Wow! What a great place! We had an amazing wine tasting for $20. Manny the owner is a wealth of wine knowledge and share so much information with us regarding the wines we were tasting. There was no pressure to join the wine club however we did because the selection of wines available was unreal. OMG! what a hidden gem! Wines of great quality from "weekday dinner" (starting $15!) to "special occasion only". Wines rated out of the chart and lables that we heard of, but never had chance to try. Here is the deal - he sells "by the glass" the labels that make any wine connoisseur dream. I had a glass of 2021 Puett syrah/cab blend (production 80 cases). Savoured every sip. We arrived here around 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. My fiance and I were the only ones there besides the owner. He was super nice and gave us so much information and background on our drinks! I did the 5 tastings of wine, and my finance got a beer. We just sat inside chatting with the owner. It was super chill, and the tastings were so delicious. The selection is unique and personalized. We walked out with a big box of beer and wine for friends and family (and obviously ourselves), but we very much enjoyed the owner's company and the laid-back vibe of the location. The location is quite small, but lots of great wines to choose from. After an awful experience across the street at Locals taproom, we walked over to Avila Wine and Roasting where Manny saved the day and brought up our spirits. He was very kind and welcoming. He had a variety of wines and beer to offer. We had good conversation with him and will definitely be back. I highly recommend that you check out his spot. Manny is one of the most knowledgeable people in the wine business. He knows the back story of every wine he sells and has a great palette and memory for tastes. Once he knows what wines you like, he will be able to suggest others you will enjoy from his extensive inventory from boutique wineries and limited special offerings from more well known producers too. The only negative is that he is often working alone and that slows everything down. If you just want to run in for a quick tasting or one bottle of wine, you may leave frustrated, but if you have the time to relax, taste, and listen to Manny's stories, you are likely to leave very happy and with a case of interesting new wines to take home. read more

There are several wine tastings you can do in this area but this one I really enjoyed. We told him what types of wines we normally drink, so he provided wines he thought we might enjoy, it wasn't a set tasting which is awesome. I really enjoyed all that I tasted but I fell in love with "Slacker"by Paseo Robles Vineyard- but of coarse....lol It was an excellent bottle of wine for $45. I had to get it. It had a nice blend it also had a nice Port wine smell from the blends. The guy working here is very knowledgeable about the vineyards he does the pours on. My 2nd favorite was Belle Glos Pinot Noir Las Alturas. Another great wine is Ferguson Crest with 13 % Grenache and 6% Cab blend. I recommend trying these out if you love your reds. I"m a huge Malbec fan and not much of a fan of syrah wines- so the guy working here knew what to pull out to my liking. Also- major plus- they also have beer here. :)) read more

What a find this place is! I was searching for a specific bottle from a small local vineyard, Alban Syrah, and was able to find it at a great price. Not only did we get the wine we came for but we asked for a recommendation and walked out with an outstanding bottle of Pruitt Syrah that was delicious! We often stop in to purchase our wine here when we are in the area. The prices are better than other wine shops and sometimes even lower than what you would pay at the winery. Manny has a large selection to choose from and once he knows what you like he will help you find other similar wines to taste!
