Really good food to be had here. I mean it's not Hawaii, but it sure does scratch that itch. Of particular note is the chicken katsu sauce which has a dominant onion profile to it that is otherworldly. The spam musubi is also really great, as was the Poké bowl! My only complaint is they left two ingredients off of my poke bowl, edamame and furikake, which were on the receipt. But everything was so delicious I just dug in and never looked back. Just ok. They advertise masago on their website and menu but have not had it both times I have been in. I have asked both times and the guy just shakes his head no. Masago is one of my favorite toppings on sushi and poke so it is disappointing when a restaurant says they have it but doesn't actually have it. Their bowl size is smaller than most Poke places but their prices are just as high. It is hard to hear the person behind the plexiglass wall so it is a lot of "what?" while having your bowl made. I love this place! The owners, Jasmine & Sam, are the kindest, friendliest people on the planet, and the food is typically top notch. On my latest visit, I got a Cherry Blossom roll and a spicy tuna roll. Both were reasonably priced and super fresh and delicious. It was too much for one meal so I had the spicy tuna roll for lunch the next day and it was still excellent - their spicy tuna actually has a nice kick to it. Yum! I don't know if this place changed owners or just employees but ever since Jasmin started working here not only has the service been so much better but I look forward to coming here! I have to say what a joy this place is. First off the greeting we received when entered was excellent. Then we get to the ease of ordering with the self service kiosk. It was wonderful, able to customize everything. When my food was ready the wonderful woman brought it right to our table. She was pleasant and so helpful. When my mom got the mold spicy on the side and found it too hot, she was more than ready to replace it with the sweet sauce. She spent time with us after she found out that it was my parents first time with poke. It made the whole visit so enjoyable. Now let's get to the food. Decent Poke! Fish quality is okay, most of the flavor for the poke comes from their sauces--I like to get a mix of the spicy mayo and their sweet sauce. We finally stopped in to try this place out. We weren't familiar with any of the bases etc, and the lady serving us was very willing to let us try them with a taste test. They were very good. The consensus and first impression was that the dish spread was very fresh. I even had mine for leftovers the next day for lunch and it was still tasting very well. This place deserves nothing less than 5 stars. It is buried in a small strip mall so it may be overlooked, but anyone who misses out on it is only doing themselves a disservice. I've come here at least a half dozen times in the past few months and every time I have been blown away by the service and food. The sushi rolls are deceiving with how reasonably priced they are. For the price they give you substantial rolls with a very healthy amount of fish. The Unagi Bowl is also amazing and absolutely a must have. The person behind the counter has always gave me a warm welcome and is very helpful. You can feel how much they care about the customer. Every time I come here there are so few customers here and I can only hope that it's because I come during off hours, because this place is quintessential Olympia - a small hole in the wall with some of the most amazing food you can find. It was okay. They didn't have Masago which was disappointing, and if you order lettuce instead of rice then they really should ask if you want some sort or sauce or dressing on it. I couldn't even hear the gal working there when I ordered because of the plexiglass wall, and she spoke so soft. Upon entering the establishment we were warmly welcomed by the owners. Never having had poke before, I went ahead and ordered a poke bowl with all the fixings for a fair price of $15. Food was clean and portions were generous, very delicious. Great selection of toppings and modifications to add to my bowl. I recommend the spicy tuna and octopus. The lady was incredibly friendly and engaged us in conversation, as well as offered us the opportunity to taste a few things. Seems like the owners here really care about their food and customers. We were greeted quickly and explained their menu. We opted for 2 regular bowls. I had brown rice and my girlfriend had half rice and half lettuce for a small upcharge. The poke was fresh and came with multiple toppings to add. They have 4 sauces to pick from. None were very spicy, although some are listed as spicy.
