always had good food here until this last week. I went there in the morning before work and bought a grilled cheese bacon breakfast sandwich and it was cold not even warm but like it wasn't heated at all. my wife wanted to try the grilled cheese bacon double with curly fries for lunch so I ordered two combos. $32.00 for two combos and the fries were old and cold and the sandwich was cold and dry. no mayo or whatever sauce that is usually on it. what the heck happened to this place. read more

I got Hardee's today and I usually only ever get their chicken tenders. I shit you not, they give me the smallest chicken tenders every single time I order from this place. I was planning on taco bell for lunch, but they permanently closed, so i chose to go to Hardees. I'm doing my new year's resolution and I had lunch planned around Taco Bell. Thank you Hardee's for putting calories on your menu. I chose the bbq chicken sandwich. When I entered the restaurant there were no customers in line. Three employees passed by me, finally the 4th said she would be right with me. Come on at least acknowledge that I'm there. The gal that rang me up was efficient and got the job done. the sandwich came out quick. I took it to go. It was a bland sandwich, I think even an onion slice would have added something. this came with lettuce and tomato. Be prepared the meat is slippery. zit slides right out of the bun. Thankfully they included napkins in my to go bag. Normally I get the spicy chicken and the onion rings, but damned new year's resolution defeated me. Went here today and walked in for a to go order due to COVID first off the lady running the show was very rude!!! Asked for ketchup in the drive through and she very rudely stated ur suppose to ask at window! I'm going to keep this one short and sweet.... It's the closest one to our house so it's convenient. They inside is usually clean and everyone that we dealt with that works there has always been nice. My one problem with this place is that they can't seem to include everything in an order. Almost half of the time that we order from the drive-thru, we get home to find out that we're missing something that we ordered! We've had to start sitting at the window, holding up the people behind us that've been waiting as well, so that we can double check our order to make sure that everything's there. Such a pain! So I went to this location Sunday for chicken strips cause they are usually amazing. I order with a grouchy employee named Marilyn. She asked us I wanted regular fries I initially said yes not thinking my mind went between curly fries and onion rings when I realized this and told her curly fries she was rude. Didn't give me a total or tell me to pull around. Standard drive thru lingo. Whatever. Pull around a guy takes my money hands me my drink. He comes back gives me my change hands me my food and closed the window. Very rude imo I pull off fries are cold disappointing but I would have said oh well but my chicken strips were burnt. How do you give someone cold fries and burnt chicken strips? I pull back up to the window and tell the guy I want my money back. Handed him the bag of food and tried to give him the soda. He said no need. Marilyn comes back to the window tells me to give her the soda and is inconvenienced. I tell her she's rude I'm calling corporate and asked if she's the store manager she says yes. I said well that's crazy how you give me cold fries and burnt chicken and I'm inconveniencing you. Very rude very unprofessional the whole transaction. I have eaten at this location multiple times. When I first discovered Hardees in my college years I was HOOKED! They have big juicy burgers and a large variety of sandwiches. They taste fresh and really cheesy. This place redefines fast food burgers with words BIG, JUICY, and CHEESY. I always feel satisfied and full-stomached after leaving a Hardee's. read more

Marilyn the manager in charge in morning time was very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional!! I went in to order my food to go for me and my family. She was taking the guys order in front of me. When she was done she just walked away like I wasn't even there!! So about 5 mins later while she is still walking around ignoring me I finally asked if anyone was going to take my order, shes over there in the corner laughing about it!! Stay Far Away from this Hardee's if you have a known food allergy! Every Hardee's in the Des Moines area, as well as the Ankeny Hardee's, will make exceptions for my food allergy. Well, not this Hardee's! I am not able to eat eggs. I have to have the egg removed from any breakfast items I may order. Every single Hardee's...except this one....allows me to replace the egg with something else at no charge. I usually get ham instead of the egg. I am not asking for a discount off my order, just a replacement of the egg. If I order a breakfast sandwich and ask for extra egg it is an additional $.60. If I ask to remove the egg shouldn't there be a $.60 discount? Well, I am not asking for that...just an equal amount to replace the egg I can't have! So when the person at the drive-up this morning refused to make the exchange, and wanted to charge me the extra $.60, I asked her to ask her manager. She stated she was one of the managers, and she was told she was not allowed to make the substitution. I said, "So because I am allergic to eggs, I am going to be charged an extra $.60?" She said "YES!" I promptly pull away from the drive-thru and will NEVER spend another penny in that establishment! My husband, son and myself used to eat there for breakfast of lunch/dinner at least once a month, if not more. I realize our refusal to go there again will not effect them one little bit, but I want others to know this Hardee's doesn't care about you, your money or your food allergy needs! BTW...I proceeded to go to the Hardee's in Ankeny and they had no problem with my needs or my request. Guess who is going to keep getting my business?! read more

Kind of upsetting when they went and got rid of my ultimate omelets but that's okay I still get the biscuits and gravy occasionally but I do miss them hopefully they'll come back they are very fast in the morning for breakfast you can tell the people love doing their jobs. read more

I love to grab Hardee's breakfast every chance I get, but the last time I was here I was disappointed with the quality of the food: Burnt bacon, old sausage, eggs and biscuits. The service was nice enough, but it was as if the back of the house didn't care about what they were doing. Disappointing, it could have been much better. read more

Our sandwiches were wrong and the cashier told us to keep the wrong ones and they'd make new ones. A short time later a lady we believe was the manager on duty came to us with new sandwiches but was very rude about it and took the wrong sandwiches and my son asked why and she was rude in her response. Additionally the hamburger meat was very mushy as if undercooked and had the texture of already being chewed. We didn't eat the food and instead discarded it into the trash receptacle. We will not be back to this location. The cashier was great but the reddish haired lady with glasses that we think was the manager, needs educated in customer service. This location was disaster.
