This was my first time at a Harbor Freight Tools. I was looking for a very specific drill piece, which was extremely costly in other stores. So, I figured I'd stop in and see if they carried the item and cost for reference. Not only did they carry the particular item, but it was a fraction of the cost. Needless to say, we made the purchase. Aside from this specific example, this store has (at first glance) almost any tool you could dream of. I would highly encourage someone looking for tools to drop in. Hopefully you find what you're looking for. You ain't going to buy any Ferrari-grade or high-end stuff here. What you will find is crazy bargains and discounts on tools....and especially tools you might need but don't plan to use a lot. Don't expect to get the highest quality stuff but what they do sell will do the job for less. Most of the stuff is imported but here's a hint....Home Depot and Lowes get their stuff imported from the same place! I love this place because they give away tons of freebees and the prices allow me to get one-time project tools that I wouldn't be able to afford or want to afford otherwise. Harbor Freight Tools - Hardware Stores Near Me - Parkville, Maryland

This is a pretty decent Harbor Freight location. The store has never been out of stock on an item I was looking for, and the overall selection is good. As for cons, the wait time at this location can often be quite long and the store is sometimes a bit understaffed, so be prepared to search for the item you need yourself. The inside of the store has a bit of a chemical smell, but that is typical of every HF store I've been to. As for the tools themselves, the quality of HF tools continues to improve, and there are quite a few solid buys to be had. A few of my favorites include the 72 tooth 1/2" drive extending ratchet, which can double as a breaker bar and is perfect for a travel toolkit. Their DA polisher works well for auto detailing and is good budget alternative to the Porter Cable 7424XP or the Griot's Garage polisher. I also quite like some of their specialty sockets, such as their offset oxygen sensor socket which is just $5 with a coupon. If you are planning to buy something here, don't forget to look for a 20 or 25% off coupon! They can be found online and HF also sends them out via email if you subscribe to their newsletters. read more

Harbor freight prices are generally a great deal for tools. Generally, it's a good place to go for tools that you would only need once, like a special socket for a car repair. The quality of some of the tools are great for the price; unfortunately that means doing a little research online for each tool to balance the quality against the price. Most things in the store are made in China, a few are made in Taiwan or the US. It's always a good idea to check for coupons off the website or off their email list. There's often a 20% off coupon code, and other special deals (like a free tarp). The downside is the smell- it hits you in the face as soon as you walk in, and it's a little nauseating. read more

The store is okay. The prices are great, but the staff is bad. I have witness the manager making fun of a customer as he was walking away. All he asked was where is the $3.99 socket set? His reply was, "I don't know, do I look like I work here?" When you need assistance, there is no one that can help you. Poor customer services. read more

I've been here a couple times and it's mostly like every other Harbor Freight I've been to - no frills, not a lot of help. Today I come in for a couple little things - most all that I'm buying with their coupons, so not a big dollar amount, either - when a worker asks if I need help AND he helps me find everything on my list! Although prices are cheap, There service is poor. I wanted a store credit for a brand new item I recently purchased and they would not give it to me without a receipt. I was asking for the sales price less 20% and they would not give me a credit toward another purchase. I was not asking for cash. They use to give me credit, but no longer. I called corporate and talked to someone. I gave them y credit information (date, price, etc). They put me on hold for 45 minutes and then disconnected me. I called back again and got disconnected after pressing the correct button. the third time I called, the phone said there are 15 people ahead of me. I would rather pay more and deal with a store that has good service. They lost my business for ever read more

They wouldn't let me return something even though I had the receipt and it was within 30 days of purchase. I was pretty surprised and upset! I guess you live and learn. You can go here if you want cheap tools, just be aware you can't return anything. read more

Harbor Freight is one of those stores that you can find the odd tool that the major chains (like Home Depot or Lowe's) don't have. For example i was looking for a tri-wing driver. Trying to find one offline is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, not really easy if at all. Well Harbor Freight had it. Now the quality of the tools at Harbor Freight can be suspicious. Some of them look flimsy and of dubious quality. And while i haven't had an issue with the quality of the tools from Harbor Freight i know others that have (tools war down easily or break quicker than similar then tools bought elsewhere). As for customer service, i've never had any issues, if anything the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Now would i go regularly to Harbor Freight for my tool needs, probably not, but if i am looking for something simple or hard to find, and not concerned too much about quality, then yeah why not. read more

If you come here, be prepared to wait an awfully long time in line. What else would you expect with a store full of customers with only one cashier. Management doesn't seem to care about this problem though. I've been here multiple times and it's always the same. read more

ok. the product. its good and cheap. great stuff for items you dont want as lifelong tools or parts. one time use or for items needed periodically, homeowner use tools ect. great prices. this store and staff. -- lazy, no work ethic, 1 register open even with lines zig zagging. seems to me like they feel everything is just a joke and work is something they need know nothing about to get a job there. i would scrap the staff start over and get people who would be grateful to have the work. also maybe offer a extra 1$ per hour but let um know it came from not having a 5th or 7th or whatever employee in store who costs company more than they are worth and for that we increase wages for employees who go above and beyond. then u will have a store that is selling and making harbor freight in parkville a top performer. i ran my own companies for 20 years just retired from them and now looking myself for work. maybe i will call. read more
