Chicken enchiladas

Visited this establishment since it was very close to my hotel. It was very lively and fully packed when I went around 7 pm. I got the order Togo so I didn't get to really sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. The chips and salsa was fantastic , really loved the salsa but wish they gave more in comparison to amount of chips we got. I ordered an entree and something a la carte because I felt I wanted to try it. The hostess recommended the 1800 special which is rice with cheese sauce and meat on top. It was good but I wish they added beans. The enchiladas on the side was also very good. It was a decent meal. If I had dined in, I would personally recommend getting a marg, they were huge and I saw many people getting them.

Shrimp and Steak Fajita

What a fantastic first visit, what a great Mexican restaurant. I do not usually try out new restaurants via takeout but in light of the challenging times we face, we chose to go that way. I am visiting Douglas and my friends recommended El 1800 for some good Mexican food. They were not kidding. Just opening all the tins of food I cold see the quality and portion size they give you here. This shop has a huge menu and I am glad that I was able to peruse the menu in the comforts of the home. There was just so much to choose from. My friend and his wife ordered the Beef Burrito and Texas Taco Salad. Both tins were just packed with delicious food. My friends finished everything but not before taking a breather. My wife had the Texas Fajita that came with steak, chicken and shrimp. She REALLY enjoyed it all. (I tasted and it was good). I had the seafood fajita consisting of shrimp, scallops and crab meat. It was a serious YUM! Shrimps were perfectly cooked and flavored. The crab meat was also well cooked and packed plenty of taste. The bay scallops really added a nice touch and were also perfectly cooked and seasoned. All this goodness went into the excellent flour tortilla. There rice, beans and guacamole were OUTSTANDING! Did I mention at the excellent start to this excellent dinner we had their crispy thin nacho chips, salsa and cheese sauce. This was fantastic and I just knew after munching on this that my dinner would also be great. I am a New Yorker and would happily put El 1800 in my town on Long Island. I am looking forward to my next trip here when hopefully we'll be able to dine in. Until then... I will just have to wait. KUDOS to the team at EL 1800.

Carne asada

Made a trip to Douglas GA just to visit El 1800 today!! I had the carne asada which was a little bit thinner than what I am used to but it had great flavor. It was served with store bought flour tortillas which are not my favorite but I made due! The beans and rice were really good and once everything was added into the tortilla and the flavors meshed together it was all amazing! My s/o had the El 1800 special Texas style which had plenty of flavor, the steak, chicken and shrimp was seasoned very well and it was covered in white cheese. The best part of tonight was finding out that they had amazing horchata that was served in the largest beer mug! I will definitely be back to try different dishes and more horchata!

The food was good but the seat at the booth we sat in was dirty. The staff were very friendly though.

The food here was very good. I was here on a business trip with another coworker and he agreed. As another reviewer mentioned outside the restaurant is nothing to look at and most people might just walk right by without giving this gem a chance. But that would definitely be your loss. The interior is nice and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The parking lot is shared with the Super 8 motel and the Hampton Inn so parking might be a little packed on busier days. The meal was seasoned well, tender and juicy. I really liked and the sauces they have too. The drinks are huge and strong too. Which for me is a mega plus! Will definitely go again if in the area again, well worth the price which was very reasonable.

Combo #4 beef enchilada and beef tamale

We arrived and the parking lot was full with people standing by the door. Inside the place was packed and many seemed to be celebrating an occasion. We were seated in a timely manner. After a moment or two our server arrived to take our drink order. I guess this place doesn't make cranberry beverages. As our club soda didn't have the requested cranberry, but sported both lime and lemon which was a plus. The chips and salsa were amazing. At first bite it took me back to my favorite Mexican restaurant that closed down. The chunky guacamole was indeed chunky. Large quarters of avocado we had to s munch to get on the chip. It tasted delicious. Hubby ordered the taco el pastore he liked them. I had the enchilada tamale combo. The tamale tasted better than Ive had in a restaurant. The beef enchilada tasted like the tamale with a corn tortilla. No difference in taste or consistency. I would have loved a cheese enchilada instead. Over all the food was ok. Still for this small town it's a great place with food everyone seems to like. Natali our server was sweet and lovely even though she was running the whole time

Taqueria Pancho Villa II - Side enchilada with beef

Taqueria Pancho Villa II

Taqueria Pancho Villa II is an excellent spot for tasty, authentic Mexican food in a simple and…read morelaid-back environment. My buddy Blaine and I went to Pancho Villa II on Saturday night. We were in town to hunt and needed a good dinner. He had been here before and his wife really likes this place too. This place was decently busy which is always a good sign. Douglas is also a small town and limited options also tend to make places busier. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and opted to sit at the bar. We didn't have any drinks but instead stuck with water. Our server was around quickly and took our orders. We both got Tacos Mexicanos. Mine were with Al Pastor and my buddy got Chorizo. I ordered a side of the beef enchilada and my buddy ordered a queso Blanco with chorizo in it. We are also given a basket of chips with a fresh and tasty salsa. This was excellent as well. Our sides were up first. The enchilada was colorful and hot. It came out on a piping-hot plate. Covered in melted cheese and sauce. This simple, small but tasty enchilada was stuffed with fresh ground beef. The wrap it was in was tasty and for only $1.95, this was definitely worth it. The tacos came out soon after. Three tacos, decently sized. A fresh lime squeeze and a drizzle of verde sauce to top them off. The Al Pastor was perfectly cooked, tender and well seasoned. The meat was savory and had a hint of sweetness. These tacos were also topped with fesh cilantro. They hit the spot and were some of the best I've had. We will be back here for sure.

There wasn't many people in the restaurant when we arrived. So it wasn't like he was busy. He was very friendly and polite. The place was clean.
