Slipstream Albariño

Tucked away off the Avila Beach Boardwalk you'll find the cutest tasting room. Inspired by biking (and no relation to the peloton people now have in their homes), it's a very relaxing atmosphere and everyone I have met there before is super friendly (staff and guests alike). A tasting flight is $20 for 5 wines - they have three options: white, red or mix. If you buy 2 bottles, you're tasting is included with your purchase. I loved the rosé and the Boneshaker Albariño - both were very refreshing and crisp. The Pinot was also delicious! I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. They also have a ton of little gift type items for purchase.

We had a wonderful wine tasting experience at Peloton Cellars. The wine was excellent, service exceptional, and the views were beautiful. My husband and I sat on the patio. There is a restaurant next door that delivered a beautiful baked Brie directly to our table. What a wonderful experience in Avila Beach!

Set amongst a lovely countryside, inside a beautiful rustic barn set-up for the lavish event, was Peloton Cellars 10th Winemaker's Dinner, hosted by SummerSky Vineyards. A delectable 5 course meal was made with love by Phresh Foods Company. Table, wine, food service was impeccable. Do you want to enjoy an elegant evening filled with good food, nice music, wonderful conversations and shared love of wines? Then a winemaker's dinner with Peloton Cellars is the way to go. If, and when, you find yourself in Avila Beach pay Peloton Cellars a visit. A Lovely tasting room serving you delicious wines that have perfect notes and body. As some wine lovers state "Great Legs"

Great location with excellent wines! We can in for a tasting because we enjoy looking at the bike sitting out front. The gentleman doing the tastings was so enjoyable to speak with and very knowledgable on the wines. We ended up with full glasses of albarino (sp?). This was was so tasty, refreshing and with a beautiful finish. We enjoyed chatting and made our way outside to enjoy the view of the ocean. Cute little gift shop inside as well to check out. If walking down Front street cut through the shops to find this tasting. You will not be disappointed. Cheers!

This place absolutely blew me away. Normally, when I stop into a tasting room, I like maybe one or two wines. Here I loved every one of them. The Chardonnay and the Petite Syrah at the top of my list. The setting is charming, the woman who works there is lovely, and we left with a case of wine post-tasting. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Great little hidden gem in the middle of downtown avila beach. They have amazing smelling candles inside, we tried the rose and it was delightful. Great place outside to sit with friends available.

He explained the vineyards/wine-making processes connected to each of the 6 wines we tasted, which were a couple of Rieslings (Mike's specialty) and a Pinot Noir at the end. The tasting was accompanied by a small charcuterie spread, which was an appreciated gesture. The wines featured diverse palates and mouthfeels, and we bought bottles of our two favorite wines (both Rieslings, one from Wirz Vineyard and one called La Estancia) at the end of the experience. Mike really was a gracious and knowledgeable host, we appreciated his passion for his craft that he spearheaded in 2002. Overall, this was a really unique and insightful experience that elevated our Christmas season getaway!

My husband and I never plan ahead when it comes to visiting tasting rooms. We called on the day-of to check their availability, and the owner Mike was more than accommodating. The setting was tucked away and lovely, and the wine was phenomenal. They specialize in riesling but their pinot was also so delicious that we had to buy several bottles. The tasting itself was very relaxed and came with yummy treats including his wife's homemade tumeric bread. We had a great time and left feeling like we'd just hit the jackpot on unique experiences. Will definitely visit again! *Bonus- there were cats to pet. :)

We came for a ReSiprocal tasting for February and loved the wines so much, we bought a bottle to save for the home. Service was great and personable! However, you will be missing out if you don't veer of the beaten path and head out for an adventure (you will not be sorry). Tucked inside the south end of San Luis Obispo the winery is located in a nice quiet area just a little off South Higuera. I have been here many times before, and usually the tastings were held inside their comfy tasting room. If a special event or just lucky you can get the treat get to taste in their production/barrel room (is this where the term barrel-o-fun comes from?).  The latest trip, due to the current safety requirements, the tasting were held just outside the tasting room on a nice set of tables with a new sun screen. Reservations were a snap (or call) and easy to work with their system and the staff were super helpful. Here is the most important part! The wines here are extraordinary, and would have to say some of the best Pinot Noir here in California. With the amazing soils (like Stone Corral and Bien Nacido) and the magic touch from winemaker Stephen Dooleys, these wines and especially the Pinot are not to be missed. The price considering the quality is reasonable and easy to pick up a few bottles to enjoy later. Now I need to figure out a pairing to pull together for dinner (hmm?). One of the things I appreciate about this winery and tasting room is their continued focus on the small touches they put on the experience and their special events. Previously I had attended a special tasting tour and this winery was one of the stops. The team put together and tasting menu with a smelling chart to compare smells and the different wines.  It was well done and loved how they really focused on providing value and a great experience for their guests.  If you're planning on some wine tasting or just being adventurous make a slight jaunt off the path and head to Stephen Ross Wine Cellars for a pinot and get to meet their team and wine family.  Be sure to put in your review what your favorite pinot was!? Cheers.

My favorite will probably Always be their sparkling brut rosé , a delightful methode champenoise and featuring their passion for Pinot Noir with subtle floral, aromas and hints of berries, with tiny effervescent bubbles. It pairs with just about anything that's got a little creamy fattiness to it . It is just so elegant and beautiful to drink & makes me happy! I also still enjoy their traditional sparkling brut , to me it's one of their flagship wines and still affordable for this quality of champagne. Cheers !!
