So good and such a good value. Not the best roast beef I've ever had, but super solid. The rolls are fresh and toasted, plenty of sauce, and the meat is tender. It's so thinly sliced that the meat can clump together a bit and fall out, but that didn't affect the taste. Fries were fresh out of the fryer and a huge serving! Homemade Onion rings were very good, got a Greek salad with grilled chicken. Salad was just ok the chicken was very good . Also had an Italian was really surprised that it was all meat and no veggies . It was good, but I think they may want to give the dining area and bathroom a serious cleaning, the table edges, back of the booths , windows. We did take out. The kitchen area looked very clean. I've lived in Portsmouth for over 30 years and used to stop at Haps--it was good back then. A few years ago, it took a nosedive and got so bad I thought it might have closed. Even after its makeover, I assumed it was the same old spot and never went back. Tonight, craving a North Shore Beef, I gave it another shot. My husband stopped at Haps on the way home to pick us up some onion rings and french fries.I was thrilled with what he brought home!. Finally onion rings that were NOT BREADED or pre frozen.Now..I have been looking for the last 2 years for some simply delicious...beach worthy...Deep fried and hand battered rings!..I GOT EM!..I have tried a vast array of onion rings from just about every place around here (not counting beach)...What I have been met with is usually frozen, over breaded (I mean what appears to be like hard bread..to..soggy undercooked or overcooked yuckyness! and always waaaay overpriced.These at Haps were Plentyful! and very reasonably priced...Oh and the french fries (incidentally they have several choices of fries)..were wonderful too.Crunchy yet tender inside..fresh and lightly salted...So Good!..Will defenately be back to Haps to try more items and OH..ONION RINGS! read more

Just don't use a takeout service if you're ordering from this place. I don't know who's responsibility it is to review the order, but the only two times I've ordered from this place, and yes, I gave it a second chance I had the wrong order or something missing. I hate french fries and I got about 3 pounds worth of them last night. No mozzarella logs as I ordered and mounds of the wrong cheese on the burgers. The bottom part of the hamburger roll was just water. It had disintegrated it was so disgustingly greasy. Sure Uber eats gave me partial money back, but so what? It's not what I ordered. Again. Worst roast beef I've ever eaten. Wouldn't even feed this to a dog. Can't believe they would serve something like this to a customer. Straight up slimy mush. Edit: I did reach out to the owner to resolve this as noted and instead of offering a refund on my sandwich (had to go in the garbage obviously), they said they would give me a free roast beef next time. Quite possibly the best roast beef this side of the state line. They cook it right, slice it thin, and pile it HIGH. I think that the regular roast beef sandwich is a great value for the money. It's loaded with roast beef and is quite filling. I was tempted to get the Super Beef, but find that the regular makes for a decent meal when paired with their salad. Stopped into Haps today with a fairly big group of hungry stomachs. First impression, super clean and open. We ordered a bit of everything- Greek salad with chicken, roast beef dinners, a kid's cheeseburger, a wrap, buffalo wings, and a couple apps of fried pickles/chicken fingers/shrimp. Ohhhh my goodness, DELICIOUS! The food was served hot and in less than 10 minutes. The food was huge servings, even for the kids cheeseburger plate! Possibly the best wings I have had in a long time- they were huge and perfectly fried/baked. Definitely the BEST in the area! The roast beef plates came with a delicious & definitely home made rice & nice side salad.... the roast beef though was literally the best with sauce and cheese, just how I like it. No other place has beef sandwiches like this outside of MA I have been to! The Greek salad was super fresh, huge chunks of Greek feta and the chicken was really good on top-- highly suggest a salad because of the homemade gyro bread! Apps were all homemade, quality and good portion for us all to pick... chicken fingers were real yummy!!! Got a moment to talk to the owner and he was so nice and proud of his restaurant & that we loved our meal! Super clean, super delicious, and really cute restroom too for a sandwich/salad type shop! Wow, so much more haddock for the money than the Beach Plum and everything was cooked just the way we asked.
