Bob W. - Plano, Texas The doctors (Cardiologists) here at…read moreBaylor in Plano, Texas are excellent....all 5 Star in my book. I do have a problem with the 7 story Parking Garage. The lighting in this 7 Story Parking Garage is very poor...so I reported it to the Baylor Police Force as well as to The City of Plano's Inspection Department. The City of Plano told me that the Hospital Garage Lighting is in violation of the City's "Lighting Codes"...and they have 30 days to ensure ALL lights are functioning. It's dangerous to walk through that garage & even drive through it. 4 months ago, I tripped over a concrete curb stop that IMO shouldn't have been there...luckily caught myself with both hands (as I have a Pacemaker & an Aortic Aneurysm I need to protect). Now, 4 months later both of my hands and my arms are still a bit sore. At age 76, falls can be very life threatening. I also informed OSHA that IMO, this 7 Story Parking Garage is not safe.... due to the poor lighting situation and the inappropriate placed "curb stops" in this garage. There must be thousands of patients who use this 7 Story Parking Garage every week....it MUST be safe for ALL patients an visitors! Also, IMO, both ER's are very understaffed and overwhelmed...3 to 5 hours to get in and out. Otherwise, I feel this Baylor Scott & White Hospital really is a 5 Star Hospital....I do highly recommend it to everyone! NOTE: I am in Plano, Texas...NOT San Francisco, California.

About four months ago, we went through the most challenging period of our lives. Two months…read moreearlier, we discovered that our 14-year-old son had developed an eating disorder, and we felt completely lost, unsure of where to turn for help. Despite seeking support from a reputable local therapist specializing in eating disorders, his condition quickly deteriorated. None of the local treatment options we explored gave us confidence. We were strongly advised to consider ERC in Dallas (Plano), but after reading every available review, we were terrified. We feared that a residential program might traumatize him rather than help, or that he might pick up new, harmful behaviors. Some reviews even made us worry about an unnecessarily prolonged stay, raising concerns that financial motives might outweigh patient well-being. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The doctors and staff at ERC are genuinely dedicated to helping these kids heal and ensuring they have the tools to maintain recovery. I have rarely, if ever, witnessed such dedication, expertise, and professionalism in the healthcare system in this country (and we've lived in Florida, New York, and California). The educational program at ERC, under the leadership of Dr. Wooten, is exceptional. With over 30 years of experience in treating eating disorders, he is truly a leader in his field. He deeply understands the critical role parents play in recovery and equipped us with the knowledge and resources we needed. Our son spent five weeks in residential treatment and four weeks in PHP. By the end of his stay, he had restored his weight and developed the right recovery mindset. While we couldn't find a suitable IOP program back home, we felt confident and empowered to continue his recovery journey on our own, transitioning directly to an outpatient team. Lukas deeply misses his team at ERC--his therapist, Kayann Richards, and his dietitian, Summer Spaide, were phenomenal. Their warmth, professionalism, and deep expertise helped redirect him onto a healthy path while also helping us reconnect as a family. They taught us how to communicate with him effectively, how to support him nutritionally, and how to keep him motivated to continue eating. This experience has made us stronger and better prepared to navigate not only the long path out of an eating disorder, but the more general challenges of adolescence. Looking back, it's hard to believe that just three months ago, we were lost and desperate for answers. Today, we are filled with gratitude and hope. If you're struggling with the same fears and uncertainties we faced, please know that you are not alone. If you'd like to talk to a parent who has been in your shoes, feel free to email me--I'd be happy to connect. You can also visit the ERC resources webpage to sign up for free classes and support groups. I strongly encourage you to join a session led by Beth Ayn Stransfield, the National Family Advocate at ERC. As a parent of a fully recovered daughter, she offers invaluable insights and guidance. Additionally, Dr. Sally Fleck, the Clinical Director at ERC Plano, was instrumental in answering our questions and easing our fears--we are so grateful for her support. If you need help or just someone to talk to, don't hesitate to reach out. My email is monika.w@mac.com--I'd love to support you in any way I can.

She ultimately required a nasogastric tube (NG tube) to help her reach her meal plan and reaching her weight goal. She actually decided to get the NG tube on her own. The experience, while not initially pleasant, helped her get her digestion system rehabilitated. Her Team was amazing, especially the Family Therapist Kristen. I was nervous when she went in, and believe it was a good decision.

Anna my father's second nurse was also wonderful. The doctors, nurses, therapists and everyone I spoke to were super friendly and helpful. When I had to leave my dad I felt that he was in safe hands and would be well taken care of. My problem didn't arise until I tried to get my dad's caseworker Natali to help me send my dad to another facility because I was worried about my father's safety at the facility he came from. She absolutely would NOT help me get my father to a facility that I felt he was going to be safer at. She informed me it did not matter that I was his POA and his only point of contact. I had transportation lined up and the facility was waiting to take my father but Natali thought she knew better than I did what my father needed. I even sent her the Texas law number stating a concerned family member can remove a loved one from an usafe facility but she refused to acknowledge anything I was saying. So, while I say if your loved one ends up in ICU know they'll be in safe hands. But if you end up with Natali as a caseworker and you're tyring to protect a loved one, I would suggest having an attorney on hand and every legal document you can find because she simply will NOT help you protect your loved ones.

On both visits I have been in the er unit over 12 hours without getting a room. This time it has been multiple hours since anyone has even come in to talk to me or update me on anything. It is now well past breakfast time and no offer of anything to eat has even been offered. I am shaking and diabetic but apparently they could care less. I had some crackers in my bag but they haven't helped much at all. I have a huge headache and nobody is telling others to at least keep the music on their phones down. This is just ridiculous. They are just shuffling us some chair to chair. Want to feel like no staff member or Doctor gives a crap then go ahead and go to Medical City Plano. I will go out of my way to tell others to Never go to Medical City Plano if they are looking for even half decent care. 13 Hrs in here, Super shaky and need food.

You can walk in, but I always prefer to book when I can. The staff was welcoming. The NP, Rebecca Kirkley, was awesome. If I could see her all the time, I would. I received a confirmation and then 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment I got a text reminding me to "Be On Time". After checking in and sitting in the lobby at my appointed time I waited 30 minutes without seeing a doctor but they wanted my money. I then found out they were running an hour and a half behind. The poor lady with a 2:40pm appointment was still in the lobby at 3:50. It's time that medical offices respect people's time. I'm okay if you're running late just tell me. Don't send me a text saying "hustle up" and then leave me to languish in the waiting room. It's just poor business practice.
