To stay in business for 91 years you know they must be doing something right. I stopped in here for lunch on July 20th 2025 with eight friends. We are all Bears fans and were a little apprehensive about stopping in Green Bay - but I'm so glad we did. Al's is a quaint little diner, but it was a beautiful day and Al's has an inviting outdoor biergarten so we opted to eat outside. I had Al's 1/4 pound Classic with America Cheese and a side of fries. The burger was good but a buddy and I agreed it was a little too salty. The fries were delicious. Service was friendly and quick. If you ever find yourself in Green Bay and you're hungry, you might want to give Al's a try.

Ordered the "surf n turf" which the pepper steak with Cajun shrimp added. It seemed "rebellious" to top a cheesesteak w shrimp. The rebellion worked!! It was great. I actually took half home and it was even better after the ride home. We ordered tots to share. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, because when the food arrived I thought the tots looked weird. Then my son showed me that they are "Tetris Tots" (see pic). So fun!!!! Anyway... get out and support local business serving delicious fun at a reasonable price!!! Totally recommend.

The inside almost feels like a house that was renovated into a restaurant in the coolest way possible with a very open layout, stripped-down feel, and a super unique kitchen setup literally right behind the bar. If you're a Star Wars fan, this place is a must. The theme throughout the restaurant was awesome and definitely added to the experience for us since we're huge Star Wars people. The staff overall was really friendly and welcoming too. Special shoutout to the hostess Lea super friendly... wink wink if you know, you know. Our server was chipper and sweet the whole time. She did accidentally get our drinks wrong and forgot the cheese on my burger, but honestly it wasn't a huge deal because she was so nice about everything. The burger itself was decent but a little dry. I did appreciate the extra pickles though because that's exactly how I like it. Now let's talk about the real reason to go here- drumroll... Cheese Whiz cheesesteak. Absolutely incredible. Honestly one of the best cheesesteaks I've had in a long time and 100% worth the drive alone. The cheese curds were also really good and definitely worth ordering for the table. And when I mean drive I mean drive, just a few hours south from Chicago aka Bear land, GO BEARS Overall, not every single item blew us away, but the atmosphere, Star Wars theme, friendly staff, and THAT cheesesteak made this place memorable. We'd absolutely come back just for the Cheese Whiz sandwich.

The golf hitting bays right by the restaurant without any division is odd but nothing that should shy you away. I'm assuming it's a hard place to attract people to beacuse of the location.
