Been hard to find good Chinese food for carry out in Rockford since "Royal Dragon" closed. Or it's good then not so good over time. We have been going here since January haven't been disappointed! I tried the Won Ton soup last night with our dinner and it was amazing! ***** I always order broccoli and beef I like the fresh broccoli & love the spring rolls! Breakdown Fast carry out Great food & presentation! Give them a try! (Next to old Valley Produce) read more

Had a hankering for some "Americanized" Chinese food so I stopped in for some chicken and broccoli and an egg roll. The egg roll did not have a lot of flavor but the chicken and broccoli was just how I like it. Fried rice was bland by itself but was good with some soy sauce added. Lunch took about 4-5 minutes to cook, so fast food was good to get! Beware... They add a lot of sauce and it ended up spilling out of takeout container and into the bag and than my car. Next time I will make sure that I keep the container flat so I don't have that problem. Restaurant looks pretty old but is pretty big. Bathrooms were clean but restaurant was a little grimy. I asked the owner for a menu and she said but we have a hue menu right here. I told her I wanted to bring it home Nd she did give me a huff and puff before handing it over. I do see the attitude others were talking about. read more

So, I don't understand what people are thinking when they expect miracles out of Chinese places like this. C'mon folks, it's a chain Chinese place located in a strip mall...it's going to be typical fast Chinese food. That's that Personally, of course I've had better Chinese food, but you know what's awesome about this place? It's super fast, consistent, and pretty decent for the price. I'm always going to get what I'm expecting there and that's what matters to me. Solid three from me. Lower your expectations, folks, for real. This is not a 5 star establishment nor is it meant to be. read more

Disgusting. Worst Chinese we've ever had for delivery. Whoever answered the phone was rude and refused to take their own coupon. The delivery person made a carbon copy of our credit card. What is this, 1980? Oh, and my food was as red as a maraschino cherry. Did I mention it was disgusting? read more

I'm really not to satisfied with this place! I ordered chicken fried rice with extra garlic and I got yelled at and got told to "Go to hell" she needs to be fired I'm extremely offended and disappointed and disgusted from this inappropriate behavior for sure a -10 stars!!! read more

Although this is not authentic Chinese food I love this Happy Wok. I've been coming here for years and I don't have any complaints about this place. I brough my wife here on one of our first dates so we have that memory that makes it good too. The best seat in this little place is in the front room (the original restaurant). Everything that I've ordered here is great! Before I was married I would come here once a week. Now that we're married we come here once a month because of the busy life but if we could we would still come once a week! read more

The food is top notch and always quick! Highly recommend pan fried noodles and steamed dumplings.

Stay away from this place. The food is okay but they are so disorganized and they continue to tell lies to everyone. It will be ready in 10 min and an hour later the food isn't ready. When the phone rings they continue to tell people 10 min. It is not worth the hassle. read more

Super super rude lady who answers the phone could not understand what I was saying, which is ironic, so she thought it was good customer service to just hang up on me. And after reading the rest of the reviews it's appears her rudeness is not an isolated incident. We have ordered from this location at least once monthly for 20+ years. We are going to try out the 173 location now. read more

Food is just ok. Can be greasy. Freshness is hit or miss. The woman owner is always rude and doesn't accommodate like a few of the other happy woks do. Ie she won't substitute rice noodles for rice. I would have paid more, but she huffed at me like I was burdening her. I only go to this one when I have no other choice while on the ambulance. read more

We get food delivered from here all the time and it's always been awesome..never any issues, always hot,and delicious...

Horrible customer service! I called wanting to purchase food for my sick handicap father and have it delivered. I'm out of town and since I cannot show them my debit card with ID over the phone I cannot place an order. I offered to send a photo of debit and ID and with attitude lady refused to place my order!! read more

I would prefer to rate this as, 0 Stars. Food is okay but for the rudeness and non caring of the woman ( possible owner) makes it not even worth the price. I made the mistake of being non specific with my Szechuan triple crown order as far as, rice, white rice, noodles or whatever. It is under menu several different ways. It came with rice but I am mistakenly didn't inform them that I wanted noodles. The lady very rudely said that it's my fault that it was ordered that way I stated maybe she should have asked what I wanted it with, I asked either way how much would it cost to make up some noodles for me I will come back and get those and pay. She said they don't do that you have to order the whole Triple Crown noodles. I ended up hanging up on her after a little more conversing. Chef Chen is only 2 more minutes away cost a little bit more but at least is friendly and the food is definitely better. I think from now on Chef Chen will be my place to go. Good luck "Unhappy Wok". read more

