My family LOVES this place!! There were a lot of wine choices and each one we tried (6 per tasting!) was delicious wine. We spoke with a handful of staff and they were all very friendly and knowledgeable - the place seemed rather busy and we got there shortly before they closed, yet they took the time to talk with us, provide history on the wines, and answer all of our questions without any rush. 3rd visit to Harmony Cellers. You'd be surprised at the quality wines that come from a place with a population of 18. We walked out with a bottle of their "port" and, uncharacteristic for us, a red named after the grandfather of the winery's family. This was our first time being charged upfront (as mentioned by another reviewer), perhaps they have had some problems with people walking out. Not something we took personally, it's a business. Our tasting guide also poured, gave us some targeted tasting info, and left us to ourselves. We personally like this approach. We want to be able to speak frankly to each other about our likes and dislikes. They have a great assortment of merchandise as well. Our favorite is a line of candles called "rescuedwine" which contribute a portion of their proceeds to animal rescues. Bravo! read more

The grounds are gorgeous and the service was great - they brought our flights in mini disposable cups that we poured in to glasses ourselves - which was fine. We enjoyed our visit and liked the wine. The Moonstone Bar and Grill had served the 2015 Cab and they did not have it at the winery (sold out) so we bought a 2014. We also purchased the Aria which is freaking AMAZING! Stopped for a tasting on a Friday, without a reservation, and were able to be seated right away. The outside area is nice and relaxing. The tasting flights come out all at once with a paper to tell you what you are drinking. Some tasters might not like this, but I enjoyed tasting completely at my own pace and not worrying about finishing before the server arrived. Wonderful little winery. I came here recently on a girls trip to celebrate my friends 40th Birthday, and this was the perfect winery to start off the celebration! Quaint, country style winery, nestled upon the hillside providing some great views. We pre ordered their cheese charcuterie prior to arriving. Wine tastings are $10 with your choice of 7 different wines. Most of the wines are fairly good and I especially loved their rose and ended up getting a bottle to go. We enjoyed our cheese plate and wine outside at one of the benches. All of the staff here were extremely personable, inviting and accommodating. We really enjoyed our visit here. We've been members here for several years, and visited prior to that for several years. This winemaker is very consistent, and in our opinion, makes very good wines! We look forward to our shipments and visits. The wines are reasonably priced (especially if you're a member) from around $20-45, which for quality wine is right where I want to be. I've been a wine club member at Harmony Cellars for many years because I love their wines. One of my current favorites is the 2015 Chardonnay ($22), nice and buttery; none of that sterile steel aged Chard that is in vogue now. The Repertoire ($23) is a nice table red, ripe berries with a spicy vanilla note. Each of their wines is delicious; we never leave their tasting room with less than a case. Reasonably priced at between $15-50 per bottle, with many wines at the less than $30 price. The tasting room has a great gift shop and a beautiful picnic area, and is Dog Friendly! The tasting fee for non-club members is $10 per person for 7 tastes of your choosing. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a stop! read more

We were coming back to Solvang and stopped at Harmony Cellars on the way. I really enjoyed the service for our wine tasting experience. Bruce introduced himself and showed us to our table. There were 29 of us and Bruce was very patient as he told us in detail about the six different wines that we were tasting. Bruce is a great ambassador for this company. Aside from the great service the ambiance was very nice being on a hill overlooking the ocean. The gift shop was nice and I will more than likely revisit this establishment whenever I'm up the coast again. I could probably review the wines individually but I would suggest that you try it and judge it yourself, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

My husband and I just left Cambria and stumbled upon this winery which doesn't require a reservation for tasting. After visiting a few high-end wineries in Paso Robles, it was so refreshing to visit this small family-owned winery off the beaten path. They had such a quaint large patio with grass with many types of tables. The tasting was only $15 and they will give you a small complimentary bottle of water and small bag of oyster crackers. The servers are very attentive to come around when you're ready for your next pour and I never had to hunt them down. We were very impressed with the wines, prices and good service of this unpretentious winery. read more

