One of two Hard Rock Cafe locations in Portual, this stop in Lisbon (opened in 2003) was a good place to make a waypoint on our map from the cruise port: we got to pick up a souvenir from a Hard Rock that we hadn't been before and see quite a few sights as we meandered through the streets of Lisbon. We ended up a having a long enjoyable lunch before heading back to the ship. We got there by lunchtime (12:15) and were greeted warmly at the door, being seated immediately. What I really like about Hard Rock Cafes is that each location is different on the inside, but the food is similar and consistently good. We got sat right below an Elton John jumpsuit. Yani was our server, and was mostly attentive throughout. The crowd was diverse, definitely with some tourists like us but also quite a few working locals, taking a break for lunch. We placed our order and the food came soon after. -- BBQ Platter. My wife chose the 2 meat platter (23,95€) with pulled pork and bbq spare ribs. If we were more hungry, would have gotten the 3 meat (including BBQ chicken) for an extra 2€, but we knew we couldn't bring any food back to ship. The pulled pork was excellent, extremely tender and without gristle with the right amount of bbq sauce. The ribs were generous: a half rack, sourced from a good supplier since it was very meaty. -- Southwest Bowl (21,95€) - I've had good luck with this dish in the past, but not this time. Even though it used unusual ingredients (like fava beans and various greens), the mix along with a southwestern ranch dressing didn't really work for me. The chicken breast served on top was solid: large, moist, and filling. It could have easily been a Hard Rock in the states, with one difference being a portual beer (Sagres pint for 6,60). It was very good from a bottle, wish they had a local beer on tap but they told me they had run out. It took a bit of time to get the check, so I had to go up to get it. The 13% tax (23% for alcohol) is included in the price. Learned that tipping in Portugal is not expected, but 10-15% is not unusual for great service. Plus this being mostly an American brand, I think it is expected here. Was able to pay by credit card, though you have to put any gratuities on it first before running it through. read more

I like to collect shirts from Hard Rock when I travel, esp outside the country. We walked there from our hotel. In additional to the shirt, I was redeeming a dine-in birthday credit, so we also came for dinner. We did not have a reservation so we had a long wait. The bar was hectic and a tad disorganized, but when I finally got a bartender's attention, she was quite friendly and competent. When a huge party finally cleared out, we were seated upstairs. I enjoyed the music videos, decor, and food. Also, the server brought a birthday brownie sundae as a treat! It was rather late, but we ate it anyway! Vacation rules. read more

