The atmosphere is casual but very comfortable and fun, loved all the open windows and natural light. The food is slightly pricey for not coming with fries or any sides, but the flavors were great and we enjoyed both the smash burger and chicken sandwich! The bbq flavor was very light on the chicken sandwich but very tender and juicy, so overall good. There's a nice patio too. Would consider coming again

My wife, son, and I visited the Dog Haus in New Albany around 8:25 p.m. on Thursday, and it was one…read moreof the worst dining experiences we've had. Even before we were seated, I noticed a server wearing a green bandanna speaking to another employee, who we later learned was the manager on duty, in a way that seemed unprofessional and unfriendly. After we were seated, my wife asked if we could move because she was cold. We then waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. When our server finally arrived, she acted like she didn't want to be there. My wife asked for a recommendation, but the response was vague and unhelpful. Our drink order was wrong. My wife and I ordered waters, and our son ordered a Sprite, but we received two lemonades and one water instead. After taking our order, our server disappeared. She never brought our food, checked on us, asked if we needed refills, or stopped by the table again. The manager walked past our table several times but never seemed interested in checking on our experience. The biggest issue was my son's meal. He ordered chicken sliders with the sauce on the side, but they arrived covered in sauce. Another employee took the meal back to be remade, but it came back wrong a second time. By then, my wife and I had already finished eating, and our son had been waiting nearly an hour without a proper meal. When I spoke with the manager, I asked that my son's meal be removed from the bill. Instead of taking responsibility and apologizing, the manager offered excuses rather than solutions. Mistakes can happen, but it's how they're handled that matters. Unfortunately, the customer service from both our server and the manager was disappointing. We left frustrated, and based on this experience, we will not be returning to this location.

Sat at bar; bartender gave us the daily special, which all sounded good. We were kind of hungry for fish to which she said Friday cod fish sandwich with fries was special on Friday at $10 a plate. Fish sandwiches were very good, fish and batter nice an crispy and not saturated in oil, I really liked the fries as far as fries go. Kudos to Fireside!

My wife really liked the pulled pork. It was moist and tender without a whole lot of fat. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. Nice and crunchy. My brisket dinner was also really good. Nice and tender and really good smoked flavor. My only problem is it's pretty pricey for two and a half slices of brisket. But it was really good. The coleslaw was good, it was like a creamy vinegar slaw. The beans in my opinion were good but I think they were sitting around for a while. They were just thick and sticky. Again, just my opinion, I like my beans a little more saucy. The service was great, and the restaurant itself was rustic looking and very clean. I will definitely give Rubbin Butts another try on our next trip through southern Indiana.
