Love the rustic charm of the place , the old tables and it just felt like old Wales should and not one of the plastic and designer fish and chippys like the Fishermans chip shop. The only thing that let it down was the toilets , no soap in the dispenser and water or urine all over the floor; unfortunately some people/customers are clearly disgusting and have no manners but the staff should regularly check the toilets like any food place. Also the salt cellars all had that moisture ingress that always happens when you leave it out in the moist air so nothing would come out of the spout so we had to manually howk it out with a knife and a dish with Tartare sauce would have been a nice addition to the condiments but you cant have everything at this price which was also very reasonable! This is the best chippy in Conwy without a doubt if you want true Welsh flavour and authenticity and dont want to sit in an antiseptic and clinical environment, very friendly indeed and the fish was tasty and chips were done well - Only loses a point for the toilets and the condiments and for slipping on the stairs as I came out from the toilets and nearly did myself a mischief!

They also have a full dining upstairs. They serve the same food. On a sunny afternoon like the day I visited, I took the food by the water where they have plenty of picnic tables available. I must say they make deep fried cod and potato pretty well. I was told to order with vinegar and salt and they were right. Vinegar and salt enhanced deep fries. Service was friendly and price is just right. Still reasonable in this high inflation time. Regular order size is plenty big. I thought I couldn't finish my lunch. They didn't offer any napkins and I don't know how people clean their hands after eating greasy food by hand. Overall it was a good experience.

When you put a sign up like that and a Fish N' Chips world taster is in the area you better have something out of this world for me to try. The best Fish N' Chips North of London hands down and it rivals my favorite Fish N' Chips at the Sheraton Heathrow as the best I've ever had. One word to describe their white cod fish is clean. It's succulent, fresh, and melts in your mouth after the initial clean crunch. What makes this Fish N' Chips great is there isn't much added except for the basic natural ingredients, it's the way it's handled and prepared that makes it stand out. This alone will warrant a trip back to Conwy. One side note is that it's priced to be enjoyed by all not just those with heavy pounds in their pocket.

We strolled on over and were seated right away. I believe we only saw a small portion of the dining area and not the whole restaurant. We were seated in a very cozy area that looked like it had once been a living room. There was a big stone fireplace with a wood stove in it, and a couple small tables with seating around them. There was also a bar in the area where we ate, which was handy since we both enjoyed drinks with our meal. For our entrees, I went with the cottage pie, and my wife selected the Creamy Chicken, Mushroom, and Tarragon pie. Both were absolutely fantastic. Every single bite was full of flavor and delicious. The staff there were friendly and engaged us in friendly conversation. The restroom was clean and well maintained. I'm thankful for the recommendation we received to eat here, and I would absolutely pass on the recommendation to anyone else who's in the area. After exploring the beautiful Castle Conwy, you should definitely check out the Erskine Arms for a hearty meal.

The restaurant attracts a lot of Families who come to use the Brewster Bear Play area and it also serves great value kids meals. Brewsters often run promotions on their meals e.g. Two main courses for £9 so you can always get a good bargain at the Afon Conwy. However the food itself is standard pub grub, mostly frozen then microwaved or fried - so its not the place if your after a Gourmet meal. However its recommended just for the fact that is Good Value, Child Friendly and offers a quick service - you kknow what to expect from Brewsters and Afon Conwy is no different.

It's located just off junction 19 of the A55, next to a Premier Inn and across the road from a petrol station but otherwise in the middle of nowhere so it's the sort of place you have to make the effort to visit. Being a Brewster's the food is obviously mass produced and re-heated to order. Nice as it is to have freshly prepared meals there are a couple of advantages to this. For one thing you know exactly what you're going to get, you don't have to worry that the chef is having an off day or a day off. It also means that the food is served very quickly. It's maybe not the best place for a romantic dinner but if you're after speed and convenience it's a better option than the MacDonalds one junction down the A55. On a recent visit my wife and I opted to take advantage of the two for a tenner option, which includes a varied range of meals so there should be something to appeal to everyone. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and the missus went for the Chicken and Bacon salad. The generous portion of chicken tikka was very tasty to be fair and came with rice, naan bread, a couple of poppadoms and a pot of mango chutney. The salad was huge with plenty of chicken and bacon and went down a treat. There was a 2 for 2 quid pudding option but we passed on that as the main meals were filling enough. We've also recently finally got around to trying one of the evening all you can eat buffets. There's a different theme each weekday including Chinese, Pie Night, Tex-Mex, Indian and the one we tried which was Fish and Chip night. You help yourself to whatever you want from a selection of chips, fish, fishcakes, battered sausage, chicken, meat pie, peas, mushy peas, curry sauce and gravy and once you've got your plate you go back for more as many times as you can. The quality was surprisingly good for the price, the chicken in particular had plenty of meat on it, so we're now looking forward to trying a different night to see how that compares. On all our visits the service has been friendly and efficient and we've always had someone ask if we enjoyed our meals which isn't something you always get in other places.
