Probably one of the most hometown, country cooking, little joints in the whole state of Indiana. The service is fantastic, the coffee is always hot and fresh. Plates are typical southern fare, and you get a meals worth. It's decorated with photos of locals and their military members. I highly recommend it for breakfast. read more

We did a call in take out order. Purchased 2 catfish dinners. Said order would be ready in 20 minutes. Arrived @ 30 minutes but order was not ready yet. They were really busy, so first Friday of lent and many wanting similar fish dinners. Being originally from Wisconsin we love a Good Friday Fish Fry! Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and the food. They even gave a little boy ( maybe 5-7 some suckers which made his day. Food came up and put in the extras and paid up. Check was easy. Got home and opened up and the dinners were nice sized and the catfish was pretty good! We lived in Tennessee for a couple years and would not normally eat a catfish but we grew to favor a good catfish dinner. As we were told in Tennessee it's all about the breading. There were 2 nicely sized portions in the dinner. These were pretty good. This might not have been our favorite catfish dinning place but definitely honorable. Most definitely will be back and try other items and maybe a breakfast . I would have made it a 5 if I didn't have to wait another 20 min after already arriving late. But somewhat minor since I wasn't going anywhere but home. Definitely visit this local place and try it out; I doubt you will be disappointed!!!! read more

Bobby Jo was our friendly and helpful server. I found restroom to be clean and stylin. Food was like homemade, hot and delivered soon after ordering. I'm glad we got in as early as we did. The service is fast and friendly, the food is hot, made to order, comes out quickly and tastes great. Don't flavor the sausage before you try it, it is perfectly seasoned already! The lemonade is tart and refreshing. Only point is mention other than fabulous was the fact the eggs were a little dry given that I order mine soft scrambled because I prefer them to have more moisture. Was glad to see Franks hot sauce already on the table because it goes great on breakfast. The ambiance is quaint. You walk right to the left to seat yourself or step the right for carry out. When it's busy there is definitely a buzz of conversation that those with sensory issues or hard of hearing might find a little challenging, but if you don't mind it it's a busy, bustling vibrant place to grab a quick, tasty and filling breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. We had Western Omelets, biscuits, and coffee. The omelet were great and stuffed to the brim with veggies like onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, etc and the coffee was hot and fresh. The service was also friendly and fast. It was my first time there but I'll be back! read more

Copper Kettle was a dandy little restaurant we found during our recent trip to Morristown Indiana. They specialize in American style eats with lots of burgers and familiar American type dishes. It's a nice homey type of environment with some extra friendly and hard working staff. I tried their Seafood Platter which came with Alaskan Pollock, catfish, 4 butterflied Shrimp, kettle fries, hushpuppies, and coleslaw. The sides were all fine with the hushpuppies being my favourite of the trio. The shrimp was excellent and the pollock was quite good. However the star of this dish was the catfish which was cooked to absolute perfection and had super awesome flavour. It was as superb of a version of catfish as I've had in a long time and perhaps ever have. My wife got a patty melt type of sandwich which she thoroughly enjoyed. I have no bad marks on this restaurant and highly recommend it. We'll definitely be back. read more

We were just in town because of the Cub Scout summer camp so throughout the week we wanted to try local restaurants in the area. We tried They had a large menu and served breakfast all day. It looks like they team up to help each other. Our main server was OK. Her coworker was a lot friendlier and welcoming. Asked about the chicken fried steak and found out it was just a frozen patty so we decided to go with the cheeseburgers. Children wanted pancakes for lunch. The pancakes were large and worth the money. We think that they put a cartoon shape in the center of the pancake to entertain the children. Also, their bacon was very good and large. The hamburger was OK, you just probably just frozen patties hoping for like just a handmade burger with real meat you know what I mean When you tried to talk to the person who took our payment she was friendly and helpful. Terrible! Horrible...one of the worst dining experiences in over 40 years. 12/13/2023, 7PM. Lovely, older gal that offered good service. Two tables of twenty each, that were so loud, toddlers running everywhere, we couldn't even hear one another. We only came up to eat locally, and see the Christmas lights. The food was ghastly. Grilled chicken, g. beans, and corn...all, obviously out of a can and on the stove for hours, or instant. Popped in here quickly before a hike at nearby Charlestown State Park and ordered take out. We went in during COVID and it seemed to be decently abiding by COVID precautions. It was definitely busy so seemed to be a local favorite on a Saturday morning. Our food came out relatively quickly and I got exactly what I expected for the price. Small town, mom-n-pop type of diner breakfast food. Nothing fancy, but nothing a packet of salt/pepper and ketchup packet can't fix. read more

Great Food! I had the Country Fried Steak lunch plate (there is breakfast plate too) with corn, green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. ALL of it tasted like home cookin as advertised on the front windows! Others in our party had hamburgers and cheeseburgers with those old fashioned french fries. It all tasted good to them too and all agreed we would be coming back regularly. Also great service with multiple servers attending to even the smallest of needs. I highly recommend them for a home cooked meal. Oh yes, in addtion to their regular menu fare of home cooking was a large section on fish & shrimp. Several kinds of fish and lots of selections. In Charlestown Indiana is one of the best little eateries around. The Copper Kettle is a very warm and welcoming establishment serving some of if not the best comfort food in the area. The atmosphere is really laid back and there really isn't a dress code, it's just good people eating good food. I had the 6oz Ribeye Sandwich and fries 7.79 my spouse had chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and corn and green beans. Perfectly portioned, it came with a dinner roll. $6.99. That's a great deal for a good meal Then of course there was blackberry or peach cobbler...I chose the blackberry. Restaurant is open daily from 6am-8pm. They have a great breakfast menu with outstanding biscuits and gravy. There is a wait occasionally but it's usually no longer than 15 minutes If you are headed to the Charlestown State Park then stop by the kettle, you'll be happy you did! read more

Their burgers are fresh from the cow and tastes great especially with a perfect balance of cold lettuce, tomato, pickles, and ketchup and hot patty with cheese. At the nearby campground in a rainstorm and decided to go into "town" for dinner. This for the bill so perfectly! Can't go wrong with "breakfast served all day" but we had dinner - patty melt and fries for him, country fried steak and gravy for her. Crinkle cut fries were freshly fried and piping hot, patty melt bread had just the right crunch. Steak and homemade mashed potatoes were covered in really good country gravy and served with both corn as green beans (and a warm roll with butter). Was excited to try this place after having heard good things about it. Unfortunately, I must have REALLY crappy luck with restaurants because it was our first, last and only visit. I ordered my usual favorite breakfast meal---biscuits and gravy, with "scrambled" eggs on top. My food was cold and the gravy congealed and nasty. The eggs were no more "scrambled" than an omelette (an issue I have with more than one restaurant) and cold as well. My wife's sausage patty was a cold, overdone piece of shoe leather, but they got her a new one that was better. As for me---one bitten, twice shy. Did not get a replacement for mine since, if you're going to fuck the order up once, what's to keep you from fucking it up again? Suffice to say, it was not worth the drive up and it's unlikely we will be back. P.S. Service IS extremely slow. read more
