He stated some are better than the others for durability like Nucore & Durolux and still need to see the different ones that are offered . The one I was choosing was less expensive and happened to match better but when I tried the sample at home it did scratch easily with a flathead(I did as an experiment) as he had previously mentioned. He said not to drag furniture or anything that may scratch it. He said I needed a blue bottom cover for the floor underneath but u are if I actually need it . I decided to head back the next day and exchange the one I had with the one that was more durable to last longer since it would not be warrantied if any scratches were to occur. I also purchased a tool to install it if needed . I wanted to purchase and match a marble piece that I already have in the area going into the other rooms. He took me to the area and we picked a piece out. Additionally, I had the transition piece to match. He loaded the car for me. When I returned the next day it was busier. Another guy assisted me but was told to go to another customer and someone else helped me. He took the ones I purchased out of the car but there was a bit of a delay at the registers when I returned because customers were also returning and purchasing. Lack of knowledge on the repair itself, attitude of "Just put a new carb on it" Not the case with lauderdale Small Engine Repair. Lauderdale Lakes Small Engine Repair actually did what I asked them to do which was tune, adjust the high and low jets, on the newly rebuilt american made Walbro carb. They charged me $25 for the diagnosis and $4.06 for the repair work. Totally fair. Other shops just wanted to put a new carburetor on the chainsaw. Carburetors are not being made with the proper linkage for this model Homelite chainsaw but rebuild kits are. Don't let the look of the place deter you from using lauderdale Lakes Small Engine Repair. This is one way they can keep their prices in check. Do yourself a favor and use them.
