The address is a bit misleading, because you enter the coffee shop from 19th St, but it's accessible from 18th, just not as easily. I almost didn't even go in because the building is so nondescript, it didn't seem like there'd be a beautiful coffee shop inside. The beverage menu was extensive, and the coffee/food we got were absolutely delicious. Everyone on the staff there was super helpful and so nice. They were so accommodating to me and my family. The lobby area was beautiful and comfortable. They had comfy leather chairs, plenty of table space, and even a couple of long high top tables with wireless chargers and charging cables available for almost any device you need. I also really enjoyed the tree inside. We will be stopping by here again, for sure, it was worth every minute off track.

They did an okay job on the London Fog Latte. The main limitations were the space and setup. There were only a few small tables available, and they did not have ceramic mugs for serving. Awakening has an array of espresso beverages and coffee as well as smoothies and a few baked items. My dining companion and I both opted for one of their seasonal specialty lattes. They have milk alternatives, so we were both able to get our desired almond milk for our lattes. Their espresso is pitch perfect. I can not overstate this. Seriously, one of the best lattes I have had the pleasure of consuming in the entire state of Wisconsin right here in little ol' Kohler. That alone made the drive from Milwaukee worth it. Their bites are limited to bakery sweet treats. I'm not much for sweet in the morning but was pleased to find that the grocery store where Awakening is situated has lovely savory breakfast options. As I mentioned, they are situated inside a grocery store but don't let that deter you. The grocery store itself is charming and they have a lovely dining area in the middle of the store where you can enjoy your coffee and bites. Our barista was absolutely lovely. They were the one who clued us in on the delicious breakfast bites that we could get at the adjacent deli in addition to serving up such a delicious latte. Get to it!

The instructor noted that I was new to their space and went out of her way to welcome me, ask if I had ever practiced yoga before, give me a consent card for yes/no regarding hands-on assists during class, explain that the oils are self applied beforehand. The class itself was a pleasant way to spend a rainy Sunday morning. Big windows let a lot of light into the space even on gray days. This class in particular to me felt both a) more like just a normal vinyasa class with some cool down poses, and b) also like a mini workshop what with the oracle cards and assists and perfectly paced music. For just $18! Don't miss out local, friends. The instructor was okay; admittedly she missed a few poses in her sequences from side to side and she seemed to linger around me specifically when emphasizing particular cues (maybe she didn't trust that this wasn't my first class?). Her assists were lovely reiki like touches, but also maybe a little too overcorrective in spots. Bummer that their cafe wasn't open when I visited. It seems like one of the few options in Muskegon for vegan eats. I was hoping to load up on immunity shots, smoothies, avocado toast, and tempeh/chickpea wraps for my hotel room. Maybe next time.

It's located in a rehab/workout business, so you may easily overlook...but do yourself a favor and give it a try. We have added this to our list of local favorites. I grabbed the menus thinking we'll call ahead next time, then realized they don't have a Yelp listing yet. It was so good, I took the time to add the menus and set it up for others to enjoy. There are a few tables for 4 outside. The service was a little slow, but we then realized the bagels were cooked fresh for our order and the smoothies helped bridge the time.
