The procedure was handled by a nurse who openly stated she had only been there a few months and had no prior experience with EBOO treatments. She began the procedure unsupervised. During the session, the tubing clogged twice, interrupting the process, that was something that didn't happen in the first session. After that session, my health quickly declined. Within three days, I ended up in the ER with pneumonia and symptoms close to a heart attack. According to the doctor, this was likely due to excessive ozone exposure, which can cause oxidative stress and damage to cells, as well as complications affecting the heart and lungs. Months later, I am still dealing with the consequences and now require inhalers. Before this, I was a very healthy and active person, I regularly biked and hiked. I went in simply looking for a treatment that was advertised as a way to "clean and oxygenate" my blood. Instead, I walked away with permanent health issues. Communication and accountability were also unacceptable. I tried contacting the person who sold me the package (Ben) while I was in the hospital and received no response. The only time I heard back was after I threatened to dispute the credit card charge, and even then, there was no concern expressed, no follow-up, and no attempt to offer solutions despite me being hospitalized for several days. There was no doctor on-site supervising the procedure or ensuring patient safety. That alone should raise serious concerns for anyone considering this treatment. She has a Chino Hills office she's at one or two days a week I think. Overall, I love Dr. Lai's approach (I've not ever seen her partner Dr. Wang, although I hear he is excellent too). It is holistic, but grounded in science (she is board certified in Family Medicine, but also certified in Integrative Medicine). Before I moved to Glendora, I had an excellent doctor who had a similar approach and I languished for a couple years until Dr. Lai moved to Glendora. When I discovered her, I was thrilled and grateful! I like that I don't have to strip down unnecessarily every time you go in (which, sociologically, reinforces the idea that doctors are the authority figure and they have all the answers, which you should never question). Her diagnoses have been spot on and have helped me greatly in a physically turbulent stage of life without a lot of invasive treatments or pharmalogical assistance or reliance. What would've been prescribed antidepressants in a standard office was effectively resolved with a cream and a few vitamin supplements. She has been caring, flexible and takes my questions seriously. Some may find some of Renovi's procedures quirky or unconventional (I do find the office layout a bit cluttered at times and the walkie-talkies can be distracting--darn Yelp's inability to do half stars, because they really should get a 4.5, not a 4). However, I think part of what makes Renovi excellent is their willingness to think outside of the box, in a healthy and productive way, when it comes to healthcare. I care a lot more about how my body and my health are taken care of than what the office decor is or anything else.
