Rick Sr. approached me and asked if I needed help, and after I explained my situation, he patiently walked me through what I would need and how to put it together. Then, possibly noticing the hesitation on my face, he said, "You know what? Give the girl at the front desk your number -- I'm just going to build it myself. She'll call you tomorrow." I was honestly stunned. I had forgotten this level of customer service still existed. Not only did Rick custom-build the trellis for me in a single day, but he charged me an incredibly fair price that didn't begin to reflect the time, care, and craftsmanship he put into it. This experience was such a powerful reminder of why shopping local matters. You can order supplies from Amazon, but you will never get this kind of personalized service, generosity, and genuine human kindness. Businesses like this are worth supporting.

Its location is a bit tricky off a main thoroughfare, and parking could be tight on a busy day. I stopped by to look at their hardware selection today. In search of specific materials, I wanted to see what was available. Easy in and out today, with no interaction with staff near closing time. I'll be back as I'm interested in materials for replacements and projects, I need more time to look at options and costs.

I explained the job to the two techs that came out and they were super receptive and professional. We discussed the job and options were great. Then I was quoted a job that was assessed at greater than my houses square footage with a job that was not at all what we discussed. I understand being careful and thorough, but I felt like I went to a Toyota dealership and was only quoted Maserati prices. Inquired regarding modifications to the quote and the answer I was given was "this is why my boss told me to tell you". I called another company who is a master electrician and is doing the job they quoted me 12k for 3k. I was bummed because electric is something I want done right and was hoping to give this local company business but will never recommend them.

The delivery & installation process is absolutely the worst possible. You would think the delivery would be free after you spend $25,000 on a refrigerator, stove and a wall oven; but it's not. Installation of Subzero and Wolfe appliances require precise and one of kind electrical plumbing rough-ins, which Fergurson does not communicate on the phone or early. So you are constantly email this lady who has 0 field experience. She becomes a human emailer of the spec sheets, which different trades can interpret sightly differently. To reconcile the difference by talking with trades, Subzero tech support, and Fergerson is a full time job. The after-sale support is email exclusive and absolutely time waster. Fergerson after-sale support obsoletely will not talk to you; they will only email you dumb things one like the spec sheet and ask you dumb questions on the email. Heather called me after I threatened to cancel the order; but she knows nothing about the fine installation detail, sometimes down to 1/16". She promised that a Subzero rep would call me the same day, nobody called me. So I called Subzero tech support. It takes about 24 full working hours to coordinate the installation of 4 appliances. I come from a engineering background, with 4 years of fix and flip experience. I have never spent so much time on appliance installation. If you buy subzero as a luxury product, and you also value time as the greatest luxury possible, then Fergueson is not for you. Fergerson will rob you of your time!

Heather Watson assisted in the selection of the right faucets, tub, diverters, and miscellaneous plumbing components to make it all work. Being in the contracting line of business I recognize that complex projects can require a significant amount of assistance to make sure they are done properly; Heather nailed it from every aspect from design, pricing, and working through last minute installation issues associated with a custom bath. Dawn Esposito assisted in taking our conceptual drawings of the vanity/cabinetry to a beautiful, yet functional setup that perfectly matched our design. Just as Heather did, Dawn took ownership of the project, worked with me to get exactly what I wanted and got it ready for release from the factory. During installation the few minor questions that surfaced were responded to immediately allowing installation to continue without delay. I would absolutely recommend Ferguson for anyone interested in bringing their dream renovation to life. This is the type of customer service that should be expected and required of all design/suppliers.

An entire, booming industry centered around decorative, dust-collecting stuff you can purchase so that your home looks like it was ripped from the pages of the Pottery Barn catalog and rivals any space on HGTV. And I mean that in the best way possible! Admittedly, I was kinda hoping that the old hh gregg would become a roller skating rink but I won't complain about another spot in Annapolis to shop for discounted homey stuff. HomeSense is owned by the TJX Companies, it started in Canada and it is purportedly nicer than HomeGoods. But even knowing that going in, I wasn't really sure what to expect. For some reason, I was visualizing the super voluminous size of an "At Home" store but HomeSense is pretty normal sized - lots of inventory but not overwhelming. However, I will say that the Annapolis size is considerably larger than the Columbia location. The Patch (an online local news outlet) noted that Cosmopolitan described HomeSense like "HomeGoods on Steriods" but I didn't feel that way. It had more of some things and less, or none, of other things. What surprised me about HomeSense is how much overlap there is with HomeGoods, which is just a few steps away, also located in Annapolis Plaza. Unlike HomeGoods, HomeSense carries more large pieces of furniture, has more rugs, has hard wired chandeliers and does not carry linens except throw pillows. Regarding the rugs, they have a ton of them at this location. If you need a couch, or a set of easy chairs or a grouping of dining chairs, I think there are some really decent finds here. I saw a chadelier that I liked but it was still around $600 so perhaps it is higher end than HomeGoods. Both HomeGoods and HomeSense have home decor, kitchen items, gift wrap and bags, framed art, mirrors and lamps. HomeSense has a "General Store" section that kinda sucked me in but it was really just organizational stuff and cleaning stuff. I think it's weird that the checkout is mid-store rather than near the door. I bought a big piece of art and it felt odd to carry it such a distance before getting to the exit. I must say, I don't think I ever recall seeing the parking lot at Annapolis Plaza so full!
