzled. This doesn't well serve busy individuals with demanding schedules and need to pre-plan. - The parking lot is very dim at night. While the area feels extremely safe, it's still not the best time in the evening. - Onboarding process is rather chaotic. I found myself asking basic questions about creating a pass card, locker use, open hours, and sign-up processes. I was constantly referred to the app which didn't have most of these answers. Overall, I truly enjoyed the amenities at Life Time. I will definitely rejoin when my personal circumstances change. I highly recommend dropping in for a day pass to experience Life Time or formally joining. You won't find a better gym around! read more

A former co-worker who teaches yoga classes there, she may not teach there anymore since the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, invited me to take her yoga class so the class was free for me. I believe the gym offers a free week trial of classes or just one free class for prospective new members. YOGA -- I attended a vinyasa flow yoga class and I can't remember the specific name of the class but it was in-between a beginner's class and an intermediate class. I enjoyed the class because the instructor (Elizabeth) gave good directions/cues between movements. We did the typic upward and downward faving dog poses GYM -- The gym is HUGE and has a lot of weight machines to use plus dumbbells, bikes, and treadmills. You can get all your strength and cardio needs at this gym. I think they have a pool too. CAFE -- The small cafe is a convenient option to grab a quick bite post-workout. They sell smoothies, sandwiches, snacks, etc. After the yoga class, I ordered a small breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon and it tasted good. It wasn't too salty and it was just a typical breakfast sandwich. I also ordered a bottled SUJA green juice which was refreshing. I would easily give this place 5 stars if it weren't for the unprofessional women that work there. First of all, I'm in town for a few weeks seeking a gym away from home. A trainer of mine from another facility invited to me this place as a guest so I could take her class. When I came in I fell in love with the facility. Let me tell you what I loved: 1. The locker rooms are fully equipped with bathrooms, a dry sauna, a steam room (with eucalyptus steam), blow dryers, vanity mirrors, hair spray, deodorant, showers, the lockers have combination locks and there are PLENTY of towels. They have two very large pools, one in which they hold water aerobics and two good sized hot tubs. I love to get in there and do my stretching after an intense workout. They supply shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion -- all quality stuff. 2. They have just about any machine you can think of, including the booty builder and 2 versa climbers, two of my personal favorites. They have ALL SIZES of kettle bells and dumbbells, making it easy to grow in the gym without outgrowing the gym. They have ample cardio machines including some Assault Pro treadmills which I've been doing sprints on. They're very easy to run on, I know this because I hate running but I WILL on those. 3. They offer childcare, have basketball, pickle ball, a cafe AND a salon. I haven't tried the food but have heard and smelled good things. I'm sure you could spend the entire day there. I would if I didn't have anything else to do. 4. The variety offered in group classes is great. I highly suggest any class taught by Elizabeth Newman as she is a professional at what she does and pushes you past your limit. She will not let you give up on yourself and you'll likely leave crawling on your knees. 5. The majority of the staff is extremely friendly! I had no problem signing up for my initial 2 week pass, thanks to Michael, one of the managers, who occasionally works the front desk. He was very courteous and considerate which made the whole process very easy. Let me tell you what I don't like: 1. The rock wall was closed for the majority of my visit. The one time it was open I tried to request equipment at the front desk and everyone looked confused. 2. Some of their staff needs home training and to learn how to interact with customers. In particular, Skylar Jones and a young lady named Hayley, both of whom work at the front desk. Hayley was just useless while Skylar Jones was just plain disrespectful. She should be thanking her lucky stars that my parents raised me right. She should not be interacting with people if she doesn't know how to speak and act respectfully. Initially, she didn't even know the cost of the guest pass and tried to charge me double. It is currently $40 per week if you sign up with a member present, she tried to charge me $80. After correcting her, she handed me a pass with incorrect dates. She told me she couldn't correct it and threw a fit when I asked her to adjust it. She literally threw my pass at me and walked away mumbling under her breath while I remained respectful, addressed her cordially and informed her that she needed to learn how to interact with people or perhaps not work in customer service. I shared this experience with a manager who apologized on her behalf and informed me that this was not the first time he heard something like this about her -- what a shame. Overall if I lived in Cleveland this would be my home gym. They made it very hard for me to return to the dark, dank prison that is planet fitness. On April 30, 2025, at LT Framingham, I opened my locker in the women's bathroom and surprise! Empty! Someone opened it using a key because they didn't change the code. They stole everything, but they didn't change the code, so whoever opened it for us had 1 key. My cream kit, Kérastase and Wella shampoo, Channel perfume, makeup, swimwear, Victoria's Secret Travel Toiletry Bag, Nike Alphafly running shoes and accessories disappeared. I spoke to 2 women who were sitting in their beautiful offices and didn't resolve anything, one of them was eating at the table, they both told me to talk to the front desk and just answer me "I'm sorry!" I said I wanted to make a report, she took my name and wrote on a random piece of paper. The manager "Maria" is never available and doesn't have working hours. My experience at this place was the worst in the world. I am still waiting for a response to the email I printed and left at reception for her about my membership, but I have never received a response. Extremely disappointed. I asked about the insurance and the front desk employee told me that she does not have insurance. They have a key that opens the lockers without using the code because they are not responsible for anything we leave "locked". I HATE this place. read more

