I struggled getting her into the house in her drowsy state. We both fell before we got inside. Why in the hell would you send someone home 15 minutes after they wake up from anesthesia??? This is a sick factory, churning and burning to get the most out of your insurance. The smaller receptionist with the fake eyelashes was also very rude to my mom. My experience terrible experience with Dr. Mesiwala, followed by information from the PUBLIC RECORD…read morebelow, with links: I had 2 failed surgeries by Dr. Mesiwala. The first one left me with a spinal fluid leak (soaking the bed sheets with spinal fluid!) which required another surgery to repair it. This one one gave me a septic infection which put me in the ICU where my wife was told that I probably would not be going home. The wonderful hospital doctor ordered the swollen, infected area around my incision to be aspirated and tested to prove surgical infection. Before the team came to perform the aspiration procedure, Mesiwala came in and quickly ordered another nurse to administer an IV antibiotic (while he stood by and anxiously watched). This would make all of the infection tests from the surgical site come back negative. The hospital doctor on my case who ordered the test was furious about this cover-up antibiotic maneuver. She was very frank with me and said she "was shocked that he was still allowed to practice medicine but said it wouldn't go on for long." That was 18 years ago. Prior to the first surgery, a very well-known neurologist told me that Dr. Mesiwala "Has very poor judgment." A very strong statement from one MD against another, which I wish I had taken seriously. After my disastrous and nearly fatal experience, he suggested I get a lawyer and had his secretary give me the lawyer's phone number. He was on the medical board and wanted to use my case for more evidence to have Mesiwala's license revoked. I was too sick to deal with it and foolishly did not follow up. Also, prior to my surgery, even my home health nurse asked if I had done any research on Dr. Mesiwala. He then told me about the TV exposé on Dr. Mesiwala and the US Department of Justice Enterprise Corruption case for pushing a company's spinal implants after being given part of the company which made them. This is a Federal crime. I blame myself for not heeding the warnings. That's why I'm posting this for others. Now from the public record: Frequent Malpractice Lawsuits, Repeated Fraud, Medical Board Disciplinary Actions for Negligence, and a D.O.J. Racketeering investigation. The information below just scratches the surface. 1. Google search: Dr. Ali Mesiwala lawsuit One of MANY beginning in 2010 to this day: http://lawzilla.com/blog/pasternak-v-mesiwala/ Keep searching, you'll find lots more. 2. Racketeering Investigation https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/united-states-pursues-claims-against-neurosurgeon-spinal-implant-company-physician-owned 5. He was also the subject of a CBS LA news expose where he was outed for a non-FDA-approved mixture of two bone growth compounds without disclosure to the patients. This resulted in patients requiring surgeries to remove uncontrolled bone growth which had crippled them. See link below: https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/07/27/pomona-hospital-allegedly-performs-experimental-procedures/ https://www.massdevice.com/california-probes-hospital-accused-secret-clinical-trials-with-stryker-bone-products/ Again, if you keep looking on Google there is much, much more. Three years ago, I was shocked to see Dr. Mesiwala on a website as one of the "Top Three Neurosurgeons in The Inland Empire". I forwarded the public information to the online publisher. The very next morning he was removed from the list and I got a phone call with an apology from the publisher. This is an unscrupulous man who, if there were any justice, should not be practicing medicine. He quite obviously possesses no moral character demonstrates horrible judgement and extreme dishonesty.
