Had a great morning here. A first for the husband and I. Prices weren't bad and easy to figure out…read moreon our own. I can see how it can get expensive real quick. $5 for a soda and food was also pricey. We had a few apps but a lot was sold out. An hour was plenty of time. It was about $40 but then they tac on a charge for "lifetime membership" which isn't optional. So tac on another 12 dollars to the bill right there. Service was decent and everyone was friendly. Would return with a group. Would be a fun night and lots of options for different games at all levels of play. Restrooms and lobby were very clean and nice.

Lots of really great updates at Top Golf. I love that they have a no fee reservation process now…read more It helps allow you to plan ahead and have a great weekend night out without waiting forever. Just make sure you are on time because they start your play time at the time your reserve which is fair. Also make sure you are sure about the playing time you select because you may not be able to extend the time. We were sad to see that the regular flat breads are off the menu. The pizza is fine, but we didn't like it as much. We also will miss the quesadilla. I tried the shrimp tacos. They were so delicious. They had a ton of shrimp in them and were very tasty. I'm not sure if they are a new menu item or not but I really enjoyed them. We had a great time because of Spence, Timothy, and Warren. Spence is the very first Top Golf employee to ask if we needed a handicap acceibile playing mat which was so nice to offer. Timothy was on top of things. He made sure we got everything we needed and took great care of us. Warren checked in on us and made sure we were having a great time.

Anyway, what I love about this wheel is that dogs are allowed! I try to include my dog in as many social outings that he can go on to ensure he has experiences too. When the weather gets colder, it's much harder to find activities he can partake in so I was excited to learn that I didn't have to leave him at home when spending time with my nieces. The four of us purchased tickets at the venue and then headed to the queue. If you have small kids (or a small dog), there is a stroller parking area that you can place your stroller while you ride. It's not secure though so be sure to keep any valuables on your person. The line was short and we ended up with a swing all to ourselves. They are pretty roomy; the previous group had about 7 average sized to bigger sized adults and most of them could fit in one carriage (though not with much room to spare). In the summer this may be okay; the swings are temperature controlled. With the cold weather, I found the temperature to be a bit too warm. Particularly if you dress in many layers as I do, being bundled up in a swing with hot air blowing on you is pretty miserable. To ensure you get your money's worth, the ride is about 5-8 mins I think. You go around at a languid pace about 4x and the last 5th time is the longest as it stops to allow patrons to exit the swing. My dog did pretty well for his first time. He was a little nervous, but with soothing pets and holding him, he calmed down. Perhaps next time I'll bring some treats. He did have a bit of a spell toward the end when he had a birds eye view of people walking. Speaking of, the views from the wheel are quite nice. You can see the National Monument and others from up there. All in all, this is a nice outing! There are a ton of restaurants to eat afterward and around the holidays, they have a market. The latter had nothing of particular interest but it was nice to get out and walk around. While the outdoor space is super dog friendly, the restaurants did not appear to be so. The outdoor patios lacked any heating lamps, and therefore aren't suitable during cold weather. I also couldn't tell if dogs were allowed there. Perhaps your best bet is to have a couple of people and send one in to a fast food spot to bring food to sit near the courtyard (?) where films are shown.

While grabbing a bite to eat at the harbor, I was having a conversation with my friend and I mentioned that I had never been and decided we had to immediately fix that and I must admit I'm glad we did. The staff was friendly and attentive and I enjoyed the beautiful views of D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The total ride was about 15-20 mins (which was all that I needed). Glad I can finally say I've taken a ride on The Capital Wheel.