I have belonged to lifetime fitness since the club opened. The upstairs gym is really nice and clean and the machines are great and well maintained. I have had an issue with finding feces (poop) in the leisure pool twice in the past month and reported it to them and then the pool has closed. I have also found poop on the floor near the pool and have been told by others that they have had poop in the showers. I don't even know if I can go back there after today it was so disgusting. It is a beautiful gym and this is really a shame. I like the people who work there and there are really nice people who belong there also. read more

Officially cancelled our membership - it is totally insane that when I gave them 2 weeks prior to the next billing cycle they do not cut it off for 30 days from date of cancellation request - in other words I will be billed another just shy of 200 dollars for services I will not be using for 30 days - that is insane and a horrible way to do business especially when they tout the fact that you can cancel membership anytime - we have not been happy with this gym for a very long time and are finally to the point where we are seeking out other options for far less of a fee per month - steer clear of this place - your fee will steadily go up over the years until you realize that they do not care about you as a person and only care about how much they can get out of you in terms of cold hard cash read more

Parking: This location has tons of parking. I do not see parking ever becoming an issue. Front Desk Employees: Every day they were friendly. I was greeted and my pass was scanned. Always smooth process. Cafe: The cafe is not open the full hours as the gym, but it is open most of the day. They had a variety of healthy shakes and warm meals they will prepare for you to buy. I bought a chocolate protein shake and it was delicious. Locker Rooms: This space was clean and similar to all lLife Time gyms, except they hardly had any towels. They definitely need to step it up in the towel department. Gym: They have a large indoor pool and outdoor pool at this location. Cardio area is similar to most other locations with treadmills, stair-masters, bikes, etc.. They have many cable machines (some that don't go heavy enough) and plate loaded machines to choose from, BUT they do not have a Hack Squat, which is essential for legs. Also, the plate loaded chest press squeals really bad and needs greased. Also note that during rush hour this gym gets crowded, so try to come around the rush and not during. (They also had no available towels here one day, definitely need to step it up in the towel department) In conclusion, this gym is nice, but not worth the price if you only come to use the weights. I used this gym for upper body, then had to go to another gym for lower body. Need Two gym memberships just to train One full body. BUT, if you want more of a family club to have fun and are not serious about bodybuilding, then this a great location. read more

