He SUPER down to earth and does a thorough physical exam. I have been suffering from thyroid symptoms for about 4 years. Been to several doctors and none of them could help me. My symptoms got to a point where I thought I was dying. Was having heart palpitations, EXTREME hair loss, excessive fatigue, random sore spots and bruises on my body, vision issues, rapid weight gain, anxiety off the charts (couldn't get more than 4 hours of sleep to save my life)- you name it. None of the prior doctors could tell me what was happening. And after a while, I believe that they started to disregard my complaints- EVEN after I did my research and TOLD them what I thought was going on. Dr. Launius LISTENED to me- and for the first time in years I didn't feel like the doctor thought I was crazy. After he completed the physical exam- he pretty much assured me the help that I needed. He also said that he would get my hair to stop falling out (as it was falling out by the handfuls- and was so bad, that for a moment, I actually thought that I might have had cancer). I know- an ignorant thought, but paired with the way that I was feeling in addition to the hair loss- that is the mindset that I was in. THE NEXT DAY... his team called me with the results. Sure enough, my levels were low. I got the prescription and was felling better by the end of the first month. Dropped 10 pounds almost immediately. I'm currently in month two- and guess what? For the first time in 4 years, I was able to comb out and wash my hair without any of it coming out. I'm ecstatic! I know hair seems like a small vain thing to most people, but when you start to lose it, it really messes with your confidence. My hair is pretty thin now, and is way shorter than it was 4 years ago- but at least I can now see light at the end of the tunnel. I'm excited for progress and my new hair journey. To top it all off, I feel great. I've never appreciated my health more than I do now. I'm so thankful to have run across Dr. Lanius- a REAL health professional. As he told me, he gets a lot of beefy guys coming through his door looking for drugs, and as I'm a beefy guy (which is funny because I don't think of myself as big at all) he is going to be super wary. So there was never a lot of trust in this relationship. I understand where he's coming from, but still, it was very frustrating for him to not trust me at all. He also kept asking me if I've ever used steroids. I kept telling him the truth, that I haven't, but I don't think he ever believed me. On one level I found that to be kind of a complement, but on another it's a bit insulting that he kept assuming me a liar. I told him that my wife and I are trying to conceive he told me that he wouldn't treat me until we succeeded, as taking just testosterone can cause male fertility problems. When I asked about Clomid therapy or HCG monotherapy his response was "Look if you are just here for drugs save us both time and leave." As a white, somewhat attractive, male, this was my first experience of being negatively judged based on my appearance, which I found fascinating. I decided this relationship wasn't working and moved on to find a more open-minded, less judgmental trt doctor. I do not know his trt protocol, but it wouldn't surprise me if it is the old, conservative protocol of one injection every two weeks, which doesn't work for many people. Given his stubbornness, he also strikes me as a guy who wouldn't change his protocol to fit an individual's needs.

I was convinced I had a heel fracture (been there, done that, and the reason I already owned the scooter the boot LoL). I was in so much pain I couldn't put weight on my right foot. Honestly, finding a podiatrist was my last resort, fearing the worst. I found Dr. Khan and Lonestar Podiatry and they got me in same day. After a thorough exam, he diagnosed me with Plantar Fasciitis.. sounded like a Harry Potter spell to me. He gave me a steroid shot in my heel and I got 90% pain relief on the spot! Dr. Khan also gave me easy stretching instructions and a PT prescription to help my heel heal. Six weeks later, I'm nearly back to my normal routine, I feel like this whole thing is manageable. Shoutout to the amazing front desk team, too--friendly, efficient, and total pros when it comes to booking, insurance, and not judging you for limping in like a character from Pirates of the Caribbean. Sort according to newest, those are probably the most relevant. Where do I start? I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Zhiyong Li at this practice in Garland. My experience was deeply frustrating from start to finish. Dr. Li does not make meaningful eye contact when he talks, and does not appear interested in fully understanding family concerns. He has horrible mannerisms - both in Mandarin and English. He shows absolutely ZERO empathy for patients and their families considering the line of work he's in. Bedside manner is extremely important in healthcare, especially when patients and their families may already be feeling anxious or vulnerable. If he diagnoses your loved one's condition as terminal, you will pretty much never hear or see him. He's almost to the point of nonexistent - he will never come see your loved one. When I attempted to ask follow-up questions about my dad's diagnosis, his response was, "You don't listen do you!" There was no effort made to ensure I understood the plan of care. His tone during the interaction is dismissive rather than supportive. Questions are met with short, clipped responses that lacked explanation or reassurance. More concerning was the lack of empathy shown toward both me and my family members who were present. His tone feels cold and impatient rather than compassionate. He pretends to be warm and fuzzy only on the very first visit. He shouldn't be in this line of work, period! I don't mind people who are straight-forward as I myself am a straight shooter. But he shows zero empathy and kindness to his patients and family. He's rude! He's abrasive, and arrogant! His demeanor is unfeeling, cold-hearted, insensitive, impatient, and dismissive. I understand that medical professionals are often under time pressure, but compassion and respectful communication are critical components of quality care. A doctor's role is not just to diagnose, but to communicate clearly and provide reassurance when appropriate. In this case, that standard was not met. Healthcare requires not only clinical knowledge but also communication and bedside manner. I hope significant improvements are made in patient communication and bedside manner, because the current experience will leave you with much disappointment. What I really liked is the doctor didn't rush through us. She spent time to make us feel at ease and educated us a bit on what what happening as well. Without insurance the doctor consultation was $55 and we paid another $20 for a urine exam. They were upfront about costs and asked first before preforming anything that would require additional fees. They did not accept care-credit at the time of our visit.