The service was good, a bit slow but it's pretty busy in there so it's understandable. Despite it being busy and the music being loud, the noise level isn't terrible. Good food. We had the Messi chicken sandwich, and although the amount of chicken wasn't as much as the picture, it was still filling. Fries were crispy and hot. Lots of memorabilia here including guitars by Beastie Boys, Slash, Tom Petty, and Tom Morello. However, what spoiled our experience was that our server just disappeared on us half way through our dining. We were forced to ask another server for the check, and he didn't seem that concerned our server was missing. But, when he brought us the check, he asked if we wanted to leave a tip for her--really? I said, "I haven't seen her in the last 20 minutes!" And he says, "it's just a question, sir". Perhaps a question better left unasked in my opinion. The Hard Rock Cafe is pretty much a tourist attraction in its' own right in every city where they have one, I generally try to make it my go-to spot on my first day exploring a new city, as the menu is pretty much the same across each Cafe, and they're generally able to offer a safe and easy gluten-free meal which is ideal if you're looking to grab something quick after a day of travel without dealing with the language barrier. Sadly, this particular cafe was not up to standards, upon entering and leaving the Cafe I was approached by drug dealers offering marijuana and cocaine who were very persistent and harassing, with one particular gentleman showing me a substance he claimed to be cocaine from the zipper of his jeans - I totally get the Cafe can't be responsible for the behaviour of people on the street but they certainly should invest in a security guard as it makes the area outside the Cafe feel gross and unsafe. The interior is pretty cool and reminds me of any other Hard Rock Cafe, they were showing a live Champions League game at the bar, but this was hard to see from the restaurant area, it would have been nice if the TVs had shown the music videos also shown the game. My server seemed friendly enough as he introduced himself and told me about his background being from Brazil, but he didn't seem to reciprocate listening to me, I had to remind him about my allergy more than once, and he didn't seem to be in the slightest interested in me replying to him. I ordered the BBQ Smokehouse Plate with chicken and pulled pork for my food. My food did not have the usual Hard Rock Cafe allergen flag, and neither did my guest who also told the server she was gluten-free so that I could try some of her salmon. As with any Hard Rock Cafe, the food and drink were a little pricey, especially considering the alternatives in the city, but again this seems to be the standard for themed restaurants and HRC worldwide. I also ordered a Long Island Iced Tea cocktail, with my own collectable glass to take home, I did find the drink to taste very bitter and wasn't up to the usual standards at other locations. For my collectable glass, I was forced to take the Hurricane glass as they did not have the others in stock including the pint glass which I asked for. I would have appreciated being warned that they only had the Hurricane glass at the time of ordering, as I only found out after paying for my meal and going to collect the glass from the Shop. I wasn't too pleased with the food either, I found the meat to be overdone and was quite chewy, sure the BBQ sauce was nice but the chicken had become chewy and dried out so weren't pleasant at all, and the fries were bog standard and were certainly enjoyable with mayonnaise. My friend also mentioned her disappointment in the salmon she ordered, not being cooked as well in the middle as the edges. I'm struggling to find anything good to say about my experience unfortunately, from the moment I entered being harassed by drug dealers to disappointing food and drink at a premium price with a server who didn't seem interested in the slightest. This is a typical Hard Rock with the great branded store area in the front and awesome music and music videos playing. It seemed a little smaller than some I've been to but it was clean and the staff was friendly and spoke English. The memorabilia on the walls (and ceiling) was fun to look at. We split a burger because it wasn't really a meal time and that was the perfect amount of food. Love the fries! Great selection of beer and drinks and it was a nice place to get out of the rain and relax for a minute. My dad collects Hard Rock pins, and so whenever my brother & I travel to a new city, we always hit up the local Hard Rock, to get him a little something to add to his collection. I also like the Yelp Check-In offers at Hard Rock... unfortunately, none were available for this location :-( This Hard Rock store & restaurant is located in a gorgeous Art Deco building and in a good location. However the gorgeous of the outside didn't match the interior for me, especially as I found the store to be super cramped. The loos were located downstairs and also weren't the greatest with tight space. Also, there was no line or order to pay for purchase and I kept getting cut by some pushy people - I think they should get a ticket system to make it work better. The memorabilia contained this pedestrian army green tank-top from Shakira and I saw the accompanying photo had her jazzed up with a sparkly external bralette which wasn't included in this display - frankly very boring! You really cannot go wrong if you are looking for a casual, quick dining option and a Hard Rock Cafe is around the corner. My small group was looking for two things, 1) somewhere out of the rain and 2) drinks to ride out the rain. We spotted a Hard Rock Cafe and ushered ourselves in during the lunch hour. They had seating available - there is upstairs and downstairs seating, it is a larger space. The Hard Rock Cafe in Lisbon offers the standard American styled burger along with similar American style cuisine. The staff were friendly and energetic and quick to offer suggestions. Overall, a good experience and great lunch stop, or rain stop if you're in need of some quick shelter. read more

The people here are extremely friendly and accommodating, and will go out of their way to take care of you and spend time chatting with you. Why oh why do I always get sucked into going to a Hard Rock Cafe! They came out when I was young and there was such an appeal to going to the one in NYC or to see friends wearing the T-shirts of the HRC's that they had been to in other cities but with so many authentic and inexpensive dining options all over Lisbon there is really no reason to come here. Everything is overpriced for what it is. I had a small glass of sangria that I finished in about two minutes as most of the glass was ice cubes. There are not affordable tapas on the menu so if you step foot in there and have two drinks and share an app you are looking at close to a $50 euro bill. If they gave you even a free magnet at least you would feel that you had something to show for your money but no - - all of that is in the gift shop - which is also overpriced. I checked this off my list as yet another HRC that I have been to and been disappointed in. There wasn't anything particularly wrong about this location or the service we received - - so this isn't personalized to the Lisbon location I just think in any city there are better options than this tourist trap. read more