So I'm not sure how long it takes to fix a pec deck, but the one I normally use here has been broken since October 16th. It wouldn't bother me but they keep putting up signs saying it will be fixed in two weeks, messed up my work out. Like it was supposed to be fixed by October 31st and it's now December 4th and they have a sign that says will be fixed December 9th. I'm no maintenance guy but I don't think it should take close to two month to fix a pectoral machine. Manager should be doing better, also membership is what close to $100 a month? I was going to file a formal complaint, but I figured this forum would be more beneficial. I don't live in Cleveland, I only lift here when I'm back home visiting my parents. My sales advisor "Paul" told me that the "flex" membership was the best option for me, and to call the club before I come in and they will let me in. A few years go by, I may have used the club a handful of times, but they were still charging my card, so I figured I had the option of calling before I go in and using the club. I come home for a family death, I call the club, and they say "of course you can come in." I asked if I could bring my uncle, who was in from out of town in as a guest, the lady on the phone said "yes, you have 6 guest memberships on your account for a year, just make sure you come in before 8pm." I come in at 7:15pm or so, and the lady at the desk named Claire, was extremely rude, and said that "because the person I talked to didn't notate it on my account, I couldn't come in because my account was 'on hold'." So I'm thinking, they've been charging my card for the last few years, and I said "I was told by my service advisor to just call in before I come in to the club, and if they would honor that." She said, "he actually doesn't work here anymore, but I will talk to a sales rep." I told her, "let them know I'd like to cancel my account if that is the case." She comes back and says, "you can use the club today, but you don't have guest privileges, so you'll have to pay $25 for your guest." So, in a nutshell, the team members apparently don't communicate with each other well, and don't honor past promised by previous employees. They are perfectly fine with taking your money (in my case, hundreds of dollars that have accrued through monthly fees). Her reason for this was, "well management has actually been cracking down on that." Thanks, I'll go ahead and cancel my membership. If Claire had an ounce of training in "customer service," perhaps I'd consider staying on as a member. *Update as of October 2017, several months after I've posted this review, I am still incurring charges from LifeTime Beachwood after numerous attempts to have them cancel my membership. read more

I am not a member so this is not a review for their ongoing processes and experiences, but just for a one time visit: it was great! Felt like a private pool/cabana club. Nice facilities with room for children and adults, cool waterslides, a bar serving hard seltzer's, and even a grassy area. There are also steam rooms and saunas as you expect, and nice steaming Jacuzzi/hot tubs both indoors and out. read more

The customer service towards minority populations is subpar. Most of the time, I observe the front desk selectively deciding who they greet, the cafe barely acknowledging the presence of these individuals, and the swim instructors interacting more aggressively and less patiently with the children. I imagine most people never really review a gym unless it's to complain because you take a lot for granted. OK, so I have been a member of lifetime gym for more than three years or whenever they opened the doors. I think it's a fantastic place it's clean, there's a lot of parking although because this place is so busy there's really never enough parking. The group classes that they offer seem to be plentiful but I don't do group classes. I do free weights and I do cardio. Some of the things I think they need to work on are adding more benches to the free weight area fixing every single one of the drinking fountains so there's actually some pressure that comes out and that the water is cold, making sure there's enough toilet paper and sweat towels, and having someone come in to repair the steam room in the women's locker room (sometimes you have to hit that button 100 times and it doesn't come on but somebody else can walk by and hit it once and it comes on.) The cleaning people in the women's locker room are fabulous friendly and fun. There's one lady in particular she's older her name begins with an L, she is always smiling and is very helpful. I love Life Time but I hate this location. Used to be a member at another club in Michigan before relocating here. It was the same price as this club but had so much more. Bathrooms here don't even have conditioner for your hair and are missing many of the other hygiene items that are available for guest that are available at other locations. You wouldn't want to shower here anyways because the water or the pipes makes the showers and the toilets smell terrible. I really hate to have to write a negative review however after multiple complaints to staff, nothing has changed. The free weight area is always a mess, there are towels and paper just piling up, nothing is in order, and there is always at least one piece of equipment that isn't working. Dust bunnies are everywhere, the mats are all torn and it's just dingy in general. Additionally, people always have their gym bags with them lying on the floor when there are multiple signs requesting for members to keep their bags in the locker rooms. I've tripped over them a couple times and I've addressed it with the staff but of course, no one ever does anything about it. Some members dress absolutely inappropriately, the other day I saw someone working out in swim trunks and flip flops. People wear denim and boots or other items that are not appropriate for a gym. I know it's 2018 and everyone who reads this part of the review will probably be offended, but I stand by the fact that when an establishment depicts itself as a high end workout facility it should expect the members to be of the same caliber as well, especially when they pay so much money to belong there. The "trainers", and I use that term loosely, are absolutely terrible. They stand around and watch their client do whatever feels right, they don't motivate, they don't correct their form, they just chat with their client like they are having a casual cup of coffee. I have literarily never seen anyone get a good workout out yet they have the nerve to come interrupt every single one of my workouts to ask me if I want to train with them. Not in a million years. Save your coin and go to a smaller gym, it's so sad to know that lifetime is amazing everywhere except in Beachwood Ohio. Get your stuff together. read more

