I recently purchased a larger home which requires more upkeep and maintenance. I chose Harbor freight to begin purchasing equipment for my home because I have not had any issues with equipment in the past and have been able to return or exchange items in the past without issue. So, I paid for the inside track membership or whatever it's called and purchased an electric pressure washer. The pressure washer worked great, no issue with functionality. However, there was a flat spot on one of the wheels which caused a wobble when rolling it around. I wanted to keep the machine and just swap the wheel, so I called the location that I purchased the machine from and the employee said it would be no problem to swap out just the wheel. When I showed up to the location with just the wheel and explained that I had spoken to someone and was advised to bring it for exchange, the cashier and manager on duty said it wouldn't be possible asked who I talked to and sent me on my way without any help. The next day, I bring the entire machine to exchange and they do not have another on in stock. So, I wanted to return it, go to another location and repurchase. When I went to return the item I was told there would be a $40 restocking fee. This is less than 30 days from original purchase and the item was damaged right out of the box. The entire situation was unsettling and unfriendly. After a brief argument about the restocking fee, I went ahead and returned the item after the manager said they could not wave the restocking fee. This is unacceptable and I refuse to shop at any harbor freight location from here out. I would like to have a refund of my membership fee and the $40 dollars refunded, but after seeing how you guys operate, I'm not gonna hold my breath. You can blame this on the power tripping manager at the Columbia Rd. Martinez, GA location. Maybe this email is useless and maybe whoever reads this, if anybody reads this, doesn't care either. I still want someone to know my experience in case someone still cares about customer service. read more
