We've been to one before in Virginia Beach it was amazing. This location is just as amazing! It was crowded as to be expected and wait times up to 45 mins or longer. Best thing about that is you can order yourself a mimosa or whatever you'd like to drink whilst you are waiting. Our food was filling and delicious. The food came and it was basically chicken fingers on a waffle, but the batter for the fingers was good and so was the honey syrup sauce on the side. Others at my table had omelettes that they said were great as well as the bourbon street pancakes that have fresh bananas, pecans, rum butter sauce, and whipped cream. Very flavorful! Service was good. Only downfall was they close at 3, we were there at 1:30 and at 2 the staff was cleaning the place for closing. Putting chairs up, sweeping, etc. It made us feel bad like we were holding them up from leaving. To be fair we were 1 of 2 tables, so one can't blame them completely, but in the same sense if you are open until 3, perhaps have shorter hours if you have low business after an earlier time. A brunch there today with my friends and we did the complementary half order of beignets and they were very good. They are not New Orleans beignets. They are a little smaller a little crispy but still had very good flavor. I did the shrimp and grits and added it on the side of the Bourbon Street pancakes just to try them and the grits were so gross so the sauce on the shrimp was perfect. It reminded me of the shrimp and grits from New Orleans and the Bourbon Street pancakes were so good. Service was great the coffee I had the dark roast and it was a very good strong sturdy dark roast. It's Sunday and my boyfriend and I wanted to order breakfast to go around 1:01 and we were told it would be ready at 1:23 so we went up there at the designated time and we were waiting for our food for almost an hour and didn't leave until 2:17pm thankfully with a full refund but most of all our food was disgraceful. The only negative I would say is they don't served shredded hash-browns and the "country potatoes " tasted like they were cooked in old grease and left a bad after taste. Pricing: fair pricing for the food and quantity. Overall I enjoy eating at these spots. I have been to one in Jacksonville, Florida, Nashville and Tampa and they are always good. We made a reservation ahead of time, & they did not ask us for inside and out. I guess I should have been more specific. They set us up outside where it was very cramped and they had a ceiling fan, but they said they don't work, and none of them worked. Then they sat other people right next to us while it was already pretty close as it was. There was 6 of us in our group and they were getting the table filled & those people, they couldn't help it kept hitting our chairs. So definitely not a good set up whatsoever. I ordered a summer special which was a mango tostada. I actually chose this place because of it. Then our server came back and said it was out and that was early morning on a Saturday. You know that feeling when you come for something due to what u see and nope not available. Oh well. So I chose the crab cake Benedict. It was good enough. I met up with my sister for a morning bite and this place was a half way point for both of us so we sat quickly and luckily there was no one except us. Our server was super nice when we had some questions about the menu explained to us what the had seasonally and what there best menu items were because she explained that they were changing the menu soon and opening more bar options drinks as well. We finally figured out what we wanted and ordered our drinks came out and the waiting game began while we waited we were playing games with our kiddos and just chatting maybe 20min go by and we realized that the food wasn't ready we waited another 10 minutes and asked one of the servers if she could get our server to check on our food she came out and assured us that the food will be ready shortly that they were having an issue in the back so of course at this point our youngest we're getting antsy finally after 5 more minutes the food was out. Everything looked good but it all comes down the the taste. The apple fritter French toast was the best thing on the table, the scrambled eggs were fine, the sausage was interesting its not traditional it has a lot of spices and made by hand. The biscuits and gravy were terrible unfortunately it was pure pepper all the way through, and the bacon was cooked perfectly but very salty.
