Horrible customer service. Had to bag my own merchandise. Cashier obviously didn't want to be there.

As someone who is always purchasing home improvement items I have to give Lowes credit as they have…read morenot forgotten how to treat their customers. I tend to buy lots of construction hardware such as odd sized bolts and joints for deck framing. This Lowes has a better selection and is better organized than Home Depot in this regard, and the staff in their painting department has always been more than willing to help me find a hard to find item. Now when checking out they email you a receipt (which is great for tracking expenses) and most importantly this Lowes ALWAYS has staff working at the contractor check out area and I have never been forced to self checkout which is now mandatory at Home Depot.

I'm a patron of Lowe's in Altoona PA, Carlsbad CA, and New Orleans LA. Comparatively, this store is…read morethe least willing to assist customers with more complicated questions / transactions. The assistant manager ultimately resolved my issue, but during the days prior, the customer service would say hold on or wait up. I'm gonna put you on a hold and then hang up. I thought at first it was by accident. But then when I called back three more times either I was put on hold and hung up or told I was going to be transferred to the front store manager subsequently only to be hung up on. In order to resolve the warranty issue, I had to come in to the store physically and work with the assistant manager, who was very helpful but I believe it was only because I was standing face-to-face with him.

This is a well stocked hardware store. The customer service was great…read more We were visiting our Aunt in Belle Chasse over the 4th. She needed 4' lightbulbs and a furnace filter and a couple other little things. We spent a long time just looking around at all the inventory. Great grill section. Lots of tools and such. Seafood boiling pots. Basically alittle bit of everything. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

I can't really say enough about this place. It's so much better than your average big box hardware…read morestore. From the moment you walk in, you'll find someone ready and waiting to help you, whether it's just simply pointing you to the location of the inventory you need or if it's something more complex that requires some problem solving from a more experienced hand. And now that Jeanfreau's has switched over to being affiliated with Ace, I think things have gotten even better with expanded inventory and new layout. Last week, a young lady there really helped me save big $$$ on a repair for my compressor. The line between the tank and the pump was compromised by a blown gasket. I found a company online selling what they claimed was the repair kit for the problem, but in total would cost well over $50. I brought the piece in and this young lady helped me find two O rings that would fit the piece - the total was not even $1. You won't find this type of help at the big box stores.

Dufrene Building Materials is a solid option for lumber on the westbank besides the big box guys…read more The prices are comparable and quality to them as well. They offer delivery for big buys at a good rate but if you are only buying a few hundred of items, its better to do it yourself. That process is kinda wonky if you havent done it before, so that is what I going to outline for you so you look like a pro instead of a bumbling dummy like I did. 1. You park in front of the building, not the side past the guard shack 2. When you enter the store, the large service counter to your immediate right is where you pay for everything and where you order lumber. Looks like a will call area since the are sitting down and it seems like you are peering down into someones office space. 3. After you pay, they give you the receipt stapled to a large pink sheet. They will tell you to drive around to pick it up. 4. When you back up, drive to the guard shack, that guy will check the pink sheet, possibly radio the next guy. They will tell you to drive on. Drive in and keep going, even if you see the area where the items you have to pick up are obviously stacked, till you see someone that works there holding a bunch of paper work and a radio. Give him your sheet and he will tell you where to go next. Right back to the pile you passed. 5. Park and wait for him to show up with a fork lift. They will load it for you. But make sure you count that there is enough. 6. When you are fully loaded, you must stop at the guard shack again. That guy will recheck your load against the pink sheet again and tell you that you can go. Thats it :-) If you skip a step or do them out of order like I did (they dont tell you any of this inside even when asked) you will be waiting a long time or made to drive in circles. They also sell sell hardware, plumbing, crawfish pots, generators , etc. Give them a shot, its like a old fashioned hardware store inside, but a mega big box lumber yard outside.
