First things first, Cynthia is an amazing person and it was such a pleasure to meet her. Because of her this place definitely deserves 5 stars! Next, can we talk about how freaking delicious the butter for the new bread basket is?! Like yes the bread changed but who cares because that butter was the winner of the entire meal. I just kept eating it and even added it to my steak. I love the changed and willing to embrace the new trend. The removed a lot of things in the menu, but that's ok because it's new owner. I am sad the mussels are gone (please bring new dish with them back!). Ordered the strip and it was seasoned and cooked well. The herb rice is a healthy and interesting taste. I enjoyed the veggie melody a lot. The table also had the burger which was seasoned well also. We also had a ribeye that was delicious too. The zip sauce was a nice choice for them also. I order a non-alcoholic mocktail and that won me over. I love when I can go out and have a nice drink that's nonalcoholic. I order "From Quam with Love". It had like blood orange and OMG so good! All the waitstaff were amazing and our waiter (forgot his name) was cool as heck. Very helpful and very honest. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND It has been a while since I ate at Harbor Steak House. My friend recommended we meet there for dinner and I immediately said "No." I am SO glad she convinced me to give it a try! We had a delightful meal in an inhurried visit. The atmosphere and food have dramatically improved in the time I moved out of state. [My friend said they changed hands.] I chuckled as I read the menu but the food was wonderful. I had a steak and my meal was prepared perfectly and the prices were very reasonable! Ambiance was old school comfortable. Nothing fancy but nice. Service was good. Expected glorified bar food. It wasn't. The food was surprisingly good. The first thing we had was the tomato soup. It knocked our socks off. For the gluten free people everything is thickened with corn starch. So all soups are a go. Cesar had strong taste of anchovies, which I really like and the croutons were obviously house made. The halibut was very good, the street corn and Brussel sprouts were exceptional. In fact the sprouts were the best I've had and I've had a lot. All in all, I'll be back very soon. read more

Excellent. A true turnaround. Over the years, this neighborhood icon had declined and I had basically written it off. I still occasionally enjoyed the clam chowder (that was previously only offered at this seafood place on Fridays), but had long ago stopped bringing guests here. The atmosphere was dated, the menu was uninspired, and the food quality was mediocre at best. It was definitely in need of a Kitchen Nightmares sort of intervention. I visited it last night after noticing new signage and a busier parking lot and I am glad I gave it another chance. It certainly earned it. If you haven't been here recently, give it a try. The atmosphere is vastly improved and appropriately updated while still managing to retain its soul as a quaint and relaxed village restaurant specializing in steaks and seafood. The menu is new and more interesting than before and the food quality is remarkably better than it has been in many years. The clam chowder is still good and, while the bread has changed, the balsamic vinegar infused butter was surprisingly delicious. The service was never a problem here, but morale seems to have improved, nonetheless. It is a reasonable and appropriate place to bring guests to again. read more

We came here on a date night and had a great evening. We shared everything and got the following: Brussel sprouts (amazing!), tenderloin tips, side salad, chicken piccata and the carrot cake. You have to get the carrot cake even if you have to take it home. It's fresh, moist, and the icing is perfect. Everything was really good and we finished everything but the carrot cake. The only thing I didn't care for was the citrus vinaigrette that we got with the salad. It was too oily. You have to try the house made butter that comes with the bread. It's very tasty! The ambience was pleasant and it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed our service with Josh as well. He was friendly and attentive. We will be back soon. read more

9/9/2015 my husband brought me to my favorite neighborhood steak house, Harbor Steak House. I can't say enough about this place as this is my second review. The new owners are so nice and very pleasant to visit. They often stop by the tables to visit with their guest to make sure everything is perfect and for us it always has been. The ambiance is cozy, welcoming with a nice fireplace to dine by on those cool crisp nights. The food has ALWAYS been spot on for us and hopefully you too should you stop in. There is outside seating for those nice evenings and the bar area seems to be fun too by listening to all the laughter. I've posted pics on my first review and only tonight's dinner and margarita for this review. The best thing about HS is we walk here as it's in our neighborhood along with other walkable shops and restaurants. Nothing fancy about KH but the restaurants are locally owned and super friendly as are the local shops. Every visit has been consistent: the restaurant is clean, the food is excellent, and the owners/staff have always been professional and welcoming. The atmosphere is solid, service is on point, and it's been a great experience every time. What was posted above reads like someone using Yelp as a weapon, not someone giving legitimate customer feedback. I'm so glad I gave Harbor Steak House a shot because the whole experience was honestly fantastic. I was looking for a solid meal and the Prime Rib absolutely delivered--it was seasoned perfectly, super juicy, and cooked exactly how I like it. It's easily one of the best I've had in the area. You also can't go wrong with their sourdough bread; that balsamic butter is seriously addictive. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere with great staff members at the reception and serving the tables. The owner goes around the tables to greet, and we live that. I must say I hadn't dined at Harbar steakhouse for quite a while, but decided to try it out after I heard it was under new ownership. First off the ambience was very pleasant with nice lighting and I love the long bar. I'm a clam chowder junkie and had to try that and I have to say it was flavorful and robust. For the main course, I ordered the seafood linguine and it was perfectly balanced with lots of seafood and a tasty white sauce. The portions were plentiful and I 100% will be returning in the near future... I also like that they have extended happy hour. Kudos to Michael and Cynthia for Keego Harbor gem. read more

Service was impeccable , immediately greeted and seated. The interior was old school steak house seafood vibe. Local establishment that's been around for years. I've passed it thousands of times but decided to try it out tonight. Steak was cooked to order, nothing fancy. Hard to mess up a steak and loaded baked potato. Calamari was decent, I've had better. Kinda fried too hard or overcooked for you chefs...LoL. The steak was grilled and seasoned well. The salad was a salad. No thrills there....LoL. Apparently the ribeye is popular but it was sold out for the evening. I prefer a good porterhouse but they don't offer it. The pricing was fair. It wasn't that busy because it was 2 hours before closing I guess, not sure. I will return for a seafood offering next time. read more

Stopped in for dinner in a Sunday. Ambience was comfortable and inviting, very few people there but learned they just began opening on Sundays recently. The food was excellent. I had the filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus, hubs had the fish and chips. I tasted it all because that's what I do, lol. My filet was cooked perfectly and the fish and chips were meaty with just the right amount of tasty breading. Sides were fresh and well seasoned. Four of us tried the new menu prepared by the new ownership. The food was very good. The drinks are generous. The waitstaff is friendly. The issues are small, but important if they want to be considered fine dining. Their pricing is no longer neighborhood bar, which is fine, but then everything else must be a step up. Two of us ordered soup....those were served. Two of us ordered salad....not delivered until we asked when entrees were served. BTW, the house salad was awesome. We asked for bread and were told the chef had not decided on the right recipe yet.???? Hello! The chef and the new ownership stopped by, which was nice. The carrot cake dessert is reason alone to dine there. As you can see, my review is mixed. This use to be great.. had dinner there Tonight, thought we would give it a try again..disgusting!! My husband ordered a French Dip... a very easy sandwich to prepare. ( I make often at home.. medium Rare roast beef is used) his sandwich was served to him, over cooked beef, and slices of pure FAT... no meat at only only fat . My meal was not great .. chicken Piccata easy to make.. was over cooked and tough!! Will not return. And to the owner, our waitress looked at the sandwich as did another man, and saw the same fat in the sandwich. They seemed pretty shocked.are you serious?
