Stopped in here on my way to Tampa to visit my cousin and his family. Found this place on Yelp, pics looked good and the view looked amazing. Of course today it was raining cats and dogs, but none the less a good view. Everything on the menu sounded so goo, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to try. Our waitress was GREAT (Jenny) and very patient. I made alot of changes to my item to get it customized to what I wanted. She asked the cool and behold I feast for me. I had the seafood steam platter but i stead of scallops I got fried oysters and mahimahi instead of cod. I was knocked off my feet by the crabcake (but I never am), friend oysters were good, and though not heavily breaded still seemed like too much breading. Stopped here after a trip to Legoland. We arrived right at 5 and there was already a 30 minute wait (even though we called 10 earlier on our way and there was no wait). Came on Grouper Thursday where anything with grouper was discounted. Hubs had a grouper sandwich, I had the grilled chicken breasts. He loved his, mine was good. Very nice location on the water, but we were easily the youngest people here (and the only ones with a child). Wasn't a bad thing, but just a little awkward. I look forward to the pan fried grouper sandwich whenever I visit the area. The service has always been good & impressed me when there with my mom with her walker & difficulties hearing. Eating here was a delightful experience. Our first visit, first impressions were very positive. Our waitress, Lexus T, answered our questions about the menu and kept a close eye on us. She appeared at just the right time between courses to make our dining very pleasant. Lovely view from our window booth. The food was, well yummy. Great house salad, green olives add a nice punch to the flavor. Warm crusty bread accompanied the salad. Fresh fish special was Wahoo. Nice flavor grilled and seasoned. Everything is always good there, except the onion rings. They are hard and definitely come from a frozen box...come on you guys, it's cheaper and better to cut them fresh and dip them yourself. First impressions are so important! Unfortunately this First Impression will also be a Last Impression. The restaurant was NOT busy so there was really no excuse for these mistakes. 1st waitress was HORRIBLE! Just had an overall attitude. Slow getting drinks out. Took one drink back to refill and forgot to return it. When asked the reply was "Oh you didn't get it?" At which point she brought over a new waitress and said "She will take care of you now". She traded tables. We were not rude or disrespectful during her snappy remarks and just overall unpleasantness. Food was over priced & poorly prepared. Some meals were actually luke warm/cold. One side of veggies was cold and not cooked. Alfredo was so oily, it was returned and sometime else ordered. The stuffed flounder was average. The Ribeye was very good. We were really looking forward to finally trying the "New" Harborside. What a disappointment! Overall there is one star for the salad & one for the 2nd waitress. read more

Went here for date night. Arrived right before sunset and sat at the bar while we waited for a table. I've been on a pineapple kick so I ordered the Lime in the Coconut drink which was really good. Also got an order of shrimp cocktail which was very tasty. Chatted with the owner for a bit. Super friendly. Ordered the filet between medium and medium rare based on their guidelines and baked potato. I like my steak pink in the middle but medium rare said red and medium said brown. As long as it isn't over cooked I can be flexible but I think they put it in the same time as my husband's cowboy ribeye medium because it was cold and very definitely red. Not only that, but it was stringy. Like it had been frozen or something. I have never ever had a stringy fillet. I didn't want to complain but when they came back my husband told them it was cold so they took it and put it back on the grill. Came back the same. Not happy. Baked potato was hot and pillowy inside. Just really not a good steak. read more

I have found Harborside both good and bad. The bad is slow service. I've been during non-peak and peak times and service is the same. Slow. The servers were very pleasant but the meal took a LONG time. Order drinks...wait. Get an appetizer....wait. Your meals? Longer wait. I haven't lost the premise of enjoying a good,long slow meal shared with friends and conversation, but we came because we are hungry and a one plus hour wait for an entree seems excessive . They could have sold more bar drinks too had they checked in to our table more than just delivering food. Be prepared to pay upscale prices for good food. (not great, not stellar, just good) When spending the extra money, I would like a little more "Wow"...something that would make it really special. And the view is special, but what else is? The place is clean and the setting is beautiful. Also, there is a ton of room for parking which is great. When it's busy, be prepared to wait. They give you a pager which is also good. This is a destination to show off how pretty Florida is and they do a good job showcasing that. read more

