I stopped by to pick up a part I needed instead of ordering it through Amazon. And I quickly found what I needed. It made more sense to come here so I can see the product in-person versus online. Checking out was a little hard to find as it didn't have a large sign hanging over the area - unless I missed it. The employee rang me up through the "Self-Service" machines. She was trying to get me to sign up for their HD credit card. They also have activities for kids - I'm not sure if fits a monthly or weekly thing. I thought that was pretty neat. I asked about five different employees for assistance. One person tried to help but didn't really have the information I needed. Another went all the way to aisle 15 to grab a nail because he wasn't sure what I was asking about. The woman I spoke to next didn't seem to know much at all, and one girl couldn't even tell me which battery was a 9-volt. She asked, "Is this it?" and I said, "I'm not sure, that's why I'm asking you." It's really hard to find anyone who's available or knowledgeable, and that's disappointing. Even when I asked the manager for help, she just pointed down the aisle and said it was "somewhere on aisle 45." I expected a little more effort, maybe someone walking me to the item or at least showing genuine interest in helping. The last employee I spoke to mentioned he was about to go on lunch in ten minutes, which didn't exactly make me feel like a priority. Overall, the customer service experience really needs improvement. I hope management invests in better training and staffing so customers don't leave feeling this frustrated.
