As for the wines themselves, they just weren't a fit for my palate, particularly at the price point. I recognize that wine preferences are highly personal, and there were others around the tasting room who seemed to enjoy them much more than I did. I also felt that the tasting experience could have been more engaging. Our server was pleasant not the most engaging, we felt like we were bothering her. Overall, I appreciated the creativity, mission, and atmosphere, even though the wines and tasting experience didn't quite resonate with me.

We visited this time as part of the "Wine for Wildlife" fundraiser, which was a $40 weekend passport to visit 9 wineries (3 tastes/winery). Cayucos Cellars tasting room is lovely. There is also an outdoor patio. We were welcomed by Paige, who is friendly and personable. Our 3-pour "Wine for Wildlife" tasting flight included a Rose' of Grenache, a 2017 Pinot Noir, and the "Rustic One", which was a blend of petit Sirah, Syrah, and Grenache. All were delicious. The way she spoke about Marin and everything that goes into the wines was so genuine and enthusiastic--it really elevated the whole experience. The bottles labels are so pretty with so much color. The tasting room itself is small, but in the best way possible--super cozy, intimate, and welcoming.