This review is for July 21, 2017. This is for the Friday night music event. They were supposed to have the Grill Cheese truck again n it was a no show again. They went n got pizza from somewhere which was not to good. They charged $4 a slice which was not worth it. The music n people r great along with their wine. Hopefully they will get this good truck situation straightened out. This is review is for an earlier event. Stopped by to check out The Grilled Cheese truck. Soon arriving could not see or locate this food truck. In place of advertised truck HarmonyCellars brought in Boni's Tacos. I had the quesadilla with pork. It was very flavorful. My wife had a beef burrito. She said it was good and flavorful. After a little while she made the comment that the beef was quit salty. There was some good music for a Sunday picnic atmosphere. Beautiful views and friendly staff. The wine is very good and the atmosphere is relaxing. There was no rush when doing a tasting and our entire group enjoyed it. There was no push to purchase anything and they let us enjoy our drinks. We went home with a few bottles and a membership because our experience was so nice. The flights give 5 wines and you can choose from red, white, or mixed. There's not a heavy pour on the tastings but it's really a good amount in the end. The gift shop is very cute and there's som unique items to check out. Again, go for the views and just to relax and wind down. Would love to return next time I'm around!!! read more

This was a real surprise for us. This seemed like it might be a gimmicky place with bad sweet wine or flavored stuff. I say that just based on first impressions and location. Turns out that they had a solid line of wines. They told us the whites came out of Monterey and the reds from Paso. So no estate Harmony wine. The whites were fine with a pretty classic California style Chard and a surprisingly German style Riesling. The reds were the real stars for us. Lots of big styles with the Rhône styles standing out. It was also great that they had a real rarity in Tannat. Well worth a visit. read more

On our way down the 1 we found this gem. Harmony is a "town" with a population of 18. It's a nicely put together wedding venue. Above the town is a winery which I suspect you could also have a wedding at. I remember enjoying their tannat and Zinfandel. Would recommend trying them all. They were sport nice and the Whole place was set up to look like a photo shoot. They also had many branded items for souvenirs. You may already know this, but the town of Harmony is a one horse, 18 people, 6 building town. Well, that may or may not be true, but close. That they have a winery in Harmony is the real kicker. And actually a nice one with a great view, overlooking rolling hills. The wine tasting room has a classy yet rustic atmosphere. After an hour of leisurely wine tasting, Mr. B put his stamp of approval on this place by purchasing one of their reds. Unfortunately, he could not remember which one by the time I got around to writing this. This tells me he still doesn't fully embrace Yelpism even now. What can I say? Oh, NOW he remembers....a 2007 Diamond Reserve Aria. So, our pourer also introduced us to their gourmet salts, smoked and spicy. Sprinkle some of that on a chunk of good chocolate, which they coincidentally give you free, and then slosh it around with a sip of their port, and my oh my, that's good. This was a good stop, worth the trek out there. read more

This is such a quaint cute winery right by Cambria! Located in the tiny historic town of Harmony (population: 18) , one would never have though of finding a winery here. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their wine. The sitting areas outside have wonderful views of the rolling hills surrounding the winery and views of Morrow Bay in the distance. It was very relaxing to be able to enjoy our wine flights with the breeze and views while basking in the warm sun. The person that brought us our wine flight gave us permission to fly our drone on the property, as long as we didn't go near the cows grazing in the adjacent hills, and we caught so many awesome footages of the beautiful landscape surrounding Harmony. He was even helping guide our drone to where we can see the Morrow Bay Rock in the distance. Such wonderful service at this winery that we ended up staying longer and buying a bottle to enjoy there. There were a few other wines that we wanted to try or even buy a glass of, however they had just the ones on the flight available. This surprised me as I'm used to wineries having a larger selection of 'by the glass' wines than just what is on the flight. How's their wine you might ask? They were okay, quite enjoyable but we didn't LOVE with any of them, but well worth your time to enjoy a glass or flight taking in the beauty that surrounds the winery. read more

