Stopped for lunch today. We had burgers and fries. The restaurant is bright and fun. Music was loud but did not hinder talking at our table. Staff was friendly and the burgers and fries were delicious. Love you can customize your burger. The hamburgers are huge. My daughter got the little hamburger which was still big burger. She got hers with grilled onions, mayo, grilled mushrooms and jalapeños. Mine was tomato, pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and mayo. My husband got his with lettuce mayo onions and tomatoes. They were cooked well and the juices dripped from the burger as we ate, so grab plenty of napkins it is worth it! read more

I just took my two children there to eat and myself and my order was $67 and all I had to pay with was a $100 bill and they turned me away. Young inexperienced millennial manager said that it was corporate policy that she could not accept my $100 bill as a legal tender. I told her that I know it is not corporate policy because I had just taken my kids to the other location the previous day and they accepted my money with no problem. I've eaten at Five Guys many, many times over the years. The burgers are really good, but I don't think they're the best. As other reviewers stated, their price point is rather high for what you're getting. I can pay an equivalent or lesser amount for a burger that'll vote better in a blind test taste. On many occasions I thought to myself how over priced my meal was as the employee called out the cost and I handed over my payment card. The fries are really good, but I also agree that they go overboard with the amount of fries they give. I rarely ever eat half the amount given. I ordered the hotdog on my last visit. I've tasted better in the past, but it satisfied. This location has outdoor seating, which is nice, especially if you don't want to sit in their cold restaurant. I've found many of their locations to be cold. I've always found the customer service to be good, including this New Albany location. I don't eat hamburgers very often so I didn't realize how true recent reviews and articles are about Five Guys. Service was good. The tables were dirty tho. Food was average (decent burger with droopy fries half in the bag). The meal definitely wasn't worth the high price! Dine-in music was too loud; it could be heard out in the parking lot. What you need to know about Five Guys is that when I go there I eat enough food for five guys. True story. I love the cajun seasoned fries and the burgers are among my favorite of all time. Speaking of fries, nobody does "surprise fries" better than Five Guys. BTW, "surprise fries" are the orphaned fries left in the bag that have fallen out of the fry container. It's been my experience that Five Guys will give you an scoop of extra fries in the bag just because they're nice guys. The restaurant is clean and the service is fast and friendly. I do feel like the price might be a little high for a burger and fries, but the portions are large (especially the fries!) which helps bridge that gap. "This better be a damn good burger for $11," I said as we sat down at our table. And, you know what? It was a good burger; just not for $11. That $11.10 included the small cheeseburger, regular fries and a regular soda. The burger was very fresh and reminded me of In 'N Out on the West Coast (though that joint will give you a meal for under $6). You get to choose as many toppings as you like which is nice. The bun suffered under the strain, but it held. There are a ridiculous amount of fries in a regular serving. You get a cup of fries (that's enough, thanks) and then they take another scoop and just drop it in the bag. I'm a little compulsive, so I kept eating fries until everyone was done and they had to tell me to stop. The fries tasted fine on the whole, but many are soggy with oil and they were EXTREMELY salty. Service was fine, but I didn't have the overwhelming experience that some of the other reviewers experienced. Overall, food was good, but definitely not a good value. I can't believe I've never been here before! A little pricey at $30 for two bacon cheeseburgers and fries, but it was totally worth it. We waited about 5 minutes on a friday afternoon which isn't bad. They really do give you a bag of fries. I got cajun fries and they were just the right amount of seasoned. OMG ! where do I start . I absolutely love it . I got a big bacon cheeseburger smothered with onions and extra mushroom mayo lettuce pickles and tomatoe . It was delicious . I wasn't a very big fan of the fries although I don't typically like those kind of fries anyway(I don't eat Penn station fries either) when I walked in I noticed it was pretty clean and upkept . Although I did see some ants at the drink station . I told the guys behind the counter and they quickly wiped up the stickiness and sprayed some bleach on the counter . The price was a little steep . But it was very much so worth it . I will definitely be returning in the near future . My son doesn't ever really eat red meat but he enjoyed the burger he got as well and he ate all of it . That's another star right there . If you want to pay a decent price for an AMAZING BURGER this is the place for you . I've been to a few five guys around the country and they are all about the same layout. It is clean inside with plenty of seating. The burgers here are great and prepared to order and the fries are fantastic. Get the Cajun fries to spice it up a bit! All the burger toppings are free so load up! I've eaten at the New Albany location since they opened several years ago. The food is good, but pricey. Overpriced in my opinion. That's why I only go The a couple of times a year. The past 2 times I've been there, customer service has been lacking. Today was the worst. I walked in and was admittedly in an indecisive mood. I'm 30 feet from the counter still, when the guy yells " at hat can I get you?" I replied that I wasn't sure yet. So he stares, literally just stares at me. After a minute or 2 I decide against a burger and decided to order their fries to go. When I told him my order, he just stared. Then said " that's it? Seriously?" I said yes. He said don't you want more, like a sandwich? I said " no, just the fries" His reply was " alright so guess, if that's all you want." I said, on second thought, I don't want anything. Not if I'm going to be treated like this. Went to Chic-Fil-A next door. Update - I did contact their customer service. I just wanted to pass on my experience. I DO not want anything from them, nor would I accept it. My wish was that the experience would be better the next time I go there. Now I don't think there will be a next time. I never heard back from their customer service department. Even left my phone number. I guess that speaks volumes for what is going on there. That's okay. I am not a huge fan of fast food of late. I cannot think of one trip to the "Big Five of fast food" where we have received our order where it was hot, fresh or more importantly-the order was correct in the last few years. Thank goodness there's an alternative. When we want a burger and fries; we head to Five Guys. The burgers are fresh, made with real burger (not pre-pressed, frozen patties made with goodness knows what) and cooked and dressed to order. You choose your size - one patty or two- you choose your toppings from an extensive list and they put it together for you. Even the buns are fresh! The burgers are priced by the patty, no extra cost for the toppings. The fries are fresh cut and fried in peanut oil. You can smell them as you walk in the door and it makes your mouth water. Your fries come in two sizes; small and large. Small easily feeds two hungry people and large can go to four. They also offer kosher grilled dogs - hubby is a fan- and veggie burgers as well as your standard assorted fountain beverages. While you wait, they have boxes of peanuts that you are welcome to dig into to pass the time. Then there is the staff. As you walk in the door, you are greeted from the grill. The counter person is always polite and acts like you are the only person in the store that matters. Every time we have been there, someone has been cleaning the dining area and it shows. Tables, floors, bathrooms- always clean and stocked. When you leave you get at least one "Goodbye and thanks for coming!" These folks care about their customers and they want you to come back. Haven't eaten here much, but I must say, I love the burgers. I love that you can get unlimited toppings and can mix it up. They serve you so many fries that you only need one order for 2 people! Awesome! They are a little pricey, but if you share the fries it helps the price. Also, we have a very picky child who won't eat burgers. I was very surprised at the cleanliness and attention to detail in the afternoon, after the lunch rush. My wife and I came when it was not crowded -- maybe a few customers in the dining room with trash on the floor and tables, tables not cleaned, our order was not what I asked for and we noticed one employee on their cell phones texting while (I think) they were on duty. What's with this? Four guys standing around when there was much to do. My wife and I are sorry about this situation and we are considering finding another place to eat. We sat there at our table for over 20 minutes with no effort made and the dining area a rather mess. Customer Service is as good as the food, and the food is reminiscent of a wonderful little burger joint in California called In-n-Out. Their burgers are so sloppy when you drive through, they put them in a little box lid to corral the mess. I am so happy I found a similar slice of heaven. The french fries are literally to die for.
