They were gentle with my kid and gave them a lot of attention to be made comfortable. Even checked on them when we got home. Let me start off by saying that I was EXTREMELY nervous about taking my son to any dental surgery place being that he is only 5 years old. I live in Bakersfield and there is only one children's dental surgery center here. You are referred to the local office here and are expected to blindly make a surgery appointment for you child. That day they will go over everything with you and explain the risks and outcomes and so on and so forth. Mind you, your child is to be fasting the entire time because they are about to go into surgery. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT. No time to think, no time to prep, no time to decide whether you're ready to move forward or not. That is when I started looking elsewhere and found Hapy Bear. I did not care how far I needed to drive to get my 5 year old proper care. I noticed they had great reviews and scheduled a consultation. They were SUPER informative at the consultation. I met the dentist and the other staff I spoke with were all super helpful and reassured me that he would be in great hands. I was scheduled for treatment about 2 months later but I was able to get my son in sooner as he needed ALOT of work done. On the day of the surgery they took me and my son back (my husband waited in the lobby) to explain everything in depth once again. I met the dentist that would be working on my son. I met the anesthesiologist. They were super informative and made sure I didn't have any other questions or doubts before they began treatment. I held my son and cried before they took him into the other room to sedate him. All of the staff continued to console me and assured me that my son would be just fine. They were very understanding how scary this was for any mom. After that they took me to a private waiting room where they have a TV you can watch and have snacks or drinks (they don't allow any food or drink in the lobby). My husband was able to wait in the private waiting room with me. The staff regularly updated us on how the procedure was going. They even took payment in the private waiting room because you don't exit the same way you come in. Before we knew it my son woke up from surgery. Everything went as well as it could have gone. My son was a little fussy and uncomfortable initially. But he calmed and fell asleep in my arms on our way to the car. I strapped him in his car seat and we headed home. He was a little groggy for half the day. He took another nap when we got home. Didn't have much of an appetite initially but by the end up the day he had a full meal. He was basically back to normal activities the very next day! As a parent, and as a mom especially, having to put your child through any type of procedure is extremely scary. But this facility made this process as easy as it could possibly be. All of the staff is amazing, everyone is super helpful and informative. The dentists and anesthesiologist I met were just wonderful! I'm so glad I went with my gut and found this place. I would recommend this facility for anyone needing this type of treatment for their little ones! read more

Love all of the team. starting from checking in the receptionist are always polite , then getting vitals very detailed and sweet which makes the child feel comfortable and cared for. Anesthetist as well and Dr the way the explain to the parent and child is excellent. Overall my experience there each time has been the best. From beginning of procedure , to keeping me informed how it's going or any changes to finally when child wakes up we are reunited and sent off. I wouldn't bring my dog here for dental service. Horrible service at the counter and behind with the assistants. I was referred here and showed up after waiting 3 months for an appointment to be told "they won't do anything until I'm (my daughter)done with the ent" so they wasted my time and resources. HUGE WASTE OF TIME oh and I waited 45 minutes to even be seen even though I was 20 minutes early. So an hour to be told they won't do anything. Went back to the orthodontist and was referred to Kids2dentist in Visalia where they will be extracting the tooth the same day no anesthesia! The whole step by step of explaining the process for my daughter's surgery was very clear and I loved the anesthesiologist that talked to me about how everything was gonna go down. The Dental surgeon (lady owner of Hapy Bear) she too was awesome and I loved how she was so caring at every moment she got to meet my little one. l love love love the fact that I was informed at every moment if there were changes to the procedure and how they always let me know how my child was doing! Hapy Bear Surgery has been AMAZING to both of my girls. They both have needed to go under general anesthesia to remove a mucocele. The Dental Assistant and dentist explained everything. The day of treatment everyone was extremely nice and made sure to explain everything from start to finish. The quiet room I was taken while treatment was clean and had Netflix available. this mom was extremely happy with the place. My girls were in great hands. Ask up front about their BS fees. My child is quadruple covered. Two dental insurances and two medical. These crooks still wanted to charge fees on top of fees. Seriously what is a "facility fee"? My son was scheduled 3 months back about an appointment for the 27th of July they call me the day before to give me instructions on anesthesia and when to come in as she's telling me she hasn't heard from primary doctor about allowing procedure. so I think okay but why didn't they call these last 3 months to let me know ? So maybe I can do something on my end to speed up process they rescheduled appointment again she told me they faxed forms out. I scheduled appointment with primary to make sure form gets sent back I called at 8 am she assured me they will fax another form out. I get to dr office at 3pm they told me they hadn't received any form she told me to call and ask dentist to send form now. I called and the receptionist told me she's not sure if dentist is still there ? And she doesn't have a form for my son to be faxed it has to get signed by dentist I'm confused like didn't you send it out before? isn't it in the system ? I was told this morning he it was being resent so where's the original I live in Fresno requested days off for this procedure. read more

