Came here for a wedding actually. As a rule I have a great distaste for country clubs because of…read morethe snoot factor. This place is no different. It has a well manicured 18 hole golf course, nine more holes (27 total) gym, two pools, tennis courts and all that. It also has a clubhouse which is the focus of my review. First off, this is the ugliest clubhouse I've ever entered. Think Little Rascals He Man Woman Hater's Club if you're that much into club houses. Ugly brown crown molding, ratty carpeting, ugly beige walls and exposed wood ceilings. The lobby looks like a mausoleum too. After the ceremony in a non cool room (idiots turned on the heat by mistake), we were sent into the reception area, which was the south room and adjoining spaces. At least they actually had on the AC in here. Open bar and passed canapés as one would expect. Some of these canapés including bacon wrapped scallops stand out because they were AWFUL!! I almost spit out the spinach pie; I should've known better when I saw them drizzled with heaven knows what. Scallops over cooked and lousy...at least there was an open bar. After two dark rum and colas, I even had enough of that; cheap lo-rent swill. Salad was simple mixed greens with a slice of cuke, some red onion and a couple of CHILLED cherry tomatoes. Well, there was the next sign that the kitchen doesn't know what it's doing. Tomatoes are supposed to be room temperature; period. Dressing stop said salad was nondescript. For entrees the Queen Bee had crab stuffed grouper and I had filet mignon. Filet was bland but had a halfway decent demiglaze with it. Queen Bee didn't care for her grouper. Everyone else at the table seemed more or less okay with it. To be fair, I didn't try the stuff. Both entrees were accompanied by overcooked asparagus and bland rice pilaf. Blech! I'm sure the wedding party paid good money for this stuff. If this is any sign of how their dining rooms are, then kindly include me OUT of this club. I'd rather graze on the grass from the 10th fairway. The desserts you see are provided by an outside bakery so nothing to say here. Not really much worthwhile or positive to say about having a function here, either. Have it at Chuck E. Cheese or a bowling alley instead! Eh!!

The ones in charge are smiley while the teachers know their stuff. On the flip side, most of the building staff appears stuffed with high schoolers earning community hours-- in other words, they look moody and are silent. But everyone else is great. BUILDING During my martial arts classes, the air conditioning in the "big room" is pretty noisy and can make listening to instructors difficult (especially since many classes are composed of elementary kids)... or deafeningly quiet when it decides to stop working. There isn't a real "waiting area" for parents to work/read while waiting for their kids. Constant things to do include a basketball court, playground, mini waterpark (seasonal) Despite these setbacks, there's a charm about this rec center. Tennis Tampa Bay and all the Tennis League Network leagues are great and I highly recommend them if…read moreyou want a self-organized, flexible league. How it works is you pay a flat fee for a season (or multiple seasons for a discount I think?) and then get access to a list of all the other people who signed up and their contact information. Then, it's up to you to schedule matches and play as many as you want throughout the season. At the end of the season, you are seeded based on your total win record in your division, and the playoffs begin. There are also great prizes depending on how far you go in the playoffs, like merch or even a free future season for the runner-up and champion! Tennis League Network has an app (see pictures) that works great and makes submitting scores very quick and easy. They also have tons of other features like finding a court, checking your division's scores, and a "Player of the Year" program to win some rewards based on how many matches you play, how many friends you refer to the league, etc. The owner of the league who I believe created the company and designed the app and everything is also very quick to respond if you have any questions or concerns. There are clear and fair rules listed as well that help keep the league running smoothly. I have played against several players that I ended up becoming friends with outside of just tennis too! Thanks Steve for creating a great league keeping it running.

Whether it be the competitive side, the technical side, or the fitness side you can always find someone that wants to play. My 4 stars is unfortunately due to my most recent season. I feel there could be a more evaluated way to make high or low mid season division adjustments for a player. Before someone is moved down a division (or up), there could be input from recent opponents on the player in questions skill level. Getting first hand experience rather than going purely off stats. Or letting the more skilled player stay in there lower division but they must forfeit their playoffs and championship opportunity. SIDE NOTE: Cost of living is too much and Inflation is too high to be playing for a new can of balls.
