Case in point, aluminum tape for a dryer vent. Lowe's (and Home Depot) have actually found a solution integrating both the aisle and bay number into their app. No more wandering like a nomad with this simple and effective innovation. It's the simple things that make us happy. Five easy stars

We did make a few other purchases and went to stand on line to check out. We were at self checkout and the employee asks how we were paying and sends us over to another checkout with a line and a cashier even though we were paying with credit. Then calls us back to come to a self checkout register where an older gentleman is finishing. Before the man could get his stuff back in his cart, she proceeds to tell me, here, go ahead here pointing to the register. Now let me just say, it's not like there was a line behind us that we were holding everyone up and I certainly wasn't going to rush the gentleman who was finishing taking his items off the register. She kept saying here until I said that I would wait for him to finish as I was not going to be rude and rush him. Another employee, Trish, I believe came over and was very nice and apologized for the rude employee.

The technician also had the wrong windows/glass. The new install/repair was to happen 3 weeks later. When we called to get the two hour window of when the tech would be here we heard the following: We don't have you scheduled, we don't know where your window is. The window is broken. Asking for a supervisor to call us to discuss the issues we were having was futile. They would not return the call. The tech did show up with a window. He found it not to be glass to meet city code, and it was broken. No repairs are done yet. When the tech asked us to sign that he was here I refused until he got a supervisor on the phone. That was a struggle. He did not want to do it and said so many times. I told him you represent this company, you need to help make this right. Finally he reached a lady Laura. She was bold and basically said they will get it right. I asked when....She said that she would call back on Monday after 4 pm because she couldn't tell me yet. I don't believe she will call. I believe that this will be a chase, like herding cats... I am telling you for a company like this to be part of Anderson Windows is awful would NEVER in a million years recommend this company to anyone!!

12 year update on the Silverline 8000-8500 series. We built a new house in 2000 and asked the local…read morewindow distributer for the windows he would use in his house. He stated that the Silverline windows were the best on the market and came with a lifetime warranty. So, we placed the order for 28 new windows. These were ordered with all of the bells and whistles. Double hung, Low-E, Argon filled, and internal grates. When the windows shipped they were nothing more than replacement windows with nailing fins attached to the frame. After the first 5 years most of the sashes were replaced for one reason or another. The biggest issue was they used a rubber seal between the panes of glass to keep the argon gas in failed under fluctuating hot and cold weather as we get here in New Jersey. When this seal fails the argon escapes and the glass quickly becomes visually streaky because the Low-E film sticks to the glass. The second issue is the plastic clips that keep the windows in the track have become brittle and have been breaking. By year 10 the majority of the sashes have failed and have been replaced under warranty. The main problem is that they will not replace the upper and lower sashes in pairs. They will only replace the unit that failed. When the new sash's were delivered they never matches the original sash. Now we have issues with air gaps and upper sashes that don't stay up when the windows are opened. Now every time we open a window the upper sash creeps down and the bugs are free to enter the house freely. Lower screen only, no full length screens were available for these windows. I've resorted to using white vinyl tape to keep the upper sash in place and keeping the air out. I called customer service regarding this situation and I was told that since Anderson bought Silverline they had no ability to accurately match up the sash dimensions exactly. I requested that they replace the sashes in pairs and they said this is not covered in the warranty. At year 12, I give up! I'm looking to replace all of the windows in the house (again). I guess the "lifetime" warranty really isn't worth the paper it's written on. I'd crumple it up and throw it out the window, but I can't open the windows anymore! (Or see out of them either!!!)