Tried to place an order via telephone and the lady taking the order was rude and argumentative. Just got off of work and I'm tired and hungry so take that grumpy lady..my business will be given elsewhere. read more

The food is just so-so, to be expected from Chinese fast food. But it is close and quick. I am assuming it was the owner that took care of me most recently when she acted like I was inconveniencing her by coming in to order food. The time before that, I ordered told the girl I was going next door to get some things at the grocery store, then got lectured when I got back because the food was ready and I wasn't there. I am open for other options for fast food Chinese for sure. read more

Would give negative stars if I could! We used to order every weekend for years until the time the rude lady got our order wrong and I called to let her know and she yelled at me that we ate it instead of apologizing for forgetting it. Never went back and will never go back. The only happy wok worth the food and service is in south Beloit all the others are rude bitches that serve garbage. read more

Horrible service I order 2 crab ragoon and she gave me one! I called and she started yelling at me. NEVER EATING THERE AGAIN.

Love the food, although I feel it's gone down hill the past few years. But you get a lot of food for the price. Best crab Rangoon, and egfroll in town for a great price. However they have worst customer service in town. Even if they get the order wrong they won fix it and tell you it's your fault. Rude people to order from, I've ordered big meals and have been told I eat a lot. But I love most of the food that brings me back. read more

I had the worst experience with this place tonight. I had ordered curry shrimp, kung pow chicken, and crab ragoon. When I called the very rude lady said "what is your phone number...what.is your address...what do you want" I told her all this and also gave my card number. She gave me a total but didn't confirm my order. When we received it we got curry chicken. Now I am a semi vegetarian and will not eat chicken so I was very upset and called them. When I called I said "I just ordered curry shrimp and kung pow chicken, but I got both chicken" lady says "no you said chicken!" I say "I'm pretty certain I said shrimp, I will not eat chicken" she says "it says chicken on your ticket" I say "well maybe you misheard me, I wanted shrimp" she says "well we are too busy now to help you" I say "fine whatever" and hung up. Any other place would have said "I'm sorry I misheard you, we will send out the correct thing for you" nope. Not this place. They are extremely rude and don't care about their customers. I will never order from here again. read more

Loved the hot and sour soup. Probably the 2nd best I've ever had. I said had because I will never go back. I have been having my daughter pick me up a large hot and sour soup and an egg roll at least 2 to 3 times a month for the past year or two. She brought me my soup and an appetizer sampler yesterday for lunch. I glanced at the receipt and it said egLovedg drop soup, and when I pulled out my soup, it was egg drop soup. After calling my daughter to make sure she ordered right, I've never even had egg drop soup, I called to voice my complaint and hopefully get the right soup comped to me. I have never encountered a more rude and completely overbearing woman in my life. She wouldn't even let me get a word in to explain. I had to yell over her constant insistence that she was right and "She no sell any hot and sour soup today." After going a couple rounds with her and getting very angry, which takes a lot, she hung up in my ear. I then called her right back to tell her I would never buy anything from her store again. I have never had a worse customer service experience in my life. So I would suggest to anyone to steer clear of the Loves Park Happy Wok. There are plenty of other Happy Woks in the area. read more

Called an order for pickup and the lady was extremely rude and hung up on me before I knew the total and when it would be ready. Called back to confirm how long until it would be ready and again was extremely rude and told her to cancel the order due to horrible service and she responded with "OK whatever" and then hung up on me again. Do not give them your business. Would give 0 stars if I could. read more

Ehh. I've had better. It's pretty cheap and a great place to eat if you're hungry and broke.