What a cute name for a town and a winery! The atmosphere was totally peaceful, tranquil and harmonious (well at least until we got near the end of our tasting, and then we were a little toasted and loud). But seven tastings! Yes, seven! Seven is the number of completeness and perfection, so of course, we went along with the program and were not going to reject anything! I went through all of the whites except the Riesling and then a couple of reds. Ended up really liking the red Zinfandel called Grandpa, and so I took him home! Staff here is very attentive and made sure our glasses were never empty. The grounds are beautiful. You are surrounded by rolling hills. Lots of outdoor seating to sit back and enjoy. Extremely dog friendly. Almost everyone seated outside had a doggy companion, and we met a sweet rescue named Hannah from Orange County and her humans. I would have enjoyed hanging out here longer, but so many wineries to visit, so little time! read more

2nd times a charm. The first time we went here was with my daughter and some friends of hers. Birthday. With a few exceptions the staff was rude and it left a very bad taste. Yesterday I was part of a band hired to play for a wedding party. My wife and another couple, friends, decided to attend. Upon arrival we were told 3 chairs, set to one side, were for band guests. cheap folding chairs. There were roughly 100 plush chairs arrayed auditorium style on the patio. But only a fraction being used. The wedding guests standing mostly and in the bar area. During our show the owner Chuck Mulligan, came over to my wife and told her she couldnt sit there. When she told him thats where we were told to sit, he got adamant and RUDE and told her No! With roughly 80 plush seats not even being used??? Who acts like this? After, I got went over and told him he was a bully and RUDE. He told us to leave. We did happily and will not be back. I had ordered a glass of their Zin earlier but couldnt drink it. It was flat and dull tasting. We will NOT be back. On top of that theres very little parking area. You have to park on the dirt road below the Barn and walk quite a ways UPHILL to get to it. All in all a very bad experience. read more

Having missed the Yelp Harmony Cellar event because we had just returned from overseas, I decided to stop here on our way to Paso with a wine club pick up in Cambria. We were greeted by a pleasant elderly woman asking if it was our first visit. I told her yes, we missed the Yelp event so we wanted to stop by. After a blank stare she told us that it cost $10 to try 7 wines per person. Jack said he was driving, so he would not want a separate tasting. If I really liked something he could try from me. She went back to taking care of other customers. Jack wandered off perusing the store. I looked over the choices and decided to start with the Riesling. When I asked for it she asked me if I wanted to try 7 wines for $10. A little puzzled, I responded that I understood that was the only way to taste there unless I join the club. ( In fact I was planning to join their high tier Symphony Club.) She acknowledged. I was waiting for her to pour my wine. So you want to taste the wines? Yes! Do you want to pay now?!? Trigger! Pet peeve. Do I look like I'll skip out after getting drunk? How do you know I won't buy the required amount of bottles for free tasting? How do you know I won't join the club? I politely declined. The woman then asked a colleague if I could pay after tasting. She told her that was possible. Really. Sorry, not my way of doing business. I'm a wine snob and we have been members of multiple wine clubs in Sonoma and elsewhere in the past and now mainly on the Central Coast. I remember only once probable 20+ years ago where I was asked to prepay for trying wines. After all you try the wines to see which ones you want to buy. I get the commercialization of the industry and why a charge is necessary if you buy nothing. But this was over the top. Sorry, my peeve. read more

I have mixed reviews on this ranking. My wife and I have visited here before and we always make this a primary stop when we drive up from LA. Maybe it was visiting during these strange times that made our visit not so perfect. Few things: We were told that we had to buy a cheese pairing in order to sit down and have a drink. Sorta odd if you ask me. We ended up buying a bottle of cab that we unfortunately forgot about and left in the car later that trip that lost its life from the heat. So we ended up not getting the full harmony from our trip. The vineyard grounds are though quite beautiful and its a really great place to stop by for a wine tasting. read more

For all of those who are traveling from LA to San Simeon this winery should be on your list. Harmony is a small town before you get to Cambria, where you can find a glasswork shop a pottery shop and of course this winery. Their wine tasting consists on 7 different wines all for the price of $10 which I think is great deal. Out of the 7 wines we enjoyed the white resiling the most and we end up buying two bottles. After all the wine tasting you must buy a glass of your favorite wine and enjoy it outdoors where they have sitting and you can enjoy the mountain views read more