Nachos were cold and not very appealing in appearance or flavor. Our actual waiter was nonexistent, but the server for our food was very cool!!! My first time at hard rock. Lovely food and even more amazing service. You could feel the staff's good mood and their courtesy infected the whole room. We started out with the very big starter and it was awesome. There were four different kinds of dip each tasted amazing. We both ordered a burger afterwards and there was nothing to put a finger on. Finding a place to eat in Lisbon that didn't look weird or was closed at midday seemed to be a mission for us. Maybe not knowing the city did help, but we wanted to try some traditional Portuguese food and ended in Hard Rock Café as it was open and the employees seemed nice enough to welcome tourist. Hard Rock is pretty much the same all over the world. Overpriced, but the food is good and the portions are big enough to share, so grab a couple of starters and one main and you are done! Had a great experience here! There was a little bit of a wait but it wasn't too bad considering how crowded it was. Our server (I think her name was Pipa) was SO friendly and great. We started with the chicken tenders and nachos as an appetizer; both great! Then I got the local legendary burger. I don't remember everything that was on it, but it had a fried egg, which was so good! It was so much food that I couldn't finish it all but it was worth it. It's hard to believe with all the HRC's I've been to around the world, this seems to be the first one I've actually reviewed. I've seen them all over the US, including Hawaii and then abroad I've been to Madrid, Paris, Barcelona and now Lisboa. I haven't eaten at every single one of them, but I have t-shirts from all of them We decided to stay and grab a bite to eat. We were taken upstairs to a booth and quickly greeted by our waitress. We weren't super hungry so we didn't each want to order something. Having learned from our stop at the JAX airport, we went with the Jumbo Combo and had a little bit of everything: wings, southwest egg rolls, onion rings, chicken tenders, and potato skins. I had a beer & the hubby had a glass of wine. The menus - regardless of what country you are in - are pretty standard across the whole collection. Ugh - I actually have to give out three stars to Hard Rock. During my time in Lisboa I was going out of my way to avoid American chains, and this was the only time I succumbed. A large portion of my fellow study abroad students were going there, so I decided to bite the bullet and go. It is the exact same as a Hard Rock in the US - a lot of extremely loud 80s music videos, fake enthusiasm from staff, and curiously a TON of Asian tourists taking pictures with the souvenirs. I gave HRC 3 stars because it was the only place in Portugal I had chicken fingers, my all time favorite food. And to be fair, the chicken fingers were really, really, really good. Obviously hand breaded in panko, I have to admit they hit the spot. After that, it was pretty crappy. One great thing about Lisboa is that a lot of the mom and pop places (and even the bigger, more 'corporate' ones) are very affordable, especially with the current exchange rate. HRC is not one of these places - most menu drinks were 10-12 euros and didn't look good. I stuck with Sagres Bohemia. Our server was a very friendly Australian guy and he did a great job. If you really feel the need to have American comfort food in Portugal, go for it. read more

I'm a Rock & Roll fan so always stop in the see the memorabilia as well as to chat with the bartenders who usually provide good suggestions about things to do while I enjoy a draft beer at the bar. Tonight we sat at the bar with leftover drinks from previous customers in front of us. I said Hi to the 2 women bartending and they said hi back, but did not bother to clean the bar. About 5 minutes later I asked if it was possible for me to get a draft beer and I was told "of course, but I'm a little busy now" Really?????? Is this not your job? So I decided to go to the rest room and look at all the memorabilia fully expecting that in those 15 minutes my beer would have been poured. But I was wrong. She was very friendly, and at the same time very skilled at making the drinks at the bar to please the patrons. She had all the skills that you would expect a bartender to have, such as engaging in a great conversation right away and surprising with some interesting drink choices. So two parts of this review. I walk in and no one at the door so I continue into seating area and ask if I could get a table to sit at. Rude lady says to ask the lady at the door and when I said no one was there she gave me a nasty look and says there is now. Anyway, I say screw it and see that seats at the bar open up and sit down. The gents at the bar were nice and served me some drinks and made a recommendation on steak which I chose and was very good. I also got some bread and asked for butter and told they don't have any. I asked about the butter that was on my steak and got a very small amount. So, a little odd, but the food was good and so was the service at the bar. read more

I had the Country burger and my wife had the triple cheese burger. Unfortunately we were disappointed but first the good. I have a gluten allergy and I was able to get a gluten free bun and fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly, just some pink in the middle. But burgers cooked like that should be juicy and these were not. Maybe not enough fat in the Patties? And the fries were a bit mushy. This is definitely one of the better Hard Rock Cafe's. Our waitress Sara has been outstandingly nice and has done everything to make us feel welcome. Our Appetizer the Tupelo Chicken Tenders have been delicious. So were both our Entrees the Chicken Cheeseburger as well as the Local Legendary (comes with extra Cheese, Portuguese Ham and a Sunny Side Up Egg). If you get to sit upstairs I suggest you do so because it is way more relaxed there. The Rock Shop was overcrowded but this due to the Shop being really small. All in all it is always nice to come back here and I'm sure I'll be back soon. Rock On! read more

Being spoiled by the HRC Prague, I found this place small and uneventful. The store is really tiny and the offer is very basic. The prices of the meals are expensive compared to what you can get in Lisbon restaurants. I guess you can skip this place unless you're a HRC fanatic. read more

We jumped off the Olisipo Yellow Bus Tour and low and behold there was a Hard Rock. I was craving a Diet Coke so we went in. It was almost 90 degrees and we were in the upper level of the yellow bus deck...I was thirsty. Then the most incredible thing happened...we met Pipa. One of the most engaging servers I have ever encountered...ever! Believe me I travel A LOT and eat out almost every meal. Anyways...Hard Rock is great for its cool tunes, American shit food and always a great atmosphere...BUT when you're in Lisbon and come across this place you must ask for PIPA...let me spell that for you...P - I - P - A.