After a long work week my husband and I wanted to have a nice dine in dinner but stay local. We decided on Harborside, they were pretty busy being that it was Friday night but we decided to wait it out. I'm so glad we did, our waitress Sibol was extremely pleasant & patient. The kitchen got a little backed up but instead of ignoring us she kept us informed & our glasses full. For me it's the small things that push hospitality services above average & Sibol was definitely did just that. If your new to the area or local and looking for a great food, excellent service in a wonderful relaxed atmosphere on the lake stop by Harborside in Winter Haven you won't be disappointed. This is our first time here, it was a wonderful experience! Robert was our server, he was always smiling and was on top of everything. Jessica is the Manager there and was attentive and personable, I like her. My husband ordered crab cake it was uncommonly good! He tried the lobster roll with fries, delicious! I usually don't like to do bad reviews but yesterday was horrible specially because we were celebrating my sisters birthday, I usually like to read reviews before I go out and take all my family out. We heard nothing but good things and we were expecting an excellent dinner. We were seated on time at 5pm, our reservation was at 5, so it started great. But we started having a bad time when we had to wait over an hour for our food to come out. Dinner for our 5 kids come out on time but we couldn't enjoy our dinner because by the time the rest of our meals came out, it was super late, all the plates were cold, my parents and husbands steak was dry and the kids were impatient because they had to wait for us to eat. The worse part was that after we voiced our disappointment, the manager said "well, we try to pull out all plates as soon as it gets cooked so that they get to the table hot." Implying that we were lying about our food being cold. We hate making a big deal and avoid complaining, so when we voiced that our dinner was cold and super late we would of loved a little better attention from the manager. Must add that we were all very disappointed specially when our check came out, we feel that we definitely over paid for a cold meal. We vacation several times a year in the area harborside was always One of my favorite spots. We loved the onion rings and lobster Alfredo dish. We went in June 2020 and the food was not good and service was not the best, we figured it was pandemic problems so let's take a little break. Today we head back with my in laws who have never been to the area and we are trying to show them all the great spots we have come to love in the area. Well that was a mistake. The menu is much different. Chicken parm the chicken was over processed and pasta was over cooked. Steak was okay. But for $41 you could go many other better places in the area and get a more tender flavorful steak. Service was slow. I mean extremely slow. I was a bar tender and server for many years and know exactly what someone can handle I was disappointed. I rarely leave less than 25% and I absolutely did. I feel guilty about it but honestly nobody asked how I like my meal, if I needed anything drinks were slow it was bad. I made a comment when the food runner dropped off the food how bad my dish looked and nothing she just walked alway. Overall extremely disappointed and don't think I'll be back. 2 stars was given because the ambience of this restaurant can not be beat. Unfortunately, the food continues to decline and I am embarrassed that I took my in laws to a place and was disappointing. If you have been to harborside in the past just don't have high expectations just expect a Chili's with a better ambience. read more

First of all they brought me the wrong seafood platter Had no scallops on platter which menu stated it had The platter had 2 types fried fish and 2 oysters which waitress argued was scallops Lol So she brought another platter had 3 scallops on them However when I bit into scallop it was raw About puked and could not eat rest of food. Previously we would have gave it a 5 star review. We have been coming to Harborside via boat for several (4) years now and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and service. We especially enjoy sitting downstairs for our weekly Saturday afternoon lunch and are disappointed to hear it has recently been changed to non-smoking. I'm not a smoker and have never been adversely impacted by those who do smoke. We feel there is ample ventilation and space in this area to accommodate both smokers & no -smokers. We hope Ownerships/Management reassess their new policy to accommodate everyone. Additionally I would like to ask that more vegetable side options be added to your lunch menu. I'm a huge fan of steamed veggies with my Fish Tacos. The past few lunch outings have not been complete due to only have the new seasonal option of succitash. I was informed it would be the veggie option for 3 months - disappointing. read more

Our first visit to Harborside we're very pleased with the service of the staff. The restaurant is clean with the great atmosphere. Our server was named Gabrielle,she had a big friendly smile informed us of the house specials & and also suggested some appetizers. We ordered the lobster bites which the presentation was beautiful and appealing. The lobster meat is battered then fried and presented in a lobster tail. We ordered the potato skins which were delicious. My wife ordered the bone in ribeye I ordered the seafood sampler which includes giant scallops ,jumbo shrimp and two big pieces of fish. Worst dinning experience ever! Started with coffee, no cream, no sugar and by the time they brought that the coffee was ice cold. Appetizers were served with out any silverware to even eat. By the time we got that the appetizer was ice cold. The treatment was so bad from the waiter we just took our food to go. I will never go back to this place again. We sat in an outside smoking area. As soon as we lit a Cigarette they turned the fan on so it would blow right on us. We asked for the fan to be turned off and they told us flat out no. Why would you even offer a smoking area if your going to treat your guest so poorly. If I could give 0 stars I would. I would review the food however it was such a poor dinning experience we lost our appetite and the food was wasted. read more