Rudest bitch I've ever come across. I called to order and she asked for my address, I told her and she said "ok but where close by is that?" And I said loves park (after already giving my street address) and she kept on asking where it's by very rudely. So I hung up and my mom called back saying she was rude to me and the lady mocked me saying that I only said "loves park loves park" (in a very rude mocking voice) and that my mom was a liar (for absolutely no reason). And my mom asked her "did you just call me a liar?" And the lady said "yes I did! You are a liar." Rudest person I've ever encountered. I am speechless. That was NO way to talk to any customer. Your rude service is costing you some business. We will never order from you again and your business will be going down hill very shortly. And clearly everyone else on Yelp has the same idea about you. Fix your attitude. I wish I could give you negative stars. read more

Worst customer service ever!!!!! This lady is seriously an awful person. You are wrong she is right, no matter how wrong they really are. I would never reccomend this location! read more

I have been going to this Happy Wok since it opened. I love the food except the Pad Thai is always greasy. I have tried most everything on the menu and have had NO complaints. Yes, the little Chinese lady is rude but that is apropo. She is NOT the owner. The owner is tall, thin and VERY humble and polite. I have had friends that go to other Happy Woks but once they try this one, they keep coming back to the one on N. Alpine. Many of my friends come to visit from Chicago and they LOVE this Happy Wok. I don't know what all these other posters are talking about when they say the food is awful.......what do you consider good food? McDonalds? I will continue to frequent this Happy Wok until they close or I move on. read more

SO VERY DISAPPOINTED! We have ordered here quite a bit I might add. It's been our "go to place" on busy nights. Tonight however was THE WORST & RUDEST SERVICE we have ever had to endure. when I placed the order, I had to repeat myself 5 FIVE TIMES! The girl taking my order got it ALL WRONG. When I called to let them know, her excuse was that they were very busy. Etremely close to $35 + I was told it was MY FAULT for the order being wrong..the girl told me I could talk to her boss but.....(left me hanging). then, after 6 minutes of being on hold, she said " yeah? " I very nicely asked to talk to her boss ( the owner, as many of you have referred to as that rude Asian lady) She was no better! she said it was MY FAULT. THAT THEY WERE VERY BUSY. She did offer to "fix" my order but, I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY AGAIN. Then, SHE HUNG UP ON ME! HER/ THEIR EXCUSE? " VERY BUSY" I Explained we order often but, that would NOT EVER happen again. NEVER! NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Next time, We will go to JMK or SHOGUN. I realize those are Japanese restaurants. But hey, I'M OKAY WITH THAT! Better atmosphere, better food, better prices! Thanks, happy wok. You are rude, ungrateful, obviously have no sense of pride & you DO NOT CARE! JUST AS LONG AS YOU GET YOUR $$ Syonara - enter bad word here.. read more

I called to order and the "owner" was beyond rude! When I addressed her rudeness she turned around and said I was the rude one. Here is a word to the business owner if you want customers treat them with respect otherwise your customers will go else where as I did. read more

This Place does available delivery toward my hometown Machesney Park. it's always very good foods. I appricated it a lot.

This place is the worst place in Rockford to get Chinese food!!! Terrible!!! I ordered chicken egg foo young and got a egg & onion omelet that was placed on top of some cut up chicken and vegetables with the strangest gravy I ever seen. It was horrible!!!!! The rice they gave me was dry and tasteless!!! Egg rolls sucked and we weren't given hot mustard for them!!! And to top it off, when the lady behind the counter stapled the brown paper bag shut, she stapled a package of soy sauce that leaked all over my wife's pants and our cars front seat!!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!! read more

Worst Happy Wok food ever! I realize its a Happy Wok and fast food, but I have generally been pleased with Happy Woks when in a hurry and trying to limit my spending. I thought they were all generally the same. Apparently they are not! This restaurant advertises and sells Thai Basil Chicken that HAS NO BASIL IN IT!! You read that right! I ordered the lunch for two and was excited that they had 2 Thai dishes on the menu (actually they only serve one Thai dish!). When I could neither taste or see any basil in my Thai "Basil" Chicken dish, I asked them if they left it out. The woman at the counter said "it was in the sauce." So, I sat down to eat again, thinking that maybe I just needed to stir it - but NO BASIL magically appeared. I went back up and asked the cook if she had left out the basil. She said "We DON'T HAVE fresh basil here." So, why say you have a basil dish then? Ridiculous! The "fried rice" had no peas, carrots, egg or anything in it and really wasn't fried rice. Hard to believe how bad this "Chinese" food was. Good price on the lunch special but it was not good food. Won't go back. And I love oriental food. SKIP IT! Napoli's Pizza next door has EXCELLENT pizza. Stop there instead. read more
