We came here on a Friday night and my party of six was able to be seated right away much to my delight. The food here was absolutely amazing and the views were stunning. The bread and butter that came at the start of our meal was quite delicious. We had the lobster bites as the appetizer and everyone remarked about how yummy they were. I also had the peanut butter cup caramel martini and it was delicious. My entree was baked shrimp and scallops dish with a baked potato and it was some kind of good! I also had the harborside salad and really enjoyed the I believe garlic oregano dressing! The only person that wasn't pleased with their meal was my sister, but that was because I think she just didn't realize she didn't care for flounder. The service was OK as it took quite some time to get her to come to our table at times or to clear dirty plates, but she was kind, just could've been more attentive. A few people in my party also remarked that they felt the water that was served had a funny aftertaste which I didn't actually taste myself until the second glass. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to return. This place even came recommended by our Airbnb host which I didn't realize until after the fact. After being seated it was nearly 10 minutes before a server arrived. We placed our order and over 5 minutes before bread was delivered. However we had to flag someone down to request silverware. We then waited for over 30 minutes and had to chase down a server and asked about the meal. She said the people in the next booth were also waiting. We waited another ten minutes and finally got up and left. Not once did our server even bother to check on us. Very disappointed considering our earlier visits. great place for a lazy lunch by the lake started with oysters and some clam chowder with hush puppies. very unique flavors. the bloody mary and local draw were top level as well! the coconut shrimp are so lightly breaded it really lets the flavor come thruand they let my picky self combine a couple of things for my salad. Can't wait to try the keylime pie! Marcos was great at answering all of our questions as it was our first visit and the seafood stuffed potato skins looked amazing too. We sat at the bar and ordered from the lunch menu. My wife enjoyed a generous piece of salmon with Bay's slaw while I attempted to finish the ahi tuna salad. It was enormous and I failed. But I savored every bite I could manage. My wife left room for key lime pie and said it was perfect. The restaurant was slammed but it was a pleasure watching the professional waitstaff cope while maintaining a friendly manner. Prices are reasonable and the service is top notch. The view out the windows to the lake is pretty. My only complaint, and it's a small one is the noise level. The place was full and there is nothing in the building to dampen the sound. read more

For starters ordered the lobster bites and OMG , a must try . Not only is the presentation awesome but the bites are and explosion of goodness . The Ahi tuna was fresh and seared to perfection. My husband had Marilyn crab dinner. The crab cake was full of crab but could have been larger for the price- this is the reason it was a 4 and not 5. On a recent visit to Winter Haven, we came upon this restaurant in what appeared to us out of towners to be an out-of-the-way location. The restaurant sits on a beautiful harbor with an expansive private parking and from our table we were able to watch the sunset. The interior is spacious and clean. Service was excellent, and the food was wonderful. The appetizer of calamari with peppers was a nice combination and complemented each other well. The lobster and salmon was done well but the bacon topping on the potato tasted like the bagged bacon bits from the grocery store. Finally, the shrimp trio was above average with the only drawback being that the fried shrimp was a touch overcooked. Overall, worth another visit. read more

Stopped by here for a dinner on a weeknight. It was relatively busy and people were out enjoying the lake the restaurant sits by. The outside looks dated and dingy but the inside is very nicely appointed. There is a cabinet with their fresh seafood and an open kitchen and a bar. Bread service is provided. Having been to Harborside many times over the past few years, we grew fond of the place. It was a popular place that had an upscale feel to it, they had my favorite beer, we enjoyed the signature salad (made and served at our table), the seafood seemed fresh, and we enjoyed the fresh Italian seasoned bread that accompanied the meal. That said, Harborside was purchased by Tim Kirby in May 2023 as the new owner. On Facebook there is a bio that introduces his new team, however, since their takeover, several disappointing changes have been made. The team has been consistently missing the mark ... First, they stopped selling my favorite beer (Space Dust - an IPA). They stopped making and serving the Harborside Salad at the table, and when we went there this past weekend, the waitress stated they removed sliced olives from the Harborside Salad. Trying to save a fee bucks? Moreover, rather than including the salad in the price of the meal, they now charge an extra fee for it - trying to make an extra few bucks? Rather than serving the tasty Italian loaves of fresh made bread, they now serve a flavorless dark bread, one I believe I have seen sold on Publix shelves. Lastly, the meals served to us that evening were not warm enough and the shrimp had an odd flavor. Finally, each time I have been to Harborside since Mr. Kirby took over, we have noticed changes to the staff. Most of the folks who worked there before Mr. Kirby's takeover are no longer visible, and when I have shared my disappointment about the changes noted above, the waitresses have stated that they have heard similar complaints from other customers. Indeed, they have encouraged me to write this review as a passive protest to Mr. Kirby's changes. In addition, the last few times we have been to Harborside, the upscale feel to the place has noticeably disappeared, and the staff stands idly by chatting among themselves rather than promptly serving their tables. It is far less busy than I recall it being, the clientele seems more like that of a Golden Corral, the bathroom seemed unclean, and, sadly, we have crossed Harborside off our list of go to places. Fortunately, a new Millers Ale House location has opened up in Davenport, and all of their meals exceed the declining quality we have been getting at Harborside. One less reason to make the drive up 27 to Harborside. That said, for those who didn't know the pre-Kirby Harborside, enjoy your meal, until additional changes are made. read more

