No waiters or anything. Pastries are good too. Recommend the cookies! It gets VERY VERY VERY crowded here. Unless you want to sit outside, don't come here when there's a lot of cars outside. I had takeout that was purchased an hour prior to when I had lunch, but when I went to open my meal, it was still warm & fresh! It was also wrapped and packaged neatly. The sweet potato fries were also yummy and didn't taste too fried or oily. I would've thought they were baked! For a burger and fries, I didn't feel gross and sluggish afterwards either. I would definitely visit here sometime!

Had the chicken club sandwich with fries and a water. I love a good club sandwich and this didn't disappoint! It was very tasty and satisfying and the chicken was cooked to pet and juicy! The bacon was crisp and the fries were golden brown, crispy and sweet. The inside was extremely clean and comfortable. The temperature inside was cool and the aroma made you hungry. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it was lunchtime on a Saturday on Wade Hampton and thin place was not very busy. This really scares me when the food is this good but the place isn't busy. This is definitely another "will return soon" place. If you're reading this, yes, give it a try. I think I spent maybe $15 for my meal. Not horrible in today's economy.

A burger with a RANDOM number of pickles. I counted FIVE. I'm still recovering. And don't even get me started on the custard. It was creamy. It was cold. It was delicious. Which is actually the problem -- because now I want more, and I simply don't have the time in my busy schedule of being dramatic. Also, why was everyone so nice?? I came READY to be upset, and they RUINED that by being friendly and helpful. Overall: Would I go back? ...Yes. But I will be bringing my ruler next time to measure the pickle distribution.

Craft cocktails and house beers served at a bustling wood-heavy bar, playful signage, local flair, and a relaxed but rowdy Southern vibe. The bartender bursting with Southern personality stands behind the rich, wood-worn bar, confident and radiant. Her sleeves are rolled up, a few loose strands of hair catching the daylight as she moves with effortless rhythm. A warm, knowing smile spreads across her face as she happily serves a jug of the house-made egg nog. Soon after, she prepares a crafty Old Fashioned--measuring the bourbon, stirring clear ice in a heavy rocks glass, perfectly embodying the brewery's quirky southern soul and big-hearted attitude. There's a lived-in comfort to the space: scuffed wood that tells stories, sunlight pooling across tables, and small-town pride in every detail. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, equal parts gathering place and second home. It's where locals come not just for the beer or cocktails, but for the familiarity--the nods, the shared jokes, the sense of belonging that keeps them hanging around long after the glass is empty. The Clock has been here for over forty years. Longer than most marriages. Longer, certainly, than…read morethe one my parents had, which lasted closer to thirty years and ended, according to my father, because of a disagreement about a sectional sofa. As I pull into the parking lot, I think about how a place that has lasted this long makes everything else in town look a little "new." Inside, regulars shake hands across the dining room like it's Sunday after church. I can't keep a houseplant alive for six months, and these people have been coming back to this same place, to order the same food, for years. Chili cheeseburger after chili cheeseburger, building something between community and cardiology. Maybe that's loyalty. Maybe I'm just projecting. I look at the burger for a second before I eat it, the patty, the chili, the cheese, maybe onions, stacked up like it's been doing this exact thing since before I was born. It is genuinely, embarrassingly good, in the way things are good when they haven't been overthought. And it was delicious in spite of health value. If you're eating at The Clock for health value, I direct you to the salads with prejudice. The menu runs from salads, to tacos, to hot dogs to a meat and three (or for those in Greer, a meat and four), which is not a range you encounter often in a single establishment. It is the culinary equivalent of a man who says he can fix anything. You are skeptical, and then you watch him fix the thing, and you don't know whether to be impressed or slightly ashamed of your own limitations. Ask anyone around town and they'll tell you about roller skating car hops, late night gatherings after high school games, real ice cream milkshakes. Those stories aren't really about the food. They're about who they were when they ate it. I order the sweet tea. It arrives cold and correct. I'm certain my dentist has a handshake agreement with Jimmy that both will keep each other in business a long time. I will come back here, but not as often as I should. We all have our faults.
