The PB & J Burger sounds wild on paper, but it absolutely works. The peanut butter brings that rich, savory creaminess, and paired with the jalapeño jelly, it hits this perfect sweet-with-a-kick balance that keeps every bite interesting. It's one of those burgers that makes you stop after the first bite like, "okay... this is legit." The Sweet Heat Burger leans even more into that flavor combo. The sweetness comes through first, then the heat builds, and that jalapeño jelly really ties it all together, adding both sweetness and a subtle spice that doesn't overpower the burger itself. It's bold, messy in the best way, and just really well executed. Neither of these quite cracked my personal #1 burger of all time, but they're not far off. Both were seriously delicious, packed with flavor, and easily worth trying if you're in the area.

My burger was good and meaty but light on seasonings. My tater tots were just plain bad. Overcooked, smaller than normal tots, and crumbling apart in the bag. My husband and I played shuffle board while we waited. The mushroom tater tots were so yummy! However, I found that the smash burger was good, but not great. That being said, the sauce that came with the plain tater tots was delightful!

The star of the show is their legendary pork tenderloin sandwich, don't do pork you could get it in chicken or fish version!! . It's huge, perfectly breaded, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor in every bite. But here's the secret: you have to get it fully loaded. The pickles, onions, tomatoes , and that famous house hot sauce take it to a whole different level. That hot sauce is pure magic -- tangy, spicy, and the perfect kick that ties the whole sandwich together. Every bite is messy in the best possible way, and honestly that's how you know it's done right. It's the kind of sandwich that makes you stop mid-bite and just appreciate how good it is. I definitely couldn't eat it all in one setting! Places like this are why Kansas City's food scene is so special. No frills, just incredible food made the way it should be. If you haven't been to Kitty's Café yet, you're seriously missing out. FYI it is a cash only!

My buddy got the loaded fries with brisket queso, steak, and brisket, and they were amazing. That brisket queso had an awesome smoky flavor, and the portions on everything were HUGE. It is definitely on the pricey side, but with the portion sizes and quality of the food, I'd say it was worth it. My only real complaint was the small seating area, and the wait was pretty long. That said, they're upfront about it...they make everything fresh and even warn you that they "aren't fast food." So if you're willing to wait, I'd definitely recommend giving The UpperCut KC a try. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3.