A few weeks ago I came in and ordered the clam chowder now I've order this before even though it's not the best clam chowder it's decent enough well when I received my soup I found a finger nail in my soup the manager came by a gentleman maybe in his 30s and made things right I understand things happen so I decided not to write a review so on mother's Day I decided to give them another try as the view is what makes this restaurant definitely not the food well when me and my mother got there we asked for bread after receiving the bread I seen 2 small German cockroaches climbing out of my bread and didn't get a chance to snap a pic after no server came by for awhile I seen a manager and she was very rude and said "I don't see any roaches anywhere " so that's when I walked out I'm not sure what's going on with this place but after years of going here this place has went down hill !! read more

We ate here 6+ years ago and couldn't wait to try it again. We don't live in Florida but visited from another state. Great views of the water and friendly servers. We were here for lunch, so no drinks. We split a huge fish sandwich and a side salad. Portions were generous and the panko breading on the fish was delicious. Light, not overpowering. The salad had shredded mozzarella, olives, mixed greens and came with the house lemon balsamic dressing. Very good. We highly recommend this place that's a staple of Winter Haven restaurants. Hi fellow Google maps fans. We took a little detour on our way from Orlando to Port Charlotte via US 27 South. Harborside was an excellent find. It's about a 12 mile detour but Absolutely worth it! The restaurant is located on waterfront and it is a very tranquil location. Anywhere you are seated will provide a great water view. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. We're on vacation so we had oysters from Massachusetts and West Virginia. The Bread they serve is amazing a little garlic and Parmesan and warm. We had the Ahi tuna, lobster bites, pork pot stickers and chicken satay for appetizers. They were all delicious. Seriously, delicious. . Most of our family had steak the kids had the sirloin, which to my horror they ordered cooked medium well ... Who does that? Mine was the cowboy ribeye and it was the Best steak I have had for a while. The cook and flavor was beyond compare. Hannah was our server and she was sweet and attentive. We took a long back roads drive today to purposefully get lost and see something new. We stumbled across this waterfront restaurant that served the BIGGEST fish sandwich I've ever had, with smoked bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. Delish! And it wouldn't be Florida without Gator Bites. My husband and I both agree that they were best we've had to date. Their lunch menu, that we just missed, looked really good, and a happy hour that starts at 3pm. We sat inside because it was blazing hot out, but they have an outdoor, covered and screened in area. If your cruising through the Chain of Lakes and want a bite and refreshing drink, you can dock your boat or jet skis at their pier. There's a small sandy beach, perfect for the kiddies, but there's also a sign that warns not to feed the alligators...so I'd keep an eye out. Great find. After having a great day paddle boarding with friends on the lake, we grabbed lunch here at harbor side right on the lake. It was fairly busy for being middle of the day on a weekday, but luckily we had a reservation. The service was good. We would've ordered another round of drinks but we were never asked when she took our empty cups. It's a nice, clean restaurant with a nice view. I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and it was good. The sauce was perfection, however the chicken was on the bland and dry side. But the pasta and sauce was great. Service overall was good, the view was nice and the prices were reasonable. Also, the free bread is delicious... Overall I'm sure I will be back.
