I would call this store a hidden gem. I was looking for something specific, a catch and release trap that an animal rescue recommend to me. However they didn't have it. What I did find was a busy store with lots of locals shopping for all kinds of things. They have tools, toys for kids, stuff for cooking, hardware items, all kinds of stuff. There's a huge sign so it's easy to spot. One entrance and exit, a security guard that I think was counting how many shoppers were in store. The staff was energetic and helpful. And it seemed like a great store! I'd go again if I was in the area and needed something. read more

So apparently customers that show up in the evening (6:30pm) can not use the bathrooms. Interesting. So because employees have decided they do not want to clean restrooms at the end of the shift customers must suffer. I understand if it is close to closing time but several hours out this policy is ridiculous!! I guess I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

In a very hidden-ish, ghetto, looking area. Very small parking lot. I guess I enjoy that places like Harbor Freight Tools should have bigger parking lots in case what if someone needed to purchase some huge tools or items and this tiny parking lot is causing a lot of issues in the parking lot??? (Compared to the parking lot to the one on Shaw & Villa.) So I would take off one star for that + the front entrance has very tiny doors... I think people who buys huge tools or products would have issues with that too. When I asked for help from an employee to show us a certain item, he was very friendly and showed me & my mother the item we were looking for. After showing me where the item was, he told the other employees working nearby in that same spot, to help carry out the item for us if we need to purchase it, since the item was huge and heavy. The price tag wasn't on there, so I had asked the nearby employees to check the price for my mom. They checked it with no hesitation. They showed no projection of annoyance and answered all the questions that my mom needed, so I really had appreciated the experience from those employees. read more

I bought an open box item, a security camera system with a DVR, for $47. It was a significant discount because two of the four cameras in the system were missing. With open box items, you have five days to return them. Not a moment longer. On the fifth day I get things out of the box and hook it up. The DVR has a power module, and there is a second power module for the cameras. The second module was missing. I call the store and explain the situation. They find a power module and tell me I can come and get it. "OK, but I'm going to need more time to check this out. Today is the last day, and I don't have time to drive 20 miles to Fresno to pick up the module (that you left out), bring it back home, check out the system, then if there is a problem return the system back to you." "We won't extend the five days." Says the manager, a guy named Diego. "OK, Diego, that means that I'm going to come in and return the system, because you won't extend the five days. Give me one more day to check it out." sez I. "Nope. Five days. That's it." sez Diego. "OK, I'll bring it back. See you soon." I think about it for a few minutes, and call Diego back. "Diego, I'm bringing back that system because you forgot the power module. Listen, after I return it, if you want to sell it back to me and include the Power Module, then I will buy it and I'll have another five days to check it out. Think about it." So I drive the 20 miles to the store, meet Diego and return the system. "OK, now will you sell it back to me with the Power Module?" "Yes" sez Diego "But you won't have any time to check it out. Your five days are gone. You don't get five days to check it out if you buy it." Really? You're going to penalize me? If anybody else comes in off the street to buy this open box item, they get five days to check it out. But I bought it, couldn't use it because YOU left out a component, so I returned it...and I can't buy it back on the same terms that anybody else gets? I think Diego is probably a guy with a .22 caliber mind and he is in a .44 magnum job. I really don't think Diego thinks too good. In any event, yep, that is what happened. So...if you get a real good deal on an open box item, better check it out quickly if it is a complicated piece of technology. Because Diego is too stupid to understand that if THEY leave out a crucial piece of equipment, then it is THEIR job to make it right. I wish Diego was smarter. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This store let me wait on hold for 20 mins for an air compressor that they finally found. Meanwhile my husband was waiting in line for it knowing I was on hold and that the associates were looking for it for us. They took it to the front register and said this is for Arty his wife is on the phone about it. Then they sold it to someone else. This store is horrible with customer service. So prior to coming in to make a return my grandmother had called both locations in Fresno to make sure they would even take the items bec they had been purchased about a year or so ago but were brand new and still in the box sealed. (My Grandfather had an idea to start woodworking to make custom canes as a sort of side job/ hobby but due to old age he had a stroke and after that became ill and then eventually went on to pass away 3 days before my 27th birthday in January.) I had originally thought these items to be wayyy past their return date so I went ahead and posted some of the items on eBay. What started out as an unclear assumption that I could not return the 20 or so products we had that were still new, about half of them were discontinued so the clerk went to the back to ask the supervisor/manager what way to process this if they even can bec when my Grandmother called she was told by a person from the location we went to that we could still return everything as long as my Grandfather is still in the system and another location said we could not bec its past the 90 day policy. It turned out the manager came back with the Clerk heard our story and tried to be as understanding as he could they could just simply not return it past the 90 days and without receipts. However! They did exchange the items that we not discontinued for store credit and we got credit for about half the items and it worked out great to us walking away Happy and them probably happy they didn't have to hear from corporate for inconsistent service. So I gave them a 3 star for doing everything they could for us in a quick manner and for being sympathetic. I am in no way grading the products or cleanliness of the store, just simply the customer service I received which I would say was above par. read more