I took my son here two years ago because he needed a crown, I am from Fresno county and I chose this location because they only have another one here in Fresno and it had horrible reviews so this one seem like the best choice when I took him and he was scheduled for nine in the morning and they can't have any breakfast or juice obviously kids wake up super early so he was hungry by the time we got there and he didn't end up getting seen until almost 12 But I was just happy that he was getting treated for the crown at that time. Today I took him to his dentist because he has been complaining about the crown Hurting him and she hast to redo the crown because it wasn't placed correctly, there's a gap between the crown and his gums! he has had this crown for two years that wasn't placed correctly and I'm so furious because he could have gotten a horrible infection from it thank God that he didn't but now he has to go through this again. read more

So far no good. It starts with a very cold reception. Just making an appointment is a bit flinty but if you don't mind waiting over an hour for a 15 minute consultation then having the lights turned off before they can hustle you out the door then this might be alright. Will they do this to my little girl after her surgery too? I am actually a little freaked out about this being the place where I get my child's tooth extracted but it is causing her pain and it already has taken two months just to get her in. I come in for an appointment, a simple check up. I wasn't called for 30 minutes until after the appointed time, I sat in the room waiting for a doctor for an hour. They were very professional. Very clean facility. They have a play area for kids. My son who is three years old was scared his first time until he seen the facility had this playroom. He thought this place isn't that scary if it has a play area. Another reason to go here is the quality of service they give to their patients. The staff made my son feel comfortable and myself. I meet with the dentist who performed the procedure and the anesthesiologist also. They were both informative and experienced. I knew my son was in good hands. The following day after the procedure. This place is totally unprofessional. Came in for my 2 year olds apt at 1045. We waited 30 min past our apt time so I went to the front desk to make sure they didn't forget about us. Took another 15 min to get called back to a room. Waited another 20 min and still had not been seen. Went back to the front desk to see what was going on. They said all the doctors are in surgery and they see patients in between surgeries. She could not give me a time frame of when we would see a doctor. So we waited another 20 min and still no doctor. By this time my son was hungry so we had to go. I waisted time off work for nothing and the receptionist never said sorry only had an attitude. I live about an 1 hour 20 minutes away from Tulare but I brought my daughter that's 2 year old here to get her dental work under general anesthesia (iv sedation).My 2 year old is terrify of the dentist so I knew this was my option to be put to sleep so she won't be traumatized. She needed 4 front crowns and 2 back fillings.Im very glad I came here! They did a great job and answered all my questions.I did get my daughter the crowns that are white in the front to look more natural and it is silver in the back of the crown.Im very happy now that my daughter has her beautiful crowns and they look great on her.I Do recommend this place for parents that have kids that are really scared of the dentist.I won't lie ,I did cry when they put her to sleep but I felt better knowing that she wasn't going to be awake during her dental work. read more

Unfortuatley you must pick a star and yet Yelp should put negative ones. Un-Ethical, Un-Professional, Un-Organized. My daughter was supposed to be in proceedure right now but unfortunatly we were denied service. I got the at the time gived with my daughter fasting all night and this AM, we arived to two other patients there as well waiting. They scheduled three little kids who again fastibg all night and AM when they ONLY had 2 surgens available so unfortuatley we were still waiting as the other children went on ahead amd my daughter minder starving and getting antsy. We finally get to the back room amd i make a complaint that they should NOT schedule so many young kids for one appt of they do not have enough doctors to accomidate the time and children who again are STARVING!! When the doctor comes in to talk he was very rude trying to put me in my place telling me we dont have time for childish complaints abd yadayada. I told him i understood its frustrating because im speaking for all these kids having to wait like this. I then prceeded with a question my daughters regular dentist told me to ask. She had a absest possibly due to the cap Hapy Bear put on one year prior and her dentist was concerned it will be depremental to her pain wise to do a root canal amd cap to just pull it. The doctor proceeded to degrade my educationa level itn dental work and family healthcares dentist technically letting me know i was in the wrong for even suggesting and let us know come back another day. Minutes later the supervisor amd other surgen walked in letting me know our daughyer would no longer be seen and how i was harassing them, when i asked for a formal complaint but they proceeded with i was a fulgar parent and to leave. First, my son is an established patient, he was last seen in March of this year. Staff is rude and doesn't like to answer questions. I called to schedule an appointment for my son for a toothache and the earliest they could see my son is 3 months out. I asked if there are any other dentist they recommend or any advice because my son is special needs and can't just go anywhere, she just replied, "I can't tell you what to do." I replied I just want to help my son and that was not my question. I told her she was not listening to my question. I asked to speak with someone else and she just kept me on hold for 10 minutes as my punishment. If they are rude and have no patience with adults, I can't imagine how they would treat children with special needs. I will not go there again. read more

Worst experience of my life. They wanted us to pay this outrageous fee , that I called my insurance company about, and we were not required to pay. They never even looked ay my son's teeth, they just glanced and gave me an outrageous price. We took him to another pediatric dentist. Better experience, and we were treated with respect.
