The remodeling of this old hardware store into a restaurant is excellent and it appears the bar is popular with locals. The menu is mostly seafood with a few steaks. The fried seafood was ok but not exceptional. My Oysters were excellent, nice sized and cooked perfectly. My wife's catfish was hard but tasty. There was a buffet but we didn't try that. The 32$ ribeye steak was thin and very small. The sides are limited and served in styrofoam. My sirloin was not medium and very tough and hard to cut. It took at least 15 min if not 20 to get napkins or water. Not to mention the tables were greasy and wobbly. The plates looked like they come from Waffle House to serve a 32$ steak. Very disappointing, not to mention I've been here 45 minutes and I am just able to pay to leave. She visited our table twice and it's not busy. read more

Spent $250 on supper for the family to go missing half the order even $10 worth of it they're hush puppies we ordered a pile of seafood and didn't even get two free hush puppies with the meal missing a lot of the seafood salad was terrible and even though they charge $3 per extra for salad as a side we had to fix it ourselves and it tasted rotten . Charge $2 for saucers which we didn't get . Missing half the sides not to mention that the flounder That was supposed to be grilled and shrimp the grill was fried as well as missing two orders of fried shrimp with two other plates . Called and spoke to the back-end manager Zack who promised to make it right even if he had to drive out that night and he would call me back in 5 minutes and let me know 24 hours later still hadn't heard from me nobody's going to do anything to make the order right but I'll be damned if I want to give them another dollar I suggest if you're looking for something else spend your money at Captain D's your food will be more edible and you'll get more for your money's worth I guarantee you I can of tuna would it take to better than this crap and I don't even eat that crap ​ ! read more

New place in Douglass. Had a great steak and chatted with the owner.. He told me the meat was superb and it did not disappoint!! I opted for the sirloin.. which can be risky at most places, but it was cooked as ordered and very tender. The prices were extremely reasonable. You've got to give it a try. The restaurant has been open a couple of weeks. We went on a Saturday night about 6:30 with a party of 6. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Service was really good. Food took about 30 minutes to come out, but I know it's new so that's to be expected. All of the food was really good and as ordered. Nice atmosphere. read more

Service could be better. It took the waitress over 10 mins to get to our table to take our drink order. When the food arrived we never got the fries that came with our order, even after asking for them 2 times. The shrimp tasted so bad that we werent able to finish even a porton of our meals. All togther we ended up paying almost $60 dollars for one of the worst restaurant experiences ever!! read more

Good food and alcohol. The place is not fancy at all. Lunch room style inside but the service is good.

Service was alright. We had to change booths twice. First time was because they have some camera with a VERY bright light that steady flashed on and off every 10 seconds or so in the middle of the tables. Second booth table was so wobbly. We ordered the salmon with steamed broccoli and loaded potatoes. Second meal was crab cakes with sweet potato soufflé and coleslaw. Salmon and loaded potatoes were cooked perfect and tasted great. Crab cakes had great flavor and huge chunks of meat but a lot of small pieces of crab shells. Coleslaw had good flavor but was warm and slight brown color to it, seemed it was left out for a while. Sweet potato soufflé had good flavor but was very mushy and looked like it had been under a heat lamp all afternoon. Broccoli just looked so unappetizing that we didn't even try it. The hush puppy appetizer were amazing. Overall I wouldn't recommend it. It'll be a while before we go back and try something else on the menu. read more

Very small lunch menu and we were disappointed fried catfish wasn't on it. Our fried shrimp was okay. It wasn't like it use to be when it was Spivey's. The chicken croissant had bits of bone in it so be careful if you get that. The fried chicken and sweet potato fries were tasty though. If we return we will stick with the fried chicken. Went to eat at The Hardwear House in Douglas, GA. tonight with the family. Found a hair melted into in my granddaughter's kid cheeseburger. Brought it to the owner, Garrett Spivey, attention. His response was "Oh well. Things like this happen. I'll take care of it. I don't need you to make a scene. " When asked for the kids cheeseburger with the hair melted into removed from the bill we were told by Garrett Spivey "Pay your bill and get out of my restaurant." I then informed the other patrons of the restaurant what the issue with our food was Garrett Spivey said " Get the fuck out of my restaurant." I told him I needed to to pay for the other meals and Garrett Spivey said "No. Get out you are banned" All this because he couldn't take a $7 kids cheeseburger with hair melted into it off our bill $150+. He also deprived his waitress of a good tip by not letting me pay. read more
