Pretty good for a Hard Rock Cafe! I've definitely been to worse ones. The burger, salad, and fries were all of good quality. And the service was good as well. I was honestly not expecting that. I liked the fact that they didn't skimp on fries. Nothing disappoints me more at restaurants when they give you like 5 fries - they're the cheapest things on the menu! Honestly, I've avoided Hard Rock Cafes just because I find the chain's schtick off putting. But it was a stormy night, we were staying in the Marriott attached to the airport, and Hard Rock won in a coin flip with PF Chang's. Good draft beer selection. Ordered an original legendary burger. Asked how I'd like it cooked, I requested medium, and when it arrived, it was indeed perfectly cooked to medium. The onion ring on top of the meat I pulled right off as my appetizer of sorts. Great start, they make a fabulous onion ring, huge, thick breading that holds to the onion, great flavor and crunch. Heck, I'd be tempted to get a salad there so I could enjoy just a side order of their onion rings for dinner. The burger itself had a pleasant thick cut grind, which was particularly enjoyable. I imagine that's part of what makes their burger unique, and it does elevate it. I chose a side salad as the side. A pile of fries in addition to the huge burger would have been tasty, but way too much for me for dinner. The salad was quite fresh, crisp and cold. Nicely done. The wife got a southwest chicken bowl and was quite happy with it. Good service, overall a surprisingly pleasant and tasty experience. Should be good for kids, but don't see any high chairs visible. Sat at the bar and had a decent chicken Cesar salad. This Hard Rock is in the airport so you know the prices are going to be a little higher. It is a large open space with lots of glass looking out over the runway. Some nice memorabilia, worth a walk around to checkout. I had the onion ring tower to start. It came with ranch and bbq sauce. They were very good. The Mac and cheese chicken was very cheesy. The chicken was tender and had good flavor. My only issue was with the service. The restaurant was not busy, lots of open tables. It took her a long time to come to get the drink order. I ordered the burger, and to my surprise, it was actually really flavorful. Juicy, satisfying -- basically the Beyoncé of airport burgers. We started with the Bangkok spicy shrimp, which were delicious, but let's be honest... Bangkok must've been on airplane mode, because the "spicy" was totally MIA. Like, somewhere between "mild salsa" and "suggestion of flavor." My wife and daughter both got the twisted mac, chicken and cheese, and were in pasta heaven. Twisty noodles, cheesy goodness, and zero complaints -- they were too busy shoveling it in to speak. Shoutout to our waitress, who was fantastic. TPA - Tampa, FL Airport The only Hard Rock Cafe in an American airport and I just happened to find it unexpectedly. Back 40 years ago, I would be planning where to find one, when they were really hard to find. Lol. My travel partner and myself found ourselves with a long wait from our airport arrival to boarding time so grabbing dinner and drinks was something "to do". We saw the HRC coming in, so we just planned to hang out for a while on our way out. I decided on the Legendary burger, done Medium. Everything about this burger was perfection. Flavor was the best I've had in a really long time. Even the bun was great. Even tho the burger was huge, I slowly kept nibbling on it to finish it just because it really was so good. We truly enjoyed the music, just wish we could have seen the videos... that's my only complaint. HRC could use more screens around the restaurant for the videos. For lunch we had two Grilled Chicken Sandwiches and the Tupelo Chicken Tenders. The chicken sandwiches very good with a huge piece of boneless chicken and crispy bacon. Hard Rock has a reputation for good food most of the time so we wanted to try it out while waiting for our flight... The food was good but the service was not unfortunately. Without much help at the time that we came, we understood the delay in service as it played out but...the server became argumentative with one of us when he got the order wrong. He proceeded to say that he couldn't take the order back which led to my friend settling with the wrong order but it turned personal when he didn't return to the table and had someone else serve the group. I frequently visit Tampa for work and I always spend my time at the Hard Rock Cafe before checking in for my flight home. The servers are super friendly and service is always on point. We came here after learning we had a 4 hour delay of our flight (we're not local). Admittedly we were in a TERRIBLE mood. Our server was absolutely amazing! She was cheerful and understanding. We still had about 3 hours to kill after eating and they suggested hanging out on the patio. What a great space! It's HUGE, has a bar, some of it is covered and some in the sun.
