Tuna poke bowl spicy
Lillie A.

I door dashed this food, I also got a Jarritos mandarin soda. The tuna was pretty good quality and the rice was a good texture. I eat sushi fairly often. Although I'm not from here I will be eating at this place again.

Very clean, friendly staff , and nice atmosphere. Lunch specials are yummy, and a great price for the amount of food you get. Teriyaki Chicken isn't overly sauced, and has great flavor. Chicken Katsu is crispy and tender. Don't let the sheer look of the sauce on the Orange Chicken fool you...it's amazing. Egg rolls and gyozas were crispy, and very fresh tasting. Definitely be back to try more menu items.

Poke bowl with all toppings

Had a combo poke bowl with all toppings and Spicy Poke sauce (half n half). It was really good with the only complaint being the sauce wasn't spicy at all, but I will try adding spicy next time. Also, don't put the sauce on your rice or it will be overly salty.

Waiting for my food, nice & clean atmosphere. Didn't see any flies at all here either.

Seriously the BEST teriyaki in Lewis county. I'm picky too because I lived near a big city with a great Asian food district. The to go portions are generous, it comes with salad with that creamy nice Asian dressing & a full packed little to go box of steamed white rice cooked to perfection. The chicken is nice & tender with the perfect amount of grilling to kinda caramelized the teriyaki sauce a bit. They are fast too & it only took about 8-9 minutes for my order to come out (I was a walk in & ordered to go once I arrived). It was about $12 for my order, I got extra sauce for my rice/chicken & it was really good/thick teriyaki sauce. Not the watered down soy sauce type stuff most of the other places here locally have. They cook the food in the back & you can see them cooking it if you're up front, it's not frozen reheated foods like the rest of the places in Lewis county. They also have poke & some really good looking short ribs that I intend to order next. Definitely a hidden gem. Much much much better then all the other teriyaki here! I intended to take a picture of my food but was too excited and ate it before I remembered to get a picture then my husband finished off all the rest of what was in my bowl when I left the room

Yummy lunch today! House made miso soup and a delicious Poke bowl! I had a mix of salmon and tuna.

Cold Chicken and the Katsu sauce was like out of the fridge cold. Very sad food. For the price one of the 2 meals we ordered should be warm.

From the Hawaiian word "poke" meaning "to slice, cut crosswise into pieces, as fish or wood" (see…read moreWehewehe.org, a highly recommended reference for 'Olelo Hawai'i or Native Hawaiian words), this fast food poke experience includes limited dine in seating, boba drinks, ramyun surrounded by kitchy pirate decor. Does it work? Sure. They have the most pleasant bathroom I've ever walked into with their subtle lighting. None of that florescent lighting, yay! What I really appreciate, as a mom, were all of the pirate toys for our little one to play with so we could eat. I don't think enough restaurants have figured out that little secret to welcoming families to your establishment. The poke though had a LOT going on, perhaps too much. I'm Native Hawaiian, who used to work in a fish market, and I love the taste of fish. I don't think it needs to be buried under a gagillion flavors. The sauces could definitely be toned down. The imitation crab and seaweed salad offered subtle flavors and the rice, garbanzo beans and edamame helped balance out some of the other stronger flavors but the toasted garlic and onions were too overpowering. While they do offer build-your-own bowl options, it seems the pricier options. May be easier to request things on the side. For the record, grated carrots do nothing for poke bowls other than add unnecessary texture. I'd avoid them completely.

Fresh fish, good vibes, tough-to-beat value. What's not to like? While Bainbridge is a great…read moreweekend destination, I've always found the food to be a bit underwhelming. HI LIFE is an exception, and will be a go-to going forward. The Poke sho-ka-do box is a great option for open minded first-timers. It's a huge amount of food, easily satisfying two and giving you a nice sense of the variety of fish and marinades on offer. Note that it's a fixed set, so you'll likely end up with some marinades/fish you prefer over others. The mayo-base poke wasn't my jam, but that's personal preference. One note, it'd be nice if the box included rice. it's available for $3 extra, which feels trivial. As for dining environs, it's located in a refurbished service station. There's limited indoor seating by the service counter, but most tables are under the overhang where gas pumps would have once been. I'd go at a slightly off-time if possible to ensure you get a seat! Overall: 4.5/5

The staff were also super kind and helpful. We were originally about to order three boxes, but they actually recommended sticking with two, saying it would be enough and they were completely right. We were stuffed. Each bento box comes with a variety of poke styles (9) you can mix and try, which made the whole experience even better. Every single one we tried was fresh, flavorful, and really well-prepared. I'm from Seattle, but this is absolutely worth the ferry ride to Hi Life. I'll definitely be coming back.