Although we paused our membership, I wanted to write this review. This location is almost always spotless, the front desk employees are professional and consistently in great moods, and the yoga classes are excellent. I'll admit I delayed joining for the monthly fee so when my favorite instructors all left ballys and came here I made myself workout at least three times a week to feel like I got my money's worth and oh baby mama will be proud. I have 3 staple classes I take here: Zumba with Angie smith, strike with Laura and Leigh's kickboxing. The music is like you're jamming at a club and the workout makes you nauseous. The food at the cafe ain't too shabby. Locker rooms make you feel you're at a country club (towels, shampoo, hair dryers, dry and wet sauna. Water slides outside look sweet. Haven't tried their spa services but its available. Rock climbing wall made me realize I'm pretty puny in the arms (will not name my biceps Zeus and Apollo just yet). I love this gym. The hours are pretty accommodating and they have a ridiculously big weight room. They just got a ton of new equipment including some Jacob's Ladders. These extra cardio options let you mix it up without getting bored. I worked with their nutrition team and their personal training staff and was impressed with both. The personal trainer made a complete routine available for me that I just put on my phone. The nutritionists probably had the biggest impact on my weight loss though. They give you meal plans and tools to get measurable results. I don't know anything about the child care center but the kids always look like they are having fun. This place has good instructors. We've had an okay experience with trainers. My husband's first trainer had him only do 1 exercise for an entire hour. The same trainer only gave him a half hour work out for his complimentary birthday training session. 2 staff members and 2 other members told me the birthday training session is usually an hour. My husband switched trainers. The employees in childcare are pretty nice. The kids instructor for Kung fu is great! The family restrooms are gross and always busy. Members without kids and employees use the bathrooms in the family locker room. So, there is usually a wait to change clothes. The 2 bathrooms are changing areas with showers. Also, the doors are frequently broken. I think because of the front location of the family locker room, everyone uses it even though it's a family locker room. read more

I am very disappointed of the cleanliness of the place and how the pool floor is always flood wet creating a hazard for all users. I have addressed my complains but I have been told "we are working on it" however employees are just standing around talking to the guests. I am not asking for much!! My husband and I joined Lifetime to get back into a fitness routine. We were helped by the manager through the whole process who was absolutely awesome to work with. This was my first time at a facility like this and it was mind blowing how much you get for your buck. I take advantage of the pools (which include one specifically for laps) and the classes that are all included in the monthly price. I love the spinning classes but make sure to book ahead. Met with personal trainer Mario and was surprised at how helpful and knowledgeable as well as professional he was. I learned a lot in 30 minutes and he ran me through a sample workout that was really tough. I thought I was working out hard enough but he opened my eyes. I liked that he didn't try to force me into a training plan or expensive deal. I was impressed enough to WANT to purchase the AMA testing and then move on from there. I believe that their program will get me out of this plateau I hit. I am definitely going to purchase the My Training coach program after I get my other testing done.