Ok. The staff was friendly and did try to help me. I had an item that had been given to me ($4.99). I did not have a receipt as I did not purchase the item. I did want to exchange it for something that would work (and most likely cost more). I was at first told I absolutely could not do that without a receipt. Then a manager was called. After explaining again that it was a gift and I only wanted to exchange it I was still told they can't. After questioning this policy and giving my opinion that it appeared to be rather short-sighted... Would they rather lose a customer? The extra money spent? And the bad reviews that would come from everyone I spoke with, yelped it to and they spoke with, etc..... The manager relented and did allow me to exchange the item. I ended up spending more money, bought something extra and will return in the future. So 4 stars for going outside of the box and keeping a customer. read more

THARY has very poor customer service, she yelled at a lady tried to find the key for the restroom. She speaks in a demeaning tone, I don't feel she should work with the public. I like shopping here, I know that most of the clientele are a little rough around the edges but some of us visit your store from better parts of Fresno or Clovis and no customer deserves to be spoken to that way. I am an Inside Track Member and I do not appreciate being yelled at to create another line, when simply she could ask "can you please form 2 lines." I spend around $300 every time I go there, as many people do. Also, to tell me that you have to see my phone for my coupon and grab it out of my hand is a little offensive. If I have to deal with her, I would rather go to Lowe's or Home Depot. I enjoy the low prices on tools since I am a mild handy man but I would never renew my membership with her or purchase an extended warranty plan through her. Wow, quite unimpressed. I only went there once and that's all I need to go. The lines were long and the setup of the cashier desks was bad, so people in line ended up being in the way of shopping customers. The customer service was really lacking. I needed someone to show me where a certain product was they I couldn't find. The only person I could find to help me was a lady mopping up a spill who didn't try to help me in any way by referring me to someone else and seemed like she didn't want to communicate with me. So I waited until she was done and then asked her for help. She took me to show me where the product I was looking for was but made me feel like she didn't have time for me. Then they didn't have the product in stock (a battery for a saw my mom had gifted me). The whole store seemed crowded and a little bit claustrophobic. Spent $321 here in the last 2 days. My husband and I, after his first trip, went to return one of the solar battery chargers he purchased that did work. My husband went and grabbed the item we were exchanging and did more shopping. Found an open box item that he wanted to purchase along with his exchange. At that time there was one person in line behind us. The manager had to be called up to the register to correct the price because it was ringing up incorrect. Well, after the first 10 minutes of the cashier talking my husband into purchasing your Inside Track membership my husband requested that the cashier help the man behind us in line. He also needed the assistance of a manager. So Manager again is needed and not showing up. That customer ended up leaving the store without managers assistance. There were 5 other customers in line by now so the cashier helps all of them. My husband at that point asks where the managers office is so he can go knock on the door himself. Then another call was made for the manager to come up front, when the manager finally arrived she was very rude. Didn't acknowledge us at all, not apologetic, NOTHING! Worst experience ive had in a store in a very long time. Now, its not like they were extremely busy or management was assisting another customer, she was in her office... My husband has decided he will no longer be shopping here unless he needs something only HF sells that he cannot get anywhere else on the planet and he did NOT purchase your Inside Track Membership.
